[Acne] Why does Ziana (clindamycin/tretinoin) continue to break me out so badly on my chin and cheek but has eliminated my forehead acne after 5 months?

Ziana is literally the ONLY thing that helped me get rid of my forehead acne (closed comedones). It's remarkable really. It's like my forehead isn't even mine.Unfortunately, after 4+ months, I was still breaking out in whiteheads and huge cysts on my chin and cheek and had to stop the treatment on those areas of my face (because honestly my face was better before I started Ziana). It was way past the purging period anyway. I'm going to start using Aczone on those areas soon.but does anyone know why the tretinoin eventually eliminated my forehead but continued to cause flare ups on my cheek and chin?
