[Acne][Review] The great spironolactone thread!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
A lot of us use spironolactone and it seems like doses, side effects and overall experiences can be quite disparate. In responding to another post about spiro last week, it seemed like having a big thread where spiro users answer a few basic questions might be helpful for those of us who pondering whether to take the drug and/or whether to continue with the drug (a la some of the threads on exfoliants in the sidebar). For those of you who don't know about Spiro, this is a helpful starter article that details how it works and common side effects: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3315877I'll start!Spiro dose: 50 mg (25 mg twice per day) How long have you been taking Spiro: 2 months Any other anti-acne meds/topicals?: oral birth control (Tri-Previfem). I also use a BHA lotion at night and Aczone in the morning. The Aczone is useless, IMO. What side effects have you noticed, if any: increased fatigue, PMS symptoms even when it's not that time of the month, skin dryness (my nose always feels dry and drippy, just like in the winter), clogged pores (what I term "face bubbles" - tiny bubbles that will probably not become pimples, but make me panicky). I do not have excess thirst. would you recommend Spiro to others?: Eh, not at this point. But it's early days yet; I seem to be one of the unlucky people for whom Spiro may take awhile to kick in.Edit:as an aside, I'm not sure why this thread keeps getting downvoted...
