Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm a 26 y/o woman. I have had acne pretty much my entire adult life, although it's always been what I would call mild to moderate. Typically, at any one time, I would have 5-10 small pimples on my face, with one occasionally flaring up or my face breaking out if I did something like sleep in makeup, etc. However, last fall, I started a skincare routine (basically a modified Korean skincare routine) that was working REALLY effectively for me. I got to the point that, for the first time in my life, I only had one active blemish on my face, and it was small. I still had a few spots on my cheek - I'm not sure what to call them, but they basically look like pimples/scars that have been on my cheek FOREVER and flare up occasionally but generally just look like red marks. So, my skincare routine was going great, I felt like this gentle, layered approach was working super well for me, and I finally saw the possibility of having clear skin permanently. Then one night, I took Adderall and stayed up all night (with makeup on). By the time I went to bed, the pimples on my cheek had flared up, and the breakout had spread even further than the couple of square inches that area usually covered. In the week that followed, my face EXPLODED with pimples like it never had before. I got pimples in places I had never had them before, like my forehead, inner cheeks, jawline, around my mouth. My face was in pain.I continued trying to just keep my face really clean and stick to the routine that had been working for me (although I stopped the OCM I had been using because I was worried about putting oil on my face when it was that broken out).I keep waiting for this breakout to clear up, and it just won't. This happened back in September, and it's still terrible. As I speak, there are probably about ten large whiteheads on my face, plus smaller red marks all over the place. They have spread from my cheeks to everywhere but my nose and most of my forehead, basically. For the last month, I've switched to just using Phytomer cleanser/toner/moisturizer (because it's super gentle) with very occasional use of benzoyl peroxide (which has been effective for me in the past, but now feels like it often just irritates my already-severe acne). I also continue to use treatments I have always found effective, like turmeric and clay masks, exfoliating regularly, etc., but while they don't hurt, they don't seem to help either.I'm just so confused. I have no idea what happened - it feels like my skin changed overnight and it's a completely lost cause now. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Any ideas at all what might be going on with me, or what steps I can take to fix it? (I can't afford to see a dermatologist, or any super expensive treatments, though feel free to offer suggestions if you have any so I can revisit when I'm a little more financially stable.)
