[Routine Help] May be a stupid question -- but are you supposed rinse before or after applying a chemical exfoliant?

The SCA routine info in the sidebar doesn't specify. I also just ordered a sample of Paula's exfoliants and they don't mention anything abotu rinsing before hand, and specifically say do NOT rinse AFTER applying.This seems strange that you're not supposed to rinse after applying, and just leave it on your face the whole night.
