[Miscellaneous] What do you do when you buy a product, and it turns out not working for you?

Repurpose it? Sell it? Return it? Give it to family or friend? Personally, it ends up sitting in my cabinet until I do a bi-annual clean out of my bathroom and throw away expired stuff :/ I also feel bad giving it to someone else because maybe it won't work for them either and screw up their skin. Just wanted to hear what SCA had to say about this.
