Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi guys,As summer has officially begun, I'll review some sunscreens I have been testing and trying out. In the EU, especially southern EU where I'm from, it is sometimes hard to find all the brands that are discussed here. I mean, you can order almost anything online but it doesn't compare to just buying it in the store/drugstore/pharmacy. Shipping can be expensive, take forever and it is a hassle if you decide to return the product. So with that being said, let's start!I'm a guy and my skin type is normal.Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Air Soft FaceCOSDNAPrice: 13€Size: 50mlSPF 30Quite moisturizing, no white cast, leaves a velvety smooth finish on your face. I consider this a beach sunscreen. It is quite fragranced. The thing is, I like using it on the beach because of the fragrance. I get in and out of the sea quite often and I reapplied every time I got out. No sunburns! However if you have sensitive skin, I absolutely do not recommend this. It contains a lot of fruit extracts and essential oils that can cause irritation. I also do not use it for everyday protection because smelling like papaya and guava all day long would make me sick.LA ROCHE-POSAY Anthelios XL Ultra LightCOSDNAPrice: 17€ (on sales quite often, down to 12-13€)Size: 50mlSPF 50My HG sunscreen, I've been using it for 2 years now. It does leave some white cast on eyebrows/beard/etc. , but you can avoid this by moisturizing beforehand. It goes on better if your skin is hydrated. For guys out there, it melts quite well into my beard. Excellent UVA and UVB protection. It is a bit pricey but every dupe I tried did not even come close to LRP. I use this for everyday protection. No fragrance. Don't let the alcohol scare you away, I do not tolerate alcohol denat. well but I had no problems with this sunscreen. Also something worth mentioning is that it does not mix well with makeup. My sister borrowed it and she said it caused some pilling.BioDerma Photoderm AKN Mat Matifying FluidCOSDNAPrice: 15€Size: 40mlSPF 30I kinda fell for this one. We got some student coupons and I got this for like 10€. Wow this did not work for me. Normally I would apply sunscreen somewhere on my body if I can't use it on my face but nope, this is like wall paint. Not spreadable at all. I don't know how oily do you have to be for this to work on you. It is like photoshop, you're just painting white streaks on your face. BioDerma has some good products, this sunscreen ain't it.Daylong Extreme LotionCOSDNAPrice: 24€Size: 200mlSPF 50When I first got it, I thought lol, how extreme can a sunscreen be? Turns out very. It goes on quite easily, does not leave a white cast but it does leave a sticky film. It's like napalm but in a good way if that makes sense. I love this on my face, neck and ears. It is one of those sunscreens that when you put them on you just feel protected. HOWEVER, I only use it when I know I need that much protection (beach, diving, hiking...). It can be comedogenic and you definitely need something foaming or a double cleanse to take it off.Vichy Idéal Soleil Sun MilkCOSDNAPrice: 25€Size: 300mlSPF 50Sister got some full size samples of this sunscreen. It is okay I guess. For some reason I just find myself reaching for this one less frequently than for the others. Goes on well, leaves a film, has some fragrance. Honestly I'm just using it because I got it for free, I'm not sure I would repurchase even though you get a lot of product for the price. And it is a good product too, I just don't like it for some reason.Sundance Protect & Tan Sun MilkCOSDNAPrice: 5€Size: 200mlSPF 30Sundance is a brand made by the German drugstore DM. I want to dispel the doubts some people have in cheaper sunscreen brands. This sunscreen is cheap, effective and quite moisturizing. It leaves some white cast and in my experience is somewhat waterproof. You need a lot of sunscreen to cover your whole body and when you get an expensive sunscreen sometimes you feel bad for using so much product. When you pay 5€ for 200ml the remorse is just not there and you can Casper yourself up as much as you want.I have also tried several spray sunscreens but I just don't trust their coverage. I ended up spraying it in my hand and then trying to spread it around but it didn't work. I do not recommend getting them. Except maybe for the beard. To sum it up, for every day face use I would recommend the LRP Ultra Light. For every day body use Sundance is just fine. For situations where you will be exposed to sunlight for a longer time I would recommend Daylong. Also, take my reviews with a grain of salt. I do not mind the white cast or the stickiness of some sunscreens as protection is most important for me. My skin is quite tolerant and it can withstand body sunscreen on my face.I will be repurchasing some of these but I will also try some other brands too, depending on what will be cheaper when I run out heh.
