Beauty Tips For Body Care
Good Morning!I've had Psoriasis for about two years. My dermatologist put me on clobetasol and another steroid cream (for more sensitive areas of my body). The problem was that my nails are affected worse than any other part of my body, but she wouldn't consider a systemic drug. I got a really bad vibe in general from this derm. She actually diagnosed my Psoriasis without even looking at my body. I told her what they looked like and she said "You have Psoriasis." and handed me a script without even looking at me. I also asked for a full body exam since I'm a very pale and freckled person but she said she didn't have time.I recently switched dermatologists and absolutely love my new derm. Spent about an hour with me looking at every single spot and also did a full body check. She was very concerned that my Psoriasis wasn't resolving on my nails (it was so bad that they were falling off). She switched me to Taclonex and started me on Otezla. The initial side effects of the Otezla were absolutely awful, but once I settled in, it worked great. She also asked about my skincare regiment. I didn't have one. I've never even used lotion, though I would use cheap sunscreen at the beach. She said I had a ton of sun damage because of my pale complexion. Here's what she recommended:AM: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser Eryfotona Actinica SPF 50+PM: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser Tazorac (30 mins after cleansing) Replenix Power of Three (after Tazorac dries)I've been using this every day since my appointment. My face gets irritated with the Tazorac, but the Replenix helps. I'm starting to purge, which seems to be a good thing.Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should add? I feel like I need to moisturizer a lot more during the day but don't know what to use. The Eryfotona and Replenix are really expensive but are apparently good quality.I've started using Cerave PM after the Replenix to moisturize. Can I use this during the day also? What about exfoliants, moisturizers I can use during the day, and any other things to use?Recommendations on shampoos, conditioners, and particularly body wash that might help with Psoriasis?I'm kind of hooked on taking care of my skin now and would love some suggestions. Especially for good quality, but relatively inexpensive products.Thank you!
