[Personal] Attempted to pop a huge pimple, thought I gave myself MRSA, nurse asked me if a I suffer acne and if I've tried "washing my face"...

Beauty Tips For Body Care
This is a rant and cautionary tale to not pop pimples. Especially the kind that are not ready to be popped. The things I did in this story are what not to do with your skin. You may cringe and become angry. Read at your own risk.I got an underground pimple (which I now know is a cyst) on my cheek. It felt sore, looked unsightly, and I wanted it out of my life. So much so, I was willing to basically cut it out.As an avid pimple popper watcher, I basically know what I'm doing (I don't) and I was ready for some pimple popping action.Phase one: The skin prep. I did a mud mask, warm compression on the zit for five minutes, and I exfoliated the area. The process took a good 30 minutes.Phase two: The big pop. I decided to use my professional training (from Youtube videos) and to bust out my fancy tools. I got everything sanitized and ready to go (comedone extractor and needle). I used the needle and poked the center of my giant cheek monster zit and nothing happened. Confused, but I decided that it needed more, the comedone extractor. I used the tool and pushed down (which ouch btw) and the only thing that came out a little bit of liquid and blood. No pus or white stuff :/ I decided to retreat because the area was swelling up. I thought fuck it and decided to go the old fashion way. I took two tissues and wrapped them around each finger and pressed down on the volcano monster. Nothing came out except tears and cuss words. I dabbed some rubbing alcohol to disinfect the area because I did just jab a needle into my face. (I know rubbing alcohol on the face is a no no...I'm bad). Then I put some tea tree oil on the area and decided to leave it alone. The next morning, I woke up 30 minutes before my alarm clock (which never happens btw, I'm basically Sleeping Beauty without the beauty part) from the pain in my face. I was highly concerned because I never felt this pain before. Then I remembered that people have given themselves MRSA from popping their pimples. I then proceeded to Google MRSA pimple stories and look at pictures for the next 15 minutes. After diagnosing myself, I rushed to my phone to make an appointment. I was asked if I wanted to speak with an advice nurse first and I thought sure why not. I was transferred to a nurse and wow. This guy....should never give any advice about acne. I'm still disappointed as if this happened 5 minutes ago. (It happened yesterday). After breathless explaining that I popped my pimple, it's swollen badly, and hurts and that I might have MRSA, he asked,"Do you suffer from acne?"I replied "Yes, occasionally". That's why I'm calling... about the MRSA monster zit...I shit you not, he said "Have you tried washing your face?"Silence....Mother Fcker! I have an arsenal of skincare products that will last a fcking lifetime. Don't even get me started on how samples I have. Or how I have a shipment from amazon and ulta every month. How I also go to drugstores and Target to find hidden gems at low prices. I can bury you in face wash alone. BURY YOU!I replied meekly, "Yes, twice a day."He replied "Do you have a fever."I didn't.He said to ice the area, wash my face, and to apply benzoyl peroxide (ew irritates my skin, no thanks, boy bye).He said to call back if my symptoms get worse.I realize I may have been dramatic thinking I have MRSA, but I was still offended that he asked if I wash my face.I used a medicated pimple patch sticker and my monster zit has come down significantly. I'm going to be okay. I don't have MRSA.I knew my fellow acne sufferers here at SCA would understand my plight of such a ghastly question.*TL/DR: I popped my own pimple, was a drama queen and thought I gave myself MRSA, called nurse, he asked if I wash my face, duh, don't have MRSA, pimple healing, i'm doing better. *
