[review] What are your thoughts on Glossier skincare?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
So when glossier started to ship to the UK I was first in to try their stuff, having seen the hype over it all. I've just about got to the end of my milky jelly cleanser and priming moisturiser and I've got about half a tube of balm dotcom left now. I thought I'd share my thoughts on them, and see what other people think too.Honestly, my thoughts are that this has been pretty over hyped- and I'm not sure getting it shipped all this way was worth it.Milky jelly cleanser smells nice and it has a weird but satisfying feel to it- the trouble I had with it was that it didn't actually remove my makeup or clean my face properly. I feel like this is a cleanser meant for people who do the Glossier 'no makeup makeup'- it couldn't remove my mascara (which isn't waterproof) and when I swiped toner over my skin more foundation residue came off, so I wonder how much would have been left if I hadn't used a toner. I like that it doesn't foam because foaming cleanser dries me out, but since I discovered cetaphil (thanks to this sub!) I just don't feel like I need milky jelly cleanser on my shelf. I don't hate it- it's good for the second part of a double cleanse, but I think I expected something more from it. Maybe more softness or better cleansing- as it stands it doesn't really do either for me.As for the priming moisturiser, it is a nice makeup base. It leaves a velvety feel on my skin and it didn't break me out or cause my eczema to explode in an angry cacophony of flakes and questions about how I got sunburned in a rainy English winter. But like with the milky jelly cleanser, I think I just expected a bit more from it- it actually reminds me a lot of lait creme concentre by embryolisse in the feel of it, but I think embryolisse did a better job of feeling moisturising and it's definitely easier for me to get here. The tube is pretty and I don't hate it, but like the cleanser I don't feel like it's something I need in my routine. It's easily replaceable. I don't think it's anything special.I do like the balm dotcom. It stays on nicely, doesn't taste of anything and the rose scent is light and pretty. That said, the texture is very similar to lanolips, which I can find in any drugstore here for a pretty similar price. I think if I was ordering from Glossier, I might throw one of these in the basket just because it is nice, but it's another easily replaceable product for me. Pretty, but not essential. So that's my thoughts on the three things I've tried over the past couple of months. I don't dislike any of the products, I've used them to their dregs now, but I think a lot of the brands appeal is in that cool girl, pretty instagrammable product marketing. That's not something that's important to me, I'm happy for people to walk in my bathroom and see bottles I wouldn't put on instagram (if I had it, which I don't, because I don't understand it) but I guess it's an appealing trait for some people. I am curious about a couple of things they have (the solution namely, and the sunscreen) but I'm pretty reticent to buy them and get them hauled over here when so far I feel like these are just easily replaced with things I can get now. What about you guys? Is there anything from glossier you liked, hated, or that you'd recommend anyone trying? Did you find any HG products?
