[personal] PSA to people with textural issues; Hydration/moisturising is much more important than you think! / conversion to the slug life

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey SCAI think I’ve converted over to the dark slug-life side. Let’s begin by giving a bit of background information, shall we?I have oily skin that easily succumbs to dehydration and have battled blackheads and closed comedones ever since I started high school. On top of that, there’s the occasional smattering of blemishes around that time of the month. Fun, right? In order to combat my textural issues, I alternate between lactic and salicylic acid and spot treat with benzac, which works pretty well. HOWEVER, with the cold weather I’m facing right now, my skin obviously wouldn’t be handling the exfoliating too well. Enter my saviour; the almighty occlusive layer.By god, has this occlusive layer made my skin so much better. I started using Vaseline over the top of my moisturiser whilst it was still wet, but found that it Lucas paw paw cream works even better! I woke up with skin that was much more plump, even and brighter than before. And the appearance of my blackheads was actually diminished! I don’t know why, but because of my skin being more hydrated my blackheads appeared flatter! I was stunned! Better yet, my skin stayed this way all freakin day. Yeah. You heard me. All dang day. I’ve been putting paw paw cream over my moisturiser every night for the past three days and it’s been glorious. Even though I have a cold and my skin is usually awful and dull when I’m sick, it looks incredible. Also, I have a slight hunch that maybe, somehow, the paw paw is a slight chemical exfoliant? I feel like the fermented paw paw would act in a similar, but much weaker manner to pineapple extract in facials. So yeah, if you’re struggling with dry skin and acne, give paw paw cream or Vaseline on top of your moisturiser in your PM routine a go. For those who are worried about using Vaseline, the product isn’t comedogenic and petroleum jelly isn’t dangerous at all, so there’s nothing to worry about. Sorry if this post is all over the place and if there are autocorrect errors but I had to get this all out before I forgot!sluglifeforeverNinja edit: blemishes and acne scars will also heal faster if your skin is happy and moisturised.
