[Skin Concerns] Hyperpigmentation routine 2 month progress (pics attached)

Beauty Tips For Body Care
BEFORE/AFTER https://imgur.com/a/I6rdSfmMy acne experience: Around a year ago I started developing painful cystic acne that left me with dark hyperpigmentation (only made worse by the fact that I touch my blemishes). It took me around six months to figure out the problem was hormonal (related to pcos and excess testosterone). My doctor put me on birth control but that only made my acne worse. So, after hours of research I found a daily vitamin routine that works to regulate my hormones and reduce my acne: 500 mg saw palmetto (anti androgen and dht blocker - an herbal alternative to spiro), omega 3, zinc, b complex, vitamin d, magnesiumNext, i had to tackle the scars, which were pretty much black/dark grey in color thanks to my chronic picking and ethnic skin. Since the time my acne started I was wearing concealer, two color corrector, and powder every day to cover my scars. I would avoid going out in the mornings or sleeping at other people's houses because this makeup routine would take me a good half an hour to complete. Can you imagine, having to commit half an hour just to step out of your apartment?Anyway, I tried several skin lightening ingredients. Hydroquinone was effective but it left my skin red, irritated, and sometimes scabbing (which made me want to pick my skin more!!!). My "before" photos show my skin right after I stopped hydroquinone, which is when my skin was at its worst. I decided to adopt a new outlook when it came to treating my scars. Instead of using harsh ingredients and acids in an attempt to heal my marks as quick as possible, I decided to use more gentle and hydrating ingredients. I realized that I tried to be gentle and patient with my skin, it healed quicker and I did not experience an anxiety-induced urge to pick either. So, I have finally found this routine to work best for me:AM- 1. vitamin c 25% (if you have time to spare in the morning use this then wait twenty min.s) 2. Alpha Arbutin The Ordinary 3. Niacinamide (lytera 2.0 - bought this expensive product based on my derm's suggestions but there are a ton of cheaper serums) 4. La Roche Posay Baume B5 healing lotion 5. SPF !!!!! I use colorscience spf 50 powder (medium) and reapply every two hours. Zinc-based protection like this one stay put longer (also poc, you don't get that white cast that you might with high spf liquid sunscreens)PM- 1. vitamin c 25% wait thirty minutes 2. Alpha Arbutin The ordinary 3. Niacinamide 4. Rosehip OilYou can see that my skin is not perfect yet but I am so happy with the results. I can finally go out without makeup and not feel terrible when I wash my face at night. And if i do wear makeup, i don't bother covering the scars. Who says I have to cover them just because im wearing lipstick and eyeliner?Reminders: Remember that the key is patience!!!! Stick to whatever active ingredients you choose and i assure you you will see results within a month. Being patient becomes so much easier when you decide to love your skin. Remember that your skin is a work in progress and that beauty is a state of mind. So, appreciate how your face looks with its unique marks while you still can :)
