Beauty Tips For Body Care
In honor of Halloween, I thought I’d impart you all with a real horror story, for my skin that is. A little background: my skin has always been troubled and acne prone, with most of my breakouts on my chin with the occasional breakout on my cheeks or forehead. This past summer, I had a few more breakouts than normal so I discovered r/skincareaddiction. I overhauled my routine but wasn’t seeing fast enough results. Then I discovered The Ordinary.I ordered almost every product and started testing them. Slowly, my skin got worse and worse but I thought the solution was to keep adding more acids. At my worst, I was using The Ordinary Mandelic Acid, The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc, The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 10%, a Vitamin C serum, The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% and weekly, The Ordinary AHA 30% and the Aztec Clay mask. My skin went from the occasional breakout to my cheeks (which rarely broke out before) being covered in CCs and whiteheads. I thought because my skin wasn’t dry or flaky, using so many acids was fine. It finally took an especially horrible flare up to ask for help on here, which made me realize I was using wayyyy too many acids. I cut out acids cold turkey and my skin immediately calmed down.https://imgur.com/a/smsyRhiBefore is left, after is right. Has definitely improved since the after photo but still not as good as the left.I keep seeing posts on here from people who have started breaking out relatively recently and have a bunch of acids in their routine. If your skin is breaking out and you don’t know why, try stopping all acids, especially if you have more than one or two in your routine.
