Beauty Tips For Body Care
https://imgur.com/a/Q0lyvOUThis was taken after my skincare routine so I might be a lil shiny. If anyone could enlighten me on what this is I'd appreciate it! Acne cyst? Normal cyst? Nodule? Ten inflamed pores having a Halloween party? Thanks in advance. I'll leave some info below but it's cool if you can't be bothered reading it.PREVIOUSLY ON "HELP MY SKIN IS A DRAMA QUEEN"...(if anyone's interested, I love reading people's stories).I'm 24 F in the UK. I've had acne since I was 12ish. I got it from my Dad who took antibiotics for his skin for a ridiculous number of years until he died. We both got/get big under the skin cysts/nodes/red explosions of anger all over our faces which leave PIE, but I would also get hormonal acne (cysts and pustules) on my chin which also leaves PIE. Some of the red marks you see are years old. I never pick or squeeze. My skin is very oily but I have a few dry patches so I'd say its combination. Possibly dehydrated. Whatever it is, it runs in the family.Tried all sorts of topicals for my skin as a teen but as I had undiagnosed (now diagnosed) ADHD, routinely using them was a challenge. As an insecure teen I also couldn't cope with the peeling/dry skin. So I would give up.From 18 to 20, things were chill. Would still get hormomal acne but cysts were few and far between. Then from 20 to 23, it slowly got worse again as I started a PhD.So at the end of last year I got into a routine with my ADHD meds and started a skincare routine full of acids which didn't do anything to help my acne. I realised I needed divine intervention from the NHS. Got given Duac and antibiotics as a prescription from the GP and was told they'd refer me to derm if it didn't get better. Got a new basic skincare routine with no other actives (I can't remember what this consisted of except I used the LaRoche Posay moisturiser designed for skin made dry with acne treatments. I'll post my current routine below). I also went vegan January of last year which helped a lot, especially with my hormonal acne. Hated the antibiotics but used Duac for about 4 months and had an amazing result. Clearest skin I've ever had. PIE was still there but I honestly didn't care as long as the active acne was gone.PRESENT DAY: Fell out of my routine over Summer with bad mental health (a recurring theme). Acne came back. Eventually, so did my resolve to tackle it. Bought Duac privately (helping the NHS and all that) again and started my routine again. Happy with how my skin is looking and then this badboy pops up (possibly a purge).ROUTINE (again if you care):Preparing for the Duac and winter dryness my focus was on hydration.Morning - Wash with CosRX morning gel cleanser, Hado Labo lotion thingy, BodyShop Vitamin E essence, TO Niacinimide/Zinc, TO Alpha Arbutin, Vitamin E gel moisturiser. No SPF yet (CosRX aloe SPF is on its way as is TO Ascorbyl Glucoside).(FYI: The Vit E range has wheat germ oil which is HIGHLY comodogenic apparently. I should have researched the range more before buying but I saw "hydrating" and went for it. I don't think it's broken me out but then again there's an inflamed 5 pence coin sized lump on my face...).Afternoon: Hefty dose of PhD stress.Night: Remove eye make up with micellar water, double cleanse with BodyShop chamomile oil then CosRX gentle morning cleanser. Hado Labo lotion. Duac. Wait for 30 minutes (especially as I'm using a moisturiser with antioxidant properties). BodyShop VitE night cream or Antipodes night cream. If you read this whole thing I'm super impressed. Thanks for reading.
