Beauty Tips For Body Care
The past month or so I have been struggling with some painful acne, which I (luckily) had not experienced before until now. I might not be the most severe case of acne but it has massively affected my self-esteem, I don't go outside unless I really need to and I'll be wearing a baseball cap or try to hide my acne with my hair as much as possible. I also recently started dating someone new and I've been really insecure around him (even though he has been amazing and helpful). I'm hoping you guys have some advice on how to cope with it mentally. This is what it currently looks like (at its worst)https://i.imgur.com/0SzYF98.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/1OVrwyI.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/UOwwtpQ.jpgI'm suspecting it's hormonal acne, because I stopped birth control 11 months ago, I didn't get my period for 9-10 months afterwards. Since June I've had my first two periods, which is also when my skin started getting worse, possibly my hormones are finally regulating? I'm considering starting birth control again, but I'm reluctant because of this. Also my acne is only on the bottom half of my face, around the mouth, chin, cheeks and jawline. I also have some closed comedones on my chin which I'm sure will turn into acne at some point. Other things that might contribute to my acne are shaving my face, I shaved my face before the acne started, which initially went well. Also could the acne around my mouth be because of my boyfriend's facial hair? It's also worth mentioning that for the past month I have been using benzoyl peroxide consistently, but it hasn't been working for me at all, it's making my skin extremely dry and itchy and I can't wear makeup anymore without looking like I have a skin disease. I've also been getting new breakouts and it doesn't really help to heal my old breakouts. I also would say my skin is on the normal to dry side. I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow, I'm hoping to get a referral to a dermatologist and I'm considering starting birth control and possibly tretinoin or adapalene. I'm wondering what worked for you guys.My current routine:AMGarnier micellar water for sensitive skinRinse with waterSometimes I use La Roche Posay Toleriane Innovation dermo-cleanser under the shower as wellCerave face moisturizing lotion (European version of Cerave PM) on damp faceOn days that I go outside I use La Roche Posay Anthelios Shaka fluid SPF 50 sunscreenPMGarnier micellar water for sensitive skinLa Roche Posay Toleriane Innovation dermo-cleanserCerave face moisturizing lotion on damp faceBenzoyl peroxide, which I recently stopped using.I would really appreciate you guys' advice and insight.
