Beauty Tips For Body Care
If you're seeking an incredibly gentle chemical sunscreen then this could be the one for you! Biore UV Kids Milk SPF 50 PA++++ is alcohol-free, fragrance-free, water-proof, sweat-proof, coloring-free, zero white cast, and free of all common irritants/unnecessary ingredients. It's one of the only sunscreens that doesn't annoy my very sensitive, acne-prone, easily reddened, and (currently) badly dehydrated face. It's never caused me to break out. Despite being water-resistant it washes off easily at the end of the day with a mild cleanser (I use Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser) which I really appreciate due to the fact that any kind of scrubbing of my face stings and burns while it's in this dehydrated state. This sunscreen does contain petrolatum, so if that's a sensitivity of yours or an ingredient that you prefer to avoid, you may want to avoid this sunscreen. Personally, I don't find that it makes the sunscreen feel greasy or heavy and it's never cause me to break out. It leaves a delicate dewy coating on my face that I really like (for reference, it has a slightly thicker consistency than Neutrogena's Hydroboost Gel Cream). The addition of petrolatum is invaluable for my dehydrated skin as I feel that it forms a slight occlusive barrier over my morning moisturizer (Cerave Moisturizing Cream or Hada Labo Skin Plumping Gel) to prevent TEWL along with protecting my skin from the sun. It's available on Amazon in a cheerful-looking 90g yellow bottle. It does take a while to arrive because of how far it has to ship, but it's well worth the wait. I personally adore this sunscreen and will never be without it. I never thought I'd be able to say that I look forward to applying sunscreen every day!UV filters used: Octinoxate, Tinosorb S, Uvinul A Plus, and Uvinul T 150Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, C12-15 Akyl Benzoate, Glycerin, Propanediol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Mehtoxyphenyl Triazine, Glyceryl Behenate, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Dimethicone, Cetyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Distearate, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Stearoyl Glutamic Acid, Paraffin, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Ceresin, Isohexadecane, Arginine, Lauryl Methacrylate/Sodium Methacrylate Crosspolymer, PEG-12 Dimethicone, Polysorbate 80, Dextrin Palmitate, Disodium EDTA, Agar, Succinic Acid, BHT, Petrolatum, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Sodium Dehydroacetate

[Routine Help] Recovering from depression and haven't taken care of my skin in a long time - What can I do to make some initial improvements and feel better about myself?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
2018 and 2019 have been hard years for me. My husband and I struggled with infertility. In 2018 I got pregnant only to lose the baby. What followed was a long year of depression. I spiraled, and stopped taking care of myself in many ways. I learned I was pregnant once again a couple of months ago and I am feeling better now that I am out of the first trimester. I am trying to take better care of my skin by cleansing it morning and night again but don't really know what else to do.My skin is in bad shape now. It's rough in texture, with large pores and blackheads, and a lot of redness around my nose and mouth. I've also got dry patches of red skin on my forehead and nose, yet I am also oily in those spots too. When I was very depressed I really didn't care what I looked like. Now I'm feeling better emotionally, but realizing how bad my skin is has gotten to me.Is it too much to hope that I can turn my skin around in a month? What can I do, what should I be doing first? Should I get a facial first?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I’ve been dealing with serious fatigue for weeks and just got bloodwork back... my vitamin D is waaaay below normal. With skin cancer running in my family I’m fanatical about SPF and it didn’t occur to me that, duh, blocking the sun also blocks Vitamin D absorption. And I don’t eat a ton of fish or drink milk.Picked up some supplements today. So just remember, y’all: get that D!

[Review] A year’s worth of product tries. Murad, DE, e.l.f. And more!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Wanted to share my experience with a looot of products I’ve tried over the last 12 months to try and get my skincare in line! Here’s the TLDR on my skin journey; had acne, moderate, but EVERYWHERE, since puberty. Got really bad. Found a skincare group. Through education and trying things out my skin is the best it’s ever been. Ever. (I’m 27F for reference)Skin: oily, was dehydrated, semi-sensitive, very acne prone, some acne scarring, and folks I am a PICKER. Acne was closed comedones, whiteheads and blackheads galore. Potentially a little smidge of fungal acne. Problem spots were jaw, above my lip, cheek bones, neck and my shoulders. It’s taken a lot of learning about skincare routines, reading peoples posts/comments, reading simpleskincarescience, watching youtubers like Beauty Within/Caroline Hiron/James Welsh/etc and experimenting/having patience but I’ve got my skin in the best condition it’s ever been!My shoulders, which haven’t been free of a pimple in 5 years minimum, are totally cleared up. My face is glowing, I listen to it, I’ve deducted my picking by 95% (if I’d stop staring in the mirror so much I could stop completely lol), and my acne is basically completely gone! I have little tiny breakouts, and occasional whiteheads. But they are so small, insignificant and they definitely aren’t nearly as inflamed as the past has been! And I walk around without concealer or foundation on!REVIEWS! (With prices!) *anything with a price point and a size means it’s sold in a variety of sizese.l.f. Bounce Back Jelly cleanser ($6 USD) This is a really simple, gentle cleanser. I used this in the mornings after I worked out because I didn’t need anything crazy or strong, just something to get off the dirt and sweat. Obviously the price point is clutch. I think it’d be a great cleanser so people who don’t have many acne issues, or the acne issues are minimal. Especially for college students and teenagers who aren’t looking to pour money into a skincare routine but want to get into the habit/routine. Rating - 3.5/5 Will I repurchase? NoVanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser ($9 USD) This is my holy grail. The price point is unbeatable. It’s so gentle, yet effective. I’ve used it both as a stand alone cleanser and as a second cleanse. Makes your skin feel clean without being stripped. Easily accessible (it’s in drugstores and it’s on amazon). Great for sensitive skin and fungal acne. Also gets eye makeup off really well without irritating the eyes. Lathers, but not overly. Rating - 5/5 Will I repurchase? Yessss!Fresh Soy Face cleanser ($15 USD/50ml) I got a trail of this with a Sephora order and I was really excited about it. However I used it twice and both times my skin burned upon application and I almost immediately had to wash it off. It was my first time using a soy product, so that’s the only thing I can think of that bothered my skin. Rating - 1/5 Will I repurchase? NoMurad Essential-C Cleanser ($39 USD) This was a great beginner cleanser for me. It was my second try in the Murad line (which I do enjoy their products but they are a little pricey). This has the little gel roller balls in it. Very gentle on the skin but didn’t really do much in improving my skin. Rating - 3/5 Will I repurchase? NoFirst Aid Beauty Face Cleanser ($21 USD) The biggest thing I wasn’t a fan of with this cleanser was the smell. Smelled kind of like playdough (which I’ve always hated the smell of). The texture is that like a lotion, doesn’t really leather but definitely gets you clean and a little goes a long way. Did leave my skin feeling a LITTLE tight afterwards. I used this for a couple weeks and found myself having more small whiteheads and small breakouts then normal. Switched to another cleanser and my breakouts disappeared. Rating - 2/5 Will I repurchase? NopeDrunk Elephant Beste Jelly Cleanser ($32 USD) So I was really surprised by this. I got a free trial size of this and the protini for my birthday gift through Sephora. I wasn’t sure I even wanted to try it with all the very unimpressive customer service garbage they’ve been doing. But I’m doing a no buy until all my goodies are used up so I went to try it... crap guys I loved it. Great texture (way better than elf imo) and really lathers. No scent. Didn’t feel dry and tight afterwards. Rating - 5/5 Will I repurchase? Maybe. I have issues with their public relations/customer service and feedback.Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm ($34 USD/90ml) This was my first cleansing balm. Really enjoyed the smell (smells “fresh”) and how long the jar lasted me. Great at melting off makeup and sunscreen. Definitely recommend using a washcloth and not just trying to rinse it off - the oil gets pretty runny if you’re trying to just rinse it off. Rating - 4/5 Will I repurchase? YesCaudalie Micellar Water ($28 USD) This was my first stab at double cleansing. I don’t know why I went for a more expensive micellar water but here we are. Overall my skin loved it. Took off concealer/SPF/foundation but didn’t dry out my skin. However I wear mascara fairly often and this was TERRIBLE for getting eye makeup off. Rating - 3/5 Will I repurchase? NoPaula’s Choice Enriched Calming Toner ($21 USD) Living in the desert I decided to go with a hydrating toner. This one was milky, love the texture. Makes my skin feel plump and hydrated after application. Only downside was I bought it from amazon and the bottom of the bottle was warped and I didn’t notice the first time I went to use it - when I set it down it fell over and spilled half out. Other than that no issues! Rating - 4/5 Will I repurchase? Yese.l.f. Keep Your Balance Hydrating Toner ($8 USD) Hydrating? Nope not here. Disappointed in this, honestly. Was super excited BUT alcohol debate is high up on their ingredients list. I tried it out for a few days anyways and could definitely feel how tight my skin got afterwards. Really bummed. Rating - 2/5 Will I repurchase? NoSephora Eye Brightening Cream ($16 USD) Holy luxurious Batman. This is a holy grail for sure. I didn’t even know I would enjoy an eye cream! I really loved a trial size of their All Day Hydrator so I ordered that and honestly tacked this on to the purchase because I thought “why not?” This feels so creamy and delicate on your skin, soaks in beautifully, and the results seem instant. Rating - 5/5 Will I repurchase? Yes!LilyAna Naturals Eye Cream ($20 USD) So I accidentally ordered this right before I bought the Sephora eye cream and didn’t realize it. So I decided to use both. I enjoy this eye cream but it’s definitely thicker, takes more time to soak in. So I use this one at night, on most nights. It’s hard to tell which has had the better results, but I think both eye creams have done wonders for the bags under my eyes! Rating - 4/5 Will I repurchase? No, simply because the Sephora is my favorite and I don’t need two.Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence ($18 USD) I have nothing but good things to say about this essence. Definitely added an additional layer of moisture that my skin has really needed. I loved the way it felt on my skin and how long the bottle lasted. The price point is clutch for being able to use it 2x a day for about 6 months. Only downside was besides adding moisture I’m not sure it really did much for my skin. Rating - 4/5 Will I repurchase? Maybe. The Ordinary Niacinimide 10% + Zinc 1% ($5.90 USD) This didn’t do anything for me which was really disappointing. My shoulders had great success with zinc so I had high hopes for this. Didn’t irritate my skin but I saw no difference between days I used it and days I didn’t. Rating - 3/5 Will I repurchase? NopeSephora All Day Hydrator ($16 USD) Like it’s sister (the eye cream) this felt surprisingly luxurious on my face. LOVE for a day time moisturizer. Soaks in quickly. Makes my skin feel very silky. Doesn’t overdo it. Only downside? Fragrance.... Rating - 4/5 Will I repurchase? AbsolutelyCosRX Honey Ceramide Cream ($20 USD) This surprised me as well. This was my first CosRX product and man have I loved it. The jar is small so that was a little disappointing but a little goes a long way. This is my nighttime moisturizer and it’s my favorite by far. It feels halfway between a gel and a cream. Rating - 4/5 Will I repurchase? YesCeraVe Moisturizing Cream in the tub ($15 USD/19oz) This was my first night time moisturizer. Personally this works really well for my skin. Biggest downside is that it feels a lot thicker than I want, but honestly it’s really doable. Great for folks with sensitive skin. Loved it especially for the cost. Rating - 3/5 Will I repurchase? Probably notThe Ordinary Rosehip Oil ($9.80 USD) This oil is my jam. I throw this on all by itself or on top of my moisturizer at night. I live in the desert currently and this has been a delight to have in my routine. Nothing but good things to say. Wouldn’t recommend it as a part of your day routine though, doesn’t soak up quickly. Rating - 4/5 Will I repurchase? YesBiossance Squalane + Tea Tree Balancing Oil ($49 USD) My skin HATED this. I got a trial size from Sephora. I read lots of great things about squalane and I’ve used products that have tea tree oil in them before... tried it three separate times and I broke out all three times. This was a total no-go for me. disappeared. Rating - 1/5 Will I repurchase? NopeMurad Multi Vitamin Infusion Oil ($73 USD) This was the first ever oil I tried as I was breaking out into the skincare world. I had a trial size and slapped it on just to try and I almost instantly saw results. This helped a lot with my healing acne spots. It’s lightweight enough to use it during the day time (I often do) and it soaks in quickly. It is fragranced. It is expensive. BUT! I did thoroughly enjoy it. The bottle does last quite a while. Rating - 4/5 Will I repurchase? Maybe if it was $20 lessDrunk Elephant Marula Oil ($72 USD/30ml) Got this as a part of the night bright kit with Sephora. Tended to sit on top of my face for quite a while. Definitely felt thicker than rosehip which I just didn’t enjoy. Didn’t seem to break me out but didn’t seem to do anything for my skin. Rating - 2/5 Will I repurchase? NopeLilyAna Naturals Retinol Cream ($20 USD) My first Retinol of any type. I’ve really loved it. I saw some minor improvements basically overnight. Very non-irritating. I’d say a great start for folks wanting to dive into retinol but want to start light and inexpensive. Very thick cream, goes on easily, lasts a while. Rating - 4/5 Will I repurchase? Very likelyDrunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum ($90 USD) I hate the price point so much. Again the customer service really makes me not want to purchase from the brand. I do enjoy this Serum. It hasn’t performed any miracles but it doesn’t irritate my skin. It does do some good overnight. I only use it once a week. Rating - 3/5 Will I repurchase? Probably not. So many AHA/BHAs on the market for way less with same results. The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA ($6.80 USD) I found this to be perfectly effective and simultaneously gentle. Great price point. I’ve got nothing bad to say about it to be honest! Rating - 4/5 Will I repurchase? ProbablyGlow Recipe Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask ($22 USD/30ml) Tried this on a whim and LOVED it. Skins always wakes up glowing. So soft. So gentle on my skin. If you can handle the fragrance then I highly suggest trying it. Probably my favorite AHA product to try. Rating - 5/5 Will I repurchase? YesOrigins Retexturing Mask ($13 USD/30ml) Did nothing good, did nothing bad. The texture freaked me out at first (wasn’t prepared for it to have that texture). This is my “I want to relax and zone out” mask because it doesn’t nothing for me but I don’t have to change up my routine to use it. Rating - 3/5 Will I repurchase? Nopee.l.f. Moisturizing Sleeping Mask ($12 USD) I broke out in small hives and/or fungal acne the second time I used it. It was a bummer because I loved the way it felt on my face. Again I think this is a good product for a younger person with little acne issues and needing to establish a routine. Rating - 2/5 Will I repurchase? NopeEtude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish SPF ($10 USD) Hands down favorite SPF. Dries with a matte finish. Tiny bottle but lasts quite a long time. Had done an excellent job in protecting my face from getting sunburnt this summer! I’ve had no issues with pore clogging. Rating - 5/5 Will I repurchase? AbsolutelyDermaZinc Z Bar ($18 USD for a pack of 3 bars) This was my back/shoulders lifesaver. I tried a bunch of stuff. BP and SA were doing nothing (I tried both body wash and wipes/creams) and I was near the points of tears. I tried the Head and Shoulders as body wash trick, and this just dried my skin out. Thennn I tried this... it still took a month but this is the clearest my body acne has been since I was 16! This is my holy grail for my body acne. Rating - 5/5 Will I repurchase? AlwaysI typed this all on my phone so forgive me... hope it helps!

[Research] TIL salicylic acid has UV protectant properties, and one of its salt forms used to be an FDA approved sunscreen
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Consider my mind blown. I've always thought of salicylic acid (BHA) as a photosensitizer like glycolic acid and AHAs, but apparently the opposite is true. The use of salicylic acid is contraindicated prior to UVB therapy (where a patient's skin is purposefully exposed to UVB light, usually to treat psoriasis) because it blocks UVB radiation. (1, 2, 3, 4)In vivo studies also show that salicylic acid blocks UVA radiation (1, 2) suggesting it is also contraindicated before PUVA therapy (combination of UVA light and the oral drug psoralen for treatment for various skin disorders, graft-versus-host disease, and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma).I would guess it does still increase photosensitivity if the skin is overexfoliated. This does make me feel less worried about using SA-containing products in the morning under sunscreen, though! Also, regarding trolamine salicylate, a salt formed by combining salicylic acid and triethanolamine (a base which neutralizes the pH of salicylic acid):It's mainly used as an analgesic agent in Aspercreme-type muscle rubs. It is sometimes used as an additive to increase the photostability of topical medications and cosmetics, though.Trolamine salicylate was also used as a UV filter in some sunscreens, but as of 2019 the FDA explicitly does NOT recommend its use in sunscreens any longer because of safety and efficacy concerns. Basically, sunscreens have to sit on the surface of the skin in order to actually work. Trolamine salicylate, however, absorbs deeper into the skin and therefore is not as effective as other sunscreen filters. (1)Additionally, liberal reapplication of trolamine salicylate can cause "serious detrimental health effects, including bleeding, caused by the anti-coagulation effects of salicylic acid." We know this because there have been cases where people have repeatedly slathered on large amounts of analgesic creams containing trolamine salicylate prior to surgery or while taking blood thinners and had adverse effects as a result. If people were to apply a sunscreen with trolamine salicylate to their whole body every 2 hours, that could be quite risky. (1)tl;dr: Salicylic acid has UVA and UVB filtering/protectant properties shown in vivo and in vitro. In addition, its derivative trolamine salicylate was previously used in sunscreens but is no longer FDA approved due to risks outweighing the benefits. Also, if you just skimmed this post and think this means you should toss out your sunscreen for some Stridex... no. Just no.

[B&A] Feb 2019 to now. I’m posting this as an encouragement to myself and others that progress and improvement doesn’t always look like flawless skin. Sometimes, it’s taking it as a victory when your face just *hurts* less. Or that you only have five new breakouts this morning instead of 15.

[Personal] Starting my skincare journey
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Long story short: I have bad skin. I'm insecure about it, it gets physically painful sometimes, and I want to change it. I'm making this post to hold myself accountable, remind myself of my goals, and maybe even to get a little bit of encouragement or recommendations from all of you lovely people (you all seek to be very nice and knowledgeable, this is a great community!)My skin is dry, red, sensitive, and I have acne. I went on some pills for a while a few years ago (antibiotics, I think) and they did nothing. I went to a (rather expensive) makeup store and they gave me a very long and very expensive routine. I'm an unemployed uni student and I just don't have the money for it all. I'm trying to come up with a cheaper, simpler routine than that (at the moment I moisturise twice a day and I've just bought some witch hazel toner that I'm also going to use daily) and hopefully improve my skin. I know there are also some lifestyle changes I need to make - I don't have the greatest diet, I tend to take very hot showers, and I compulsively touch my face and pick my skin due to my ADD - and I'm trying to get better at those too.If any of you have any recommendations, I would really appreciate them! I'm gonna keep lurking on this sub for inspiration and ideas. I've just discovered this community but I really love it and I hope it will help me. Thanks for listening to (reading?) my rant. I'm excited for my journey to start.

[Review] The 7 products I use on my seemingly impossible skin (long).
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I posted here a lot last year/beginning of 2019 as I navigated my skin issues. Wanted to follow up.General gist of this post: How I cleared my hormonal cystic acne and balanced my painfully sensitive/allergenic skin with seven products under $20 for a total monthly budget of about $30/month (minus sunscreen).Skin type pre progesterone only birth control: Normal, leaning dry. Occasional eczema and rosacea.Skin type post progesterone only birth control: Combo, leaning dry. Severely dehydration prone (so it seemed combo leaning oily). Severe hormonal cystic acne on chin (extremely painful) and KP along jaw. Much more frequent issues with eczema and rosacea.Ingredient issues: Hives with fatty alcohols. Botanicals are very iffy. Silicones are fine depending on composition but can be problematic. Honey and propolis cause cysts. Cannot touch a drying alcohol or fragrance with a 10 foot pole. Basically most things will give me rosacea at best and a straight up allergic reaction at worst. The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser -You guys. This cleanser changed my skin. I know a lot of folks here are sort of meh on cleansers as long as they are the appropriate pH, but apparently my skin hates even the most gentle surfectants and any cleanser I used daily was causing severe irritation, eczema, and rosacea flares but not using a cleanser daily was giving me cystic acne. Apparently, for me, everything rides on having the right cleanser and The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser is it. Within a week of use, my skintone was brighter and more even. My pores were not angry and hungry for moisture. Any rough spots or textural issues basically disappeared. This is the only cleanser that I ever put on my face now and I have not experienced any episodes of dehydration or sensitization since using it. If I need to remove makeup (rare), I use straight oil of some sort (not picky, usually chia seed or whatever "extra" oils I have on hand). I have been using this since release. The Ordinary Mandelic Acid -Cannot say enough good things about this exfoliant. I can use it generously, and daily. The ability to use an exfoliant daily has dramatically changed my skin. With the exception of a hormonal flux one week out of the month, it's resolved the KP along my jaw and I rarely (if ever) have any textural issues on my forehead now. Brightening, somehow hydrating, smoothing -- I love it. My sister comments on my "glow" all the time and it cracks me up. I have been using this for about six months. I noticed results about one month in.Paula's Choice 2% BHA -I use a drop of this this daily along my eyebrows -- I wear big glasses and I think they contribute to breakouts along my eyebrows. This resolves it. I just get the travel size and it lasts me the year. I also use it on my nose a few times a week. I have been using this for almost a year.Differin Gel -I love you, Differin. Please never leave me. Differin, in combination with a non-irritating routine, has completely resolved my hormonal cystic acne on my chin. I only use it on my chin. I have been using Differin for about 9 months -- I have not had a single pimple on my chin in at least 4 months. I stopped having cysts entirely after 3 months of use. I do not use any other exfoliant on my chin and regret it the few times I have tried. Other than that, I have no issues with irritation or dryness that can't be remedied by my moisturizer. The Ordinary Marula Oil -I also love you, Marula Oil. I use Marula Oil daily on my irritation and eczema prone spots -- so forehead, and apples of my cheeks. I have not had any irritation on my forehead since using marula oil. I was terrified it would cause breakouts, and I suspect it might on my chin, but it's a god send everywhere else and I think its contribution to my skin health has reduced breakouts. I have been using this for at least six months.Timeless Squalane, and Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel -These two combined are my moisturizer. Chickpea sized dollop of Care Gel + 1 drop squalane, mix in hand, apply dots to face, rub in. Extra Care Gel where needed. I love this combination -- it took me awhile to get the ratios right to get that sweet spot of moisturization without pilling but now we are best buds. I have been using this combo for almost a year.Erin's Faces Peptide Sunscreen -It's a sunscreen that doesn't pill and doesn't irritate my skin. I live in a chronically low UV index location and I am very rarely out during the day, so sunscreen isn't a huge concern in my routine. I generally want what little sun exposure I get. This is the one product I use that is not budget friendly, but I am happy to pay the price for this one for as infrequently as I need it, because it lasts a very long time for a very good product. I have been using this for about three months.Lifestyle -I rarely wear makeup. This wasn't to help my skin, I just don't. Thought it would be worth mentioning because my cleanser needs are different, though I really do find any straight oil followed by my cleanser is plenty on the days I do wear makeup or sunscreen. My husband has a milk protein allergy and dairy is a migraine trigger for me, so my dairy intake is minimal to none. Other than that, I do not restrict food groups (including sugar), but I do eat a lot of fruits and veggies. I am liberal with plant based fats in my diet and generally get enough fluids.Vitamin D absolutely improved my skin. I relied on supplements a lot while I was getting things sorted out and issues cropped back up very quickly when I would run out of or get lazy with my Vitamin D supplements. This is still true today. I also relied a lot on zinc picolinate in the early days but don't seem to need it anymore. I also take fish oil, probiotics, and magnesium glycinate daily. I also have two servings of collagen powder daily -- this is mostly for protein and I have no idea what impact it has made on my skin. With the exception of collagen, all of these supplements have been prescribed by and are monitored by multiple physicians (yay chronic health issues!). Talk to your doctor before adding supplements.Anyway! I really appreciate all the things I learned browsing this sub and thought I would contribute with some lengthy reviews. Feel free to ask questions. I might be comfortable sending B/A pictures in PM, still deciding.

[Routine help] Body is scarred all over from uncontrolled OCD and skin picking. Help me figure out how to recover?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi everyone,So I'll do the embarrassing thing first. Here's a picture of the problem. Warning, I'm a big guy and there's a lot of scars. No nudity but it's not a nice picture.https://imgur.com/a/Xas2k0OSo, I've had skin picking as an ocd thing since I was a kid. My skin looks awful now. I have a doctor for the mental side now and it's going well. I just need to try to figure out what to do with what I've done to myself.I've been using TO Granactive retinoid in squalene and TO 7% Glycolic acid daily. Is this the right course of action? Most all of the skincare routines posted are primarily for a concentrated area, such as the face. What should one do if their entire body is like this? Thanks for any advice.

[Review] Update on my Experience with Restylane Tear Trough Fillers
Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I wanted to update anyone who saw my previous post about getting under eye fillers. I was really happy with the look and everything was fine until about a week ago when I was doing my hair and started to see a bruise forming under my one eye. I was very surprised as it had been a full week since I had the fillers done (For reference: Got fillers on 8/14, got bruise on 8/21, currently updating with no change to bruise today 8/29)Picture of bruise on 8/14 and current stateIt isn't necessarily getting worse at this point, but it is unchanging. I love the way my eyes turned out, but this bruise is really bringing me down, especially since I followed the doctors orders to the t. I went in to have her look at it and she basically poked at it, told me she gets them herself and to give it time. She also prescribed me a $4 over the counter cream, "Desoximetasone USP, 0.25%" and an $85 skin bleaching cream if that doesn't work....I'm really at a loss and kind of upset. Has anyone else had a bruising experience as such? It is RIGHT on the tear trough so I'm hoping that once the fillers dissolve it will go too...hopefully the bruise isn't permanent. I will keep updating over time if anyone is interested.*Note: This is on the side that gave the doctor the most trouble while injecting

[Misc] What are your go-to websites to find products suitable for your needs and to check their ingredients before you buy them?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I was talking with a girl via Instagram today about skincare. Midst our conversation, she sent me a link to Beautypedia and told me that’s the best place to look for products because it’s “research based”. Well, due to opinions on here, I don’t believe that. What about y’all? What websites and what are some social media influencers that you trust most when buying products? Especially if you’re sensitive to certain ingredients. For example, I can’t use anything with silicones, alcohol denatured, coconut oil, witch hazel, essential oils and fragrance. Thus, I like CosDNA and Incidecoder.

[Routine Help] I need help figuring out how to add these products to my routine.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've been struggling with acne for the past 6 months and my skin is finally starting to clear up. YAY. I have red acne scars everywhere, lots of ice pick scars, VERY large pores and a bunch of CCs on my cheekbones and neck. Pretty dry skin, NO BLACKHEADS (not a single one). I'm never oily.Actives in my current routine:Pixi Glow Tonic -- am, every dayTret 2.5% -- pm, every other dayBP 3% -- pm, every other day (basically alternating with the tret)CosRX Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser -- am and pmAlso using the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Shaka Ultra Light Facial Sun Cream SPF50 in the am.Here are the products I'd like to add to my routine:AHAs for exfoliation (one of them, not sure which one, so suggestions are good):The Ordinary Mandelic Acid 10% + HAPaula's Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel Exfoliant(I've heard really good things about the PC one, so I'm thinking of trying it)BHAs for my CCsPaula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid ExfoliantNiacinamide for my acne scarsPaula's Choice Skin Balancing Pore-Reducing TonerHA (one of them, again not sure which one):The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5Tarte mermaid skin™ hyaluronic H2O serumMoisturizerTarte Maracuja OilDr. Jart+ Ceramidin™ CreamTarte Rainforest of the Sea™ deep sea collagen super serum (I think this one has HA as well)Physical exfoliator (do I need one if I use AHAs/BHAs?)Tatcha Rice PolishMy problem is, I'd try them all. I'm rather PARANOID about how not using as many products as possible will reduce my chances of improving EVERYTHING about my skin. I'm sick, lol.Which of these products would you recommend and what order would I use them in? I'm confused and don't want to screw things up when my skin is the best it's been in a loooooong time.Budget is not an issue, fortunately!Thank you, lovelies! :)[edit] Forgot to mention sunscreen. Budget not an issue, actually. :)

[Product Question]Niacinamide that doesn’t cause pilling
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I’ve been on my current routine for about half a year. So far so good, I’m not getting any breakouts, skin is hydrated, PIH and freckles are fading well.I recently decided to add TO’s niacinamide serum into my routine, and whooooo boy, I can’t get it to work for me at all. I’ve tried switching around the order in which I apply my stuff, I’ve tried taking products out, I pat products in gently instead of rubbing, I’ve waited for my skin to absorb each step. The niacinamide serum just won’t stop pilling!I really want the benefits of niacinamide. Does anyone know of an effective niacinamide serum that does not pill at a reasonable price? I tried the one from Skin Inc a couple of times, and it’s great, but way too pricey. I’ve heard that Shark Sauce and Skinlex are good, but I worry about bacterial growth. I’m looking for something made in a lab- no homemade serums, thank you. Thank you for reading my post! Looking forward to your suggestions.

[personal] should i care about acne that isnt visible to most people? how many of you have "nice skin" from afar but up close is a different story?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have some closed comedomes near my chin at the corners of my mouth. But they are very faint. ;like when i angle my mouth a certain way, you can see tinted white skin. they are barely visible but I know they are there so it bothers me. But should i care though?I see so many people with such nice clear skin. But how likely is it that they have these same tiny bumps on their face? I always examine my skin an inch away from a mirror. Ive never gotten to see other peoples "nice skin" this close so waht do i know

[product question] acne body spray reccs?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Just saw an ad for the Paula's Choice 2% salycilic acid body spray. This seems like an awesome option for acne on the body/back/hard to reach areas. Has anyone had any experience with these sprays, and if so, what are some good ones? The Paula's Choice one looks great but would love something cheaper.

[Routine Help] Hand care
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Everyone knows you can tell someone’s age by looking at the hands and neck, since good skincare on the face can subtract years.I pretty much just do the same routine on my neck as I do my face, but what should I be doing on my hands?I generally keep them moisturized, if only by rubbing in leftover from my body on them, but what else should I do? I’m guessing sunscreen, for sure, but I’m not sure I need to do my whole face routine on them, too... or should I?

[Routine Help] TO Niacinamide 10%+Zinc 1% is it bad for Dehydration?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I’ve heard that Niacinamide is barrier enhancing, but I’ve also heard that TO’s serum can be drying for those without acne/oily skin. Should I still try to use this product to fix my broken skin barrier or will it just make things worse? First application made my skin feel a little dry.Anyone else have any HG favorite products focused on Niacinamide? Preferably without hyaluronic acid or sodium hyaluronate because that also dries me out.

[Hair Removal] thoughts on dermaplanning at home (eyebrow razor for face)?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
hello!(couldnt link an image but google search: dermaplanning tool/eyebrow razor)so ive seen multiple videos of girls using that technique at home saying it removes peach fuzz, dead skin and makes your face 'acne free' as an alternative to chemicals (face washes) since it removes dead skin + bacteria = which cause acne. now im not sure if thats the case exactly..heres the thing, i actually discovered the whole 'dermaplanning' thing when i was searching for alternative ways to get rid of peach fuzz (i use sugar wax, but was told too much 'wax use' on the face stretches the skin and might cause premature wrinkles) i also get lil bumps afterwards that last a few days..i know girls who trim their peach fuzz (honestly, dont know hows that possible since their hair is so tiny) and swear that this is the best way -- but if they skip trimming for one day the peach fuzz on their chins would be sooo visible, 'pokey' (is that a word?) and i dont think thats normal for natural female facial hair to feel this rough..i guess?so i got tempted to try that technique when i knew it removes dead skin. that means less acne! (i hope).but my excitement kinda went down when i went out to buy that magical 'dermaplaning' tool to realise it was basically an eyebrow razor (.-.) a razorrrr??? wouldnt it grow peach fuzz thicker?!people on youtube swear by it though...so i cant make up my mind...whatcha guys think? do i give it a try, or does anyone know better alternatives? or shall i just stick to my traditional sugar wax?

[Misc][Personal][PSA] Amazon Fires & Palm Oil?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey SCA!I was wondering if anyone else is concerned by the Amazon fires being related to the high demand for palm oil and how it's in so much skincare? I think it's in almost all my products and I didn't even realize it until last week (sneaky ingredient derivatives!). I'm happy to hear other thoughts or have this debunked, but the research I've done seemed to be pretty clear. I guess I'm just wondering how other are processing this and if you're making changes to your routine, either small or drastic. If this is a real problem, I'd like to ethically boycott it just like Nestle. Thanks in advance for discussion, folks! :)

[PSA] If Lanolin doesn't work in hydrating your lips, try a lip oil
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I was so excited to learn about lanolin working magic on chapped lips, so I finally got some nipple cream minis (I know, I know) as recommended on ScA and swiped some over my lips before bed a few nights a few weeks ago.To my dismay, I found it didn't do much at all, but I guess I had heard such good things that I expected it to be amazing for chapped, dry lips.So I was back to looking for something that might work and I found Ulta brand lip oils after a recommendation from an employee who had the most gorgeous lips. I topped off my lips at night and although it felt viscous at first, within minutes, it absorbed into my skin and I could barely feel it. It does have a slight scent to it (it's says it's "juice infused"). The scent doesn't bother me and some of the red lip oils might leave a slight tint, so it could be a natural lip oil to use in the daytime.Anyway, the next morning, my lips felt amazing! They were so plump and nourished. The chapped skin had mostly healed and overall my lips felt super moisturized. I was so impressed. This is what I was expecting the lanolin to do. I think it's the seed oil in the ingredients, so most likely any lip oil with seed oils would work, but the Ulta brand is pretty affordable, it's a great place to start.Thought I might share an alternative for anyone else who might have had the same experience with lanolin!

[Routine Help] Cut out moisturizer as an experiment. Skin has cleared up. Any help appreciated.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have dry/sensitive skin. I've gone through so many moisturizers in the past year, trying to find one that works. My skin breaks out in tiny red bumps, mostly on my cheeks, and some on my forehead. I thought it might be fungal acne, treated it as such for a while, no luck. I've tried everything from fungal acne treatments, to switching cleansers and moisturizers. I finally found a cleanser that works, but my skin was still irritated by something. I finally had the idea to completely cut out moisturizer for a bit, just as an experiment. And just like I thought, my skin is clearing up. It's a little dry and flaky, but the red spots are going away. My skin hasn't been this clear in a long time. I still feel like it needs a moisturizer though, as it's tight and a little flaky, and I'm concerned about the long term effects of not moisturizing. I guess I'm looking for moisturizer recs. My cleanser is LaRoch Posay hydrating. I seem to have issues with fatty alcohols like many on here, but I've tried fatty alcohol-free moisturizers as well with no luck. Here are the moisturizers I've tried in the past year or year and half:* Cetaphil hydrating lotion* Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream* Clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel* Cerave in the tub* Cerave PM* Cerave ultra light with SPF* Sebamed clear face gel w/squalene dropsAny recommendations are much appreciated!

[PSA] Prescription azelaic acid (20%) for melasma is $1058 without insurance. How screwed is the US healthcare system?!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Went to a hospital dermatologist who prescribed Azelex - azelaic acid cream (20%) - to treat melasma. Paid a $50 copay, which I thought was pretty steep. Found out this product would have cost $1058 without insurance?! The Ordinary sells azelaic acid cream (10%) for $7.90. Ugh, makes me sick to my stomach.Photo of productAlso, has anyone had experience with this product?

[Personal] Husband said my skin looked beautiful!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Last night when going to bed, my husband remarked on my skin saying he thought I was still wearing foundation because it looked so clean and smooth. Guys, I almost started crying. I've been working so hard on my skin for the last two years and finally this February, I discovered this subreddit on recommendation from my husband. I had terrible hormonal acne and hyper-pigmentation from picking at it all the time and never wearing sunscreen. I spent months and hundreds of dollars trying out different foundations just so I could look like I had clear skin on my wedding day. I only have all of you to thank! I still have bad days, but we are on the upward trend and I can finally leave my house without a full cake face of makeup! Thank you r/SkincareAddiction!!

[sun care] Application of sunscreen in makeup videos
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have been watching makeup tutorials and I rarely see anyone showing the application of sunscreen in their videos, but they do show the application of moisturisers and other skin care products. When I was new to makeups I used to wonder in which step the sunscreen comes. Atleast in "Beginners" video they should mention about sunscreen

[Personal] My mother has issues with my skincare routine and is making me feel insecure
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi everyone!(Sorry if I've used the wrong tag in the post title).A few months ago, I realised that I had been covering my skin up with make-up everyday because I was insecure about blemishes/uneven skin tone. This was affecting my self-esteem, so I decided that I would quit wearing make-up altogether (except for special occasions) and work on my skincare routine, considering I didn't have one at the time.I have been able to feel secure in my bare face and I find the daily skincare routine fun and therapeutic. While my skin has always been relatively clear, I do feel like my skin looks and feels a lot better than before. But my mother has expressed some issues with my skincare routine. She told me that I'm wasting my money on products that are supposed to dry my skin out so I can keep buying them. She told me that moisturiser clogs my pores and gives me more wrinkles. She laughs at me whenever I put on a facemask and criticises me when I wear sunscreen on cloudy days.I usually try to ignore it when she makes these comments. However, about a week ago, my mother told me that my skin looks worse than it did when I was 14 (I'm currently 18). At first, I found this hard to believe because I experienced high anxiety at 14 years old and I used to get bad cystic acne (I'm taking contraceptive pills now). But after a few days, her comments have really gotten to me and I feel like my skin looks dull and splotchy with small pimples. I really can't work out if my skincare routine has ruined my skin or if it's just normal (but still better than before I started my skincare routine). Thanks for reading

[Misc] Can a Skin Barrier just not heal? I’ve been trying to restore my skin barrier for four years, and nothing works.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I’ve been trying to find a routine that will heal my skin barrier for four years, and nothing works. Over the years my once clear skin got worse, and worse. I started developing redness, closed condones, dehydration, and itchiness. No matter what I used, how long I tested it, how minimal the Ingredients were my skin would become flushed feel prickly, and sometimes become itchy. Not to mention I felt like I needed to put on moisturizer every two hours. I tried my best to power through it, but the sensation never went away. Then eventually I would have to stop my routine, and my skin would stop that sensation, but it would become extremely clogged, dry and just gross feeling. Then I would research more and test out a new product (usually a moisturizer) and the same thing would happen. Rinse and repeat that cycle of trying things and nothing working for four years. I know skincare shouldn’t cause that, but maybe I just have to live with it? I physically can not find one product that hasn’t. Or maybe it’s just my skin barrier won’t heal? Is that even possible for a skin barrier to not heal?

[Personal] After 8 years of insecurity about my skin due to severe acne and oiliness, I finally found an affordable, simple regimen that works for me :)
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello everyone! This is the very first time I’ve posted any review about skincare and products in general, so this is honestly saying something lol. Just hope I can help other people out the way the advice I’ve found online thru the years has helped me :)I started getting severe acne when I was in my tween years. It got pretty bad in high school. I’d pick at my skin and had had cystic acne and oily skin in the T-zone. I would cry so much about how bad my skin was and compare it all the time to others’.I started seeing a dermatologist and got prescribed minocycline and tretinoin. It worked wonders but I couldn’t sustain an antibiotic for an elongated period of time. So I relapsed pretty badly. I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror.I started seeing another derm and they prescribed me spironolactone because the acne was cystic and mostly hormonal (esp because I’m on birth control atm). This helped out with cysts but surface acne and oiliness really benefitted from the products I started using recently!Let me say that throughout these 8 years, I’ve probably spent $1000 or more on skincare products: dermatologist recommended drug store brands to Korean skincare and luxury brands. I tried literally everything... A lot of them were okay but nothing compared to now. I found a brand called The Ordinary at Sephora. Mostly attracted to it because of cost! It’s pretty affordable (all my products are under $10 and oddly specifically priced, as you will see below) even compared to drugstore brands. So I impulse bought a whole regimen lol.Current regimen:Ok this one isn’t The Ordinary but I found that a simple face wash works best. I use Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Face Cleanser - $4.80 from the drugstore. And then... drumroll please...Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 - $6.80Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 10% - $7.09100% Plant-Derived Squalane - $7.90Night and daytime. Daytime I have used the same sunscreen for years, Cotz Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40 which was recommended by the derm. A little on the pricier side ($24 for a tube) but honestly my OG ride or die for years. Also sometimes use the High Adherence Silicone Primer - $4.90 also from The Ordinary. It has a nice smooth feel but I don’t necessarily use it everyday/think it’s something special.I use some masks from time to time and I keep my makeup to a minimum if possible. The sunscreen is matte so it’s pretty good with controlling shine.Combining this with spironolactone and NO PICKING has really been the best regimen I’ve ever had and I couldn’t be happier with my skin :)Happy to help if you want anymore clarifications or advice! Just want to spread the good news to people with skin like mine who are going thru thru the same struggles❣️

[Misc] Any interest in spreadsheet with beauty products mentioned by celebs/influencers?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi! I've been putting together a spreadsheet where I keep track of what products certain celebs/influencers/YouTubers mention they like. Would this be helpful to anyone? I mostly keep track of ones that are around my age or have similar skin issues as me (combination/oily).

[product question] Is lactic acid better than glycolic for fading PIH?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have to pick between The Ordinary’s glycolic acid toner and lactic acid. Which is better for fading effectively my PIH? Also which concentration is better for someone that has never used chemical exfoliants? I heard that the 5% isn’t that effective but other people say that the 10% is too strong. Thanks!

[Routine help] AHA?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have a lot of milia/CC’s/texture on my forehead that I have never been able to get rid of. I use a BHA (Sunday Riley UFO) and it’s helped slightly but not much.I’m not really sure which AHA to use and what is considered the lowest strength. There are a lot of good reviews on the FAB Facial Radiance Pads but does anyone know the percentage of AHA in them?I have very sensitive, combo-dry, acne/rosacea-prone skin.

[Routine help] When I put on cream, after an hour my skin gets oily. Do I put sunscreen on my oily skin?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
For example, I wake up at 8am, wash my face and put moisturiser on. At 10am I'm about to go out so I have to put sunscreen on. My face is already so oily so do I just apply the sunscreen on my oily skin? Do I blot before putting it on?Before anyone comments: My skin is oily, not dehydrated. I use a cream my dermatologist recommended for oily skin, I've been experimenting with prescribed drugs to reduce my oil.

[Skin Concern] When so you stop using a product?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I just tried Neutrogena's Clear Face SPF 55 sunscreen. Works great, doesn't pill. Only problem is there's a slight stinging sensation as I put it on, which subsides quickly and I don't notice it for the rest of the day. Is this a chemical burn? Should I stop using it? Currently, it doesnt seem to be breaking me out, so I'm ok in that department, but I have a feeling that it might not be good for me long term. Should I keep using it or switch to a physical sunscreen or something? I'm cheap and would rather not buy another tube if I can help it.Furthermore, is there a set criteria that clearly shows what I should or shouldn't use? Thanks in advance!

Shaving My face and it's effects on my skin[Acne]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
This isn't something which is talked about a lot in skincare routines on this sub as it's mainly women here but I hope somebody will be able to answer my question.I'm a guy with fairly moderate acne and I just want to know. Does shaving my face impact upon it. There is pretty much a line on my face where my facial hair grows and i shave it and below that line my skin is bad and above it it is almost completely clear. Are there ways to minimise the effects of shaving on my skin as it defiantely seems to have an effect.Tl:dr: how do I shave my face better?

[Routine Help] Figuring out my first basic skin care routine
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm 17 years old (m), throughout puberty I've been dealing with a little bit of dirty skin, it has never been very bad, it seems like it comes and goes, sometimes being a little worse and sometimes a little better . I feel like I could probably get a lot better skin if I knew where to start, atm I'm only showering once a day and splashing my face with water a couple times a day. Here is a pic of me, not very good but its the best one I could find. https://imgur.com/a/gfSX5cHI also get dark rings under my eyes pretty quickly even with plenty of sleep, idk what can be done about that, Im also naturally rather pale. Also I feel like I'm already getting wrinkles around my forehead and my cheeks.

[Product Question] Cosrx Honey Ceramide Cream for hypersensitive skin?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi everyone,I suffer from hypersensitive, dry/dehydrated skin and a damaged skin barrier.Yesterday night I ditched my CeraVe cream. While it did help my skin at first, it just makes it feel dry, tight and kind of disgusting these days (dunno why).I'm now looking for a new cream, especially for the colder months. I heard great things about the Cosrx Honey Ceramide Cream, is it worth the hype? Did anyone here react badly to it? Does it live up to its claims? Thanks in advance!

[Skin Concern] Red and greasy patches on scalp keep increasing despite using both prescription & OTC dandruff shampoo
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Any ideas what this could be if dandruff shampoo (both medicated/prescription-- ketoconazole-- and over the counter more natural remedies) is not resolving it? It only seems to be getting worse- more red patches, more itchiness, and more wetness & flakiness. It's gross.https://imgur.com/QFwwHFwhttps://imgur.com/UiQXW4ohttps://imgur.com/Z8NhvZNhttps://imgur.com/3Ahy8qNhttps://imgur.com/9h6eg82https://imgur.com/VP2P58Dhttps://imgur.com/fbifCPVI don't know what to do anymore. I've tried going to dermatologists, changing my shampoo (I now use sulfate-free L'oreal brand), avoiding conditioner, using a scalp brush in the shower, and I'm at my wit's end. How do I fix my scalp?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Im a 19 year old male.So basically for 2 years i've been trying to get rid of consistent breakouts, scars and hyperpigmentation. Basically im still breaking out and my skin gets red and i got alot of scars.Havent improved a bit since i started this "journey". Not better, not much worse.I've tried tons of cleansers, tons of moisturizers and a couple exfoliators.Over a year ago i went to a doctor and got prescribed Tretinoin 0.0.25%. Didnt help. Dont know if i maybe need higher precentage.Anyhow, Im starting to feel like it doesnt matter how much i try improving my skin. Maybe it goes away when I get older.Current skincare routine. same for morning and evening.Cetaphil Gentle skin cleanser. Cerave Moisturizing lotion. And i exfoliate twice a week with a charcoal cleanser.

[Product Question] How much does your tretinoin cost?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've been using tretinoin for about 3 years. I've seen good results.Under my prior insurance the .05% cream (45grams) was about $20.I recently ran out of my prescription. I also just moved, started a new job, got new insurance and went to the doctor and asked for a prescription refill.According to the pharmacy, the cost to fill is over $200. Even with a coupon it will be over $100.Is my new insurance really that bad? Or is there some other way to get affordable tretinoin?

[Review] MUJI Sensitive Skin Cleansing Oil
Beauty Tips For Body Care
As the title says, this product’s full name is the MUJI Sensitive Skin Cleansing Oil. It differs from Muji’s other cleansing oils through its ingredients. The ingredients for this product are in my Imgur album linked here. What I like about the ingredients is that they are so basic. I never ever had any irritation from this product getting in my eyes or in general. So this is great for people with sensitive skin.I bought this product through YesStyle, which claims it has insane discounts like 85% off, but we all know it’s not actually that much off. Anyways, when I bought this cleansing oil, it actually was that much discounted! Normally, it retails for around $23 USD for 400 mL. But when I added it to my cart, there was a freak sale and I got it for $11 for that same size.I like that this product is economical. Since this product is 400 mL, it lasts a long time. I estimate that it lasted me 5 or 6 months using 2-3 pumps a day.The packaging is pretty plain, as you can see from the album. It has the typical pump common in Asian beauty products. A feature I like is the 100 mL markings on the back so you can kind of gauge how fast you are using it.Now for the sensory aspects!SMELL: Just like olive oil. Not scented with fragrance or anything.FEEL: Thicker than other oil cleansers I’ve used. For comparison, it’s thicker than the Kose Speedy Cleansing Oil.TASTE: No.Some products I can compare this to are the Kose Speedy Oil as mentioned above, the Shea Moisture Peace Rose Oil, and the Fourth Ray Beauty Oil. (I don’t wanna write all the comparisons out but if you want to know just ask ☺️)The positive aspects are that it does what it’s supposed to, and it does so without irritation. It’s fragrance free, which is very nice. It never broke me out, but I always used a second cleanser afterwards, which is important to note. The negative aspects are none, for me at least. One possible negative aspect for some people is that it takes a while to wash off. Because this product is olive oil based, it has the consistency of olive oil, and it takes maybe 8 splashes* of water to get it off. Which isn’t bad at all, but if you’re looking for a super fast cleanser, this may not be it.*by splashes I mean running your hands under water and then rubbing your face and then repeating. As for how well it works, I’d say it works as good as any other oil cleanser. There’s not much more to say without boring you to death, so just know it does its job.Overall, this basic olive oil based cleanser isn’t irritating, but it’s thick and takes a little while to wash off. I probably will repurchase because it’s economical and fragrance free.

[Product Question] Mario Badescu
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I can’t seem to find much on this subreddit on the negativity of Mario Badescu. Seems like it works well but most people dislike the brand. Can anyone give me some insight?I am in the process of changing up my skincare routine. I currently use Clean & Clear wash and astringent and Simple moisturizer but I think I’ve hit an age where my skin is changing again and I need to switch it up.I was looking at the Mario Badescu acne kit on Ulta. Anyone have any experience with that? I got the drying lotion a couple weeks ago and I actually really like it. It brought a cystic pimple to a head in 2 days.

[Product Question] does anyone have experience using Juice Beauty products?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm drawn to Juice Beauty for a few reasons:A) they have a wide range of products tailored to dry/dehydrated skin B) they are silicone free C) they have a great EWC ratingThese are all important things to me so it seems like a great place to go as I'm replacing old products that aren't quite working for me but I'm curious about personal experience and reviews before I buy.
