Beauty Tips For Body Care
DISCLAIMER: Everything so far is alleged. I am not a professional, me and others are just asking questions which we believe should be addressed.Tl.dr: Some companies may be cheating on UV rating tests by using soothing ingredients, to delay skin reactions.Lately there has been some buzz happening regarding these sunscreens and their efficacy. Some speculations have surfaced and if anything, it would be good if PURITO addressed this.In short, their sunscreens are very cosmetically elegant while also having very high ratings and very few filters. Their chemical sunscreen has only 2 filters, and the physical one has a very low concentration of filters. Now of course the number of filters or their concentration are NOT the only thing that matters BUT as the user dimdim1997 has been speculating, NO other European/Japanese/Australian brand has been able to achieve such high ratings with that amount of filters, numerically(organic) and concentration wise.Furthermore, a lot of people have reported burning with this sunscreen or their melasma getting worse. But of course this is just anectdotal evidence from an uncontrolled environment. Here is where things get potentially worrying:The user Cutepengwing has reached out to a scientist on Instagram Dr. Ginza (cosmetic scientist and PharmChem PhD) and asked about the situation recieving this reply. So there is not enough evidence to either prove or disprove this yet, while it STILL is theoretically possible.Another reddit user NaIlf has provided blog sources written in french which say the same thing. Soothing ingredients as well as zinc oxide (also soothing) in sunscreens are maybe being used in order to cheat on tests for UV absorption, especially the PPD rating, because they prolong the time in which the skin becomes red through pathways unrelated to blocking sun rays.
