[misc] Finally went to the derm and it didn't go how I expected... Was I expecting too much?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I went to the dermatologist for the first time the other week for a skin exam, and after I took my mask off so she could check my face, she invited me back for an acne consultation. I was planning on scheduling an appointment to discuss my face anyway, so I said "great!".I took diligent notes about my skin history, my current routine, things that haven't worked, etc. I've struggled with acne in some form or another since I was about 10, and for the first time in my life I really feel like I've found a routine that's working for me. I was excited to discuss some things I can implement to keep the improvements going. For the record, I've struggled with moderate-to-severe acne in the past, but now my acne is mild and I deal with PIH/scarring/redness.When I came in for my appointment, after intake the doctor came in and asked me no questions about my skin history or current routine. She just immediately told me what she wanted to prescribe (spiro, clindamycin, tret). I explained some of my concerns and considerations (I'm not interested in spiro right now because my mental health/moods are very sensitive to hormonal shifts. Additionally, I'll be moving across the country in the next month and I hope to be very social and in the sun before that point. I feel confident in my skin for the first time. Differin is a bit harsh for me, and I don't want to risk the tret purge while I'm trying to enjoy my last month in California). I tried to ask questions, but it felt like my concerns and knowledge of skincare was an inconvenience to her. She said I could buy one of her own retinol formulas if I was concerned about tret, then finished our appointment. At no point did she ask if I had any questions or concerns. Was I totally off-base in expecting that I might have a conversation with the doctor? Am I really looking for an aesthetician, or someone else? Should I have done something differently? I found her after a long search, and I was excited because I thought this would be the right derm for me. I understand that it's annoying for doctors when a patient comes in thinking they know everything because they Googled it, but I hoped that my understanding of the skin I've lived with for 27 years would be an asset in finding treatments.tl;dr, I went to the derm, she didn't ask me any questions before prescribing treatments, was I wrong to expect a conversation about my skin concerns?
