[Product Question] How thick is too thick for Vaseline?

I always think I haven't applied occlusive (Vaseline) as much as my moisturizer, but it gets really difficult to remove off afterward. Has it been easier to remove off if you apply in large quantity or vice-versa? Does applying vaseline in larger quantities make a difference?
