[Routine Help] How often do you apply sunscreen for daily use?

Man here. I live in SoCal and right now it’s been really sunny. I put sunscreen on every morning before work, and try to reapply every 3 ish hours even if i’m in the shade (i currently work “outside” but it’s all out of the direct sun). But I also worrry i’m just wasting sunscreen. How often do you need to reapply if you aren’t directly in the sun? Is once before work good enough? What’s your daily sunscreen routine?
