Review of Dollar Shave Club's Serum

Beauty Tips For Body Care https://www.dollarshaveclub.com/our-products/shave/repair-serumI heard of it from PC's review. So I went ahead and ordered a razor with some blades, and this serum. ( you have to get a razor to be their member in order to buy the serum). Believe it or not, it is $12 for 2 oz.! The ingredient list is good tooWater/Aqua/Eau, Hyaluronic Acid, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Ceteareth-20, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Ceteareth-12, Cetyl Palmitate, Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Sodium Polyacrylate, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Polygonatum Officinale Rhizome/Root Extract, Hordeum Vulgare Extract, Cupressus Sempervirens Seed Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.I find the serum to be decent. Applied on dry skin it can be slightly sticky the first minute it is on. But if you apply it on damp skin it feels better. Overall, the quality is very good for its price.( In fact the razor is great too. I got the 4 blades option.)

Skin care for oily skin?

Beauty Tips For Body Care I'd say overall I have oily, acne prone skin. I'm a 21 year old female and still find myself breaking out on my chin a lot. I constantly have black heads all on my nose and chin as well. I exfoliate with proactiv, then use the proactiv toner. I use certaphil moisturizer because I find the proactiv lotion too drying. My blackheads still never go away and I'm looking to stop using proactiv because it's too harsh. Anything you guys have found that you love?

Made an account just for this - help with my butt?

Beauty Tips For Body Care Hi all - found you guys while searching desperately for help with my "saddle sores." I've always had trouble with butt acne, especially after like long train rides, car rides, etc. But lately I've started going to spin class frequently, and things have gotten really bad. I'm getting these big, itchy red cysts, with the skin turning dark around them. Here's a picture - warning, it's a close up picture of part of my butt: ImgurWhat can I do about this? I usually have to go to school straight from spin class, but I change into clean clothes immediately, always wear clean cotton underwear to spin class, etc. They're really bothering me and of course I'm embarrassed about how unsightly they are.

Help me get rid of these pimples on my chest! I've tried everything.

Beauty Tips For Body Care http://imgur.com/a/onykqI'm on my mobile so sorry if my formatting goes!I've had these pimples on my chest since i was about 15. I am 18 now. I've been to the doctors but because I'm allergic to antibiotics (kinda sucks!) I can't take anything for this.Additionally I can't use most acne creams as they are too rough for my skin and I break out in a rash. Anything with microbeads I can't use either. I have to get rid of these things naturally I believe.I'm so pale these show up even more. They are mainly on my chest and especially in my cleavage, but they're also on my back, shoulders, and are now starting to go down my arms. They're really easy to pop and I can get them out whole with little pressure, but if I pop them they always bleed out and leave a nasty red ring. As you can see in the picture they have a slight red ring around some which I popped 2 hours before because they were gross and nasty. I probably shouldn't POp them but I need them gone!I've done everything I can think of. I scrub them with medicated soap but that only worked for 6 months. I love a very active lifestyle and have a immaculate diet. Please help me!(Ps. I'm in Australia so I don't have many of the brands Americans have )

I introduced Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid and my acne has never been worse. Please help!

Beauty Tips For Body Care I've had acne problems since I was 13. I'm now 23 and it's somewhat controlled, but I still had some redness and minor acne that wouldn't go away. I wanted to see what I could do to clear this up, so I tried to improve my skin care routine.I have a dry face, with an oily t-zone. I use CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser in the morning and night, and moisturize with CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion.I introduced Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid and my skin has reacted as I've never seen before. I should have done some spot-testing, but I regretfully didn't. There are now tiny, white, itchy bumps everywhere where I seem to have acne-prone skin.Photos of my skinTo me, it seems like my pores are really clogged. I'd appreciate it if someone can take a look and give me an educated answer.I've already made an appointment with my physician and hope that she can either help me clear it up or at least refer me to a dermatologist.

Skin getting "used" to products I use

Beauty Tips For Body Care So this happens with my hair as well but after using a product for a while it seems as though my body gets used to it and then doesn't really work as well. Like when you get sick and you take medicine and it works but then the illness mutates the next year and the old stuff doesn't work.Is that a normal thing? That my hair/skin gets "used" to products I use so they seem less effective. I know a lot goes into why breakouts occur and I will say that I have been extremely stressed these past couple of months and I stopped my birth control, because that also didn't really do much to my face after about a year, but it that a thing? With my hair I know that if I just rotate through some different products my hair can go back to old ones it got "used" to but this is my first time really using skincare products and keeping up a routine.

Quick question about tretonin

Beauty Tips For Body Care I was wondering how much tretinoin would be too much? I was told by my derm to put it on once nightly. But, my skin loves it. It's done wonders already in the two weeks I've had it. I work graveyards, which means I'm literally never up when the sun is out. So can I put it on once before work and once before bed? Would that be took much? Or would I just be getting diminishing returns? I don't get any redness, dryness, or peeling at all from it.

Home made Butter & Oil Lotion!

Beauty Tips For Body Care I have fairly dry skin and never could find a good lotion to help, well I figured I'd just make it myself one day so I went out and bought Shea butter: http://www.amazon.com/100%25-Unrefined-Organic-Shea-Butter/dp/B00D9NV2D4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1433077506&sr=8-2&keywords=shea+butterCocoa Butter: http://www.amazon.com/Certified-Unrefined-Incredible-Organically-Dominican/dp/B00CIZ0DNO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1433088605&sr=8-1&keywords=cocoa+butterJojoba Oil: http://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-Organic-Jojoba-ounce/dp/B0019LTGOU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1433077841&sr=8-2&keywords=Jojoba+OilAlso used Neem, Coconut, Olive and almond oil.Recipe:In a double boiler melt the shea and Cocoa together.Take some amount I'd like to use right away for lotion and mix in the Oils, you can measure it exactly but I personally just put in however much I want. Coconut oil/Olive oil are the bulk but the others are there in good amounts as well.I'd say the eventual mixture is 60-70% butter and the rest is the oil. Mix them together and let them harden (Takes about a day in room temperature). At this stage also use any essential oils you like, personally I'm a fan of a little bit of clove + Jasmine.Note that this lotion is strong, as in since it's all oil and fat a tiny bit is more than enough to cover a lot of skin so I usually put a decent amount of essential oil. Really strong to smell the lotion but when applied is a very light scent. For the unused Butter that I decided not to immediatly make lotion with, I just store it in a sealed container. Keep it in the fridge or in just some dark cool place. Whenever I'm running low on lotion I just break off some of the butter and toss it in the microwave for ~20-30 seconds to melt it down. Then mix in the oils and repeat the process.Result: $50ish initial cost but have lotion material that has lasted two people a year. Plus it has all these benefits:All pure and unrefined ingredients (Well as unrefined as an oil or butter can be), you can control exactly what goes into it. If you don't like olive oil then don't put any, if you love something then put it in.The lotion can be eaten, you may not digest some parts of it but unlike a lot of other lotions I'm not afraid of it getting near my mouth. If you're afraid of tasting the lotion why put it on your skin to be absorbed?Mild Sunblock + Insect repelling properties, this is a contribution of what you put into it but the butters + Jojoba have sunblocking properties while the essential oils you choose can repel insects. You can't really get much more moisturizing than lotion that is not only full of fats that absorbs easily but also seems to control bacteria on my face so helps with acne, once against just a little bit.I personally enjoy it and wouldn't really go back to using normal lotions:http://i.imgur.com/6GCL2MK.jpgJust a little picture of the final result

Please help: red patches and pores on upper cheeks (pics inside)

Beauty Tips For Body Care This is starting to lower my self esteem. I've had acne for a long time (I'm 17), but what bothers me most about my face is that I have pores and red spots/scars on my upper cheeks. I used to have a cream that helps but can't find it anymore. Pimples are really not that big of a deal: I just want to clear my face of those stupid pores and most importantly of the stupid fucking redness. Here are the pores - note that those are on my upper left cheek, NOT my nose. Here's the redness I am talking about, again, almost entirely upper cheeks. It is driving me crazy. It looks worse in real life, they just don't really stick out too much on pictures, but I can't help but think about people noticing it about me (was already told my face is red a few times). The cream that did help had aloe and a few other things in it and it helped pretty well, I might try go and find it again or just go for an aloe gel or something. Is aloe really helpful for that sorta stuff? Thanks ahead. Any help would be so much obliged.

This has been a game changer for me: no more cotton balls/pads, it's all about the esthetic wipes!

Beauty Tips For Body Care This may be common knowledge; I've had them used on me at spas before but I never thought of buying them to use at home on myself. I got some online and after using them for about a month, I'm super pleased! No fuzz and lint- and I mean none. (I have have bought pricey make up cotton pads that say they are lint free, yet they still can produce some fuzz).Money saver- I use far less toner and astringent now, so I'm actually saving money despite them being slightly more expensive. They are thin so you only need a dab to soak it, they hold liquid very well. Mine are like large cloths so I only need one for both my face and my neck/colllarbone area. I also only use one per leg if I have just shaved. BTW I bought my witch hazel last month and I still got a ton left, which is a wonderful change. I sometimes would go through one bottle a month because I would have to pour so much directly into the cotton.A gentle exfoilant - I have sensitive skin (red blotches are no fun) but with these my skin texture has improved without causing any irritation. They feel good on the skin.Deeper clean Right away I could tell how much cleaner my skin was just after the first use. It grabbed everything my old cotton pads were leaving behind. And did I mention I'm saving money? If you use expensive liquids like I do, it may become one of your basic essentials.I feel like a cheezey salesman. I'm just super excited and I wanted to share the love. Something that seems so simple and minor has made all of my skin products work better while I'm spending less.

Pimples!

Beauty Tips For Body Care Hello SCA!I'm a male who is under this routine:AM:Splash face with cold water.Put some Ambi Fade Cream (2% Hydroquinone) for some spot correction.Finish with Elta MD UV Clear 46 SPF.PM:Wash face with Cerave Foaming CleanserPaula's Choice 8% AHA.Ambi Fade Cream for the spot correction.I also use Cerave in the Tub (with the pump) moisturizer on my whole face and neck area. The thing is that I always, always have a pimple, just one. Like, I have one right now, I try to ignore it (don't pick at it) and it usually go by itself in a couple of days but right after it starts to dry and dissapear, i can feel another one growing, like they are replacing themselves ( -_-") is is frustrating. They all appear in the same spot. Before, they were appearing on one of my cheeks now the moved from there and are appearing on my forehead.I'm clueless about what is happening, these pimples are making my journey to clear my face a bit harder.

My failed attempt to cure my skin. No results after 6 months. I would like to ask for advices.

Beauty Tips For Body Care First of all I'd like to kindly welcome you, because it's my first post here. I've been browsing this subreddit for quite a while.I'm struggling with acne for a couple of years, actively for 6 months. I'm 18 year old male. My biggest problem is redness on my cheeks. It just doesn't heal itself. I have acne all over my chest, arms, back, cheeks, and while it stays there forever, my forehead is completely different, i have some minor acnes from time to time, but they're not that big, and they completely dissapear. I tried many different things such as diet (no dairy, no gluten, low glycemic index - for 25 days), taking Vitamin A/E/Zinc (1,5 to 4x bigger dose, for 2 months), physical exfoliation with corundum and raspberry seed oil or perilla oil (1 month), applying Sudocrem everynight (1 month), washing face with Bioderma puryfing cleansing foaming gel/Garnier Pure 3 in 1 (couple of months), and many different spot treatmens - Benzacne 10%, Vitamin A, Davercin, Epiduo, Tribiotic, Neo-Tormentil.None of them made noticeable difference for my skin. I have some stubborn points on my skin, even If i put Benzacne/Vitamin A every single day for a week, the acne will appear later anyway. I know that this subreddit revolves around USA, and some products are not available in Europe, where i live, but i can find similiar ones. Since 3th of April i do OCM with baby oil once a day, and for last 2 weeks twice a day. I notice very tiny objects, you call them grits, but i get only 1 to 3, or none in the morning. It's almost 2 months, and i still don't see improvement. Maybe i should try castor oil mixed with olive oil, and use microfiber, because now i use gentle material, but it does not properly get rid off oil i have to use piece of paper, and push it gently to my skin, so it can absorb rest of oil. From my observation i can say, that surface layer of skin is not smooth, you can notice it on picture, where i gained air on the cheek, so it's easier to see.http://imgur.com/a/enlZHI'm not sure about type of my skin, in the morning i can't wash it with splash of water, because it's oily, i need some remover, and same for the evening. When i was using Sudocrem i had itchy skin. Now with OCM i don't feel that anymore.I found here, that it is better to use chemical over physical exfoliation, also you need to focus on gentle cleansing, exfoliation, moisturizing, and the most important - sunscreen. Avoiding sun exposure is heavily promoted here. Finally my question is, what should i do now? The summer is about to start, i'm little bit afraid of those sunscreens. It also takes some time, to find one that doesn't leave white or oily cast, and has no influence on frequency of showing pimples. The sun will hide behind clouds in September/October. Should i wait for fall, to start chemical exfoliation, and just skip sunscreen since it's not that big problem, because it's mostly cloudly in that time, (i'm outside for more than 1 hour a day, with a few breaks, so it's not continuous sun exposure). I understand that skin may be very sensitive, and you are obliged to take care even more. Does sun behind clouds still irritate skin, so i'll have to use sunscreen anyway? Even without AHA/BHA, sun can cause problems, so i'm a little bit lost.I will be very grateful for your hints. You taught me new things, i made some bad choices before, for example PE or lemon with honey, but hey, you learn from one's own mistakes! :D It's all about human's psyche, your comments are very motivating, probably it must be amazing to hear compliment from stranger, about your skin, after you apply to advices written here, and it actually makes your skin better. I hope you will help me to properly prepare for a new battle with my skin! Sorry for any mistakes if they appeared :)

caution about spironolactone 100 mg

Beauty Tips For Body Care Once I turned 30 I started to develop acne around my jawline, and the occasional bought of chest or bacne that was really embarrassing. My derm prescribed 50mg of spironolactone, which didn't seem to do anything, so after three months she upped the dose to 100 mg. I was a little nervous about the potential for this to affect my mood (or make PMS even worse) and it seemed to actually help with these issues. After two months on 100 mg I noticed very positive effects, and after three my skin was looking quite good. I also noticed that my energy levels dropped dramatically. I normally lift weights 4 times a week, and that dropped down to zero. I got dizzy very easily, felt sick a lot of the time, and a really high-energy physical routine became doing very little. My anxiety levels went through the roof, and pms became the stuff of legend. Still, it seemed reasonable that these might be part of an adjustment period, or maybe a perimenopause symptom. This month (my third on the 100 mg dose, sixth month taking it over all) things suddenly got way, way worse. I feel terrible all the time, my concentration is shot, and I've had my period twice this month. I made a doctor's appointment, and talked to my very skilled pharmacist about the medications and vitamins i take to try and get some insight from her about what I might need to stop (or taper off) to get some relief from the symptoms. She immediately said spironolactone.I felt the need to share this story here because, like many people on this subreddit, I've sung the praises of spironolactone as a skin saver. I feel like I needed to add the addendum that it's not without dangers. I don't know 100% for sure (yet) that this is the source of my symptoms, but I had a complete physical before I started taking it and everything was fine. Thanks for reading!

Experience with Propaira for Rosacea?

Beauty Tips For Body Care After self managing my skin for years with oscillating skin, I decided to bite the bullet, embrace poverty, and seek advice from a dermatologist. As to be expected, he diagnosed me with Rosacea and prescribed me doxycycline and Rozex. A few years ago, I went to a GP when I had a Rosacea outbreak - which seem to be stress induced - and I tried out Finacea. This removed the Rosacea bumps, but, if anything, dried out my skin and mutated my cheeks into the cherries from Super Mario Bros 2. I haven't tried Rozex as of yet due to these fears.I have been using Cetaphil's Moisturizing Lotion and Gentle Skin Cleanser and have found it to have had mild success since my stress induced Acne and Rosacea break out in February. The dermatologist recommended Propaira's Acne Prone Skin Foaming Cleansing Gel and Proparia's Acne Prone Skin Purifying Cream.I've been researching the ingredients. One of these is Cocamidopropyl Betaine in the Foaming Cleansing Gel. Based on some brief research, this is undisputedly notorious for causing breakouts and worsening existing skin conditions. Has anyone else heard of this brand? Or is it an Australian brand? The ingredients are here. Are there any other ingredients that stand out?

Contemplating laser surgery for acne and comedone scars on my face..

Beauty Tips For Body Care I have had grade 4 agne vulgaris for about 8 years now.. And macro comedones.. Things are getting a little better after using Epiduo Gel & Salicylic acid face wash. My dermatologist is now suggesting CO2 fractional laser treatment for my scars. I'm an Indian with wheatish complexion so I am worried about hyper pigmentation which can be a complication of the treatment. Has anyone here undergone similar treatment? Did it work ?
