Beauty Tips For Body Care
https://imgur.com/a/uo8qlBlHey everyone!I thought I’d share my “shelfie” on here, even though I’m not a skincare expert by any means, I just enjoy learning about products and ingredients and I’ve discovered some great products that work really well for me!I’ll be including a review of each product - all but one I’ve been using for a long while, so I have opinions on them - but some products I still have some questions about and I’d love your feedback (you’re all so knowledgeable and helpful on here!).FIRST THINGS FIRST:Skin Type: Normal/DrySkincare Concerns: Anti-Aging, Brightening & HydrationSkincare Routine Goals: Experiment with products to find ones that are the right fit for my skin type and skincare concerns whilst keeping a paired down set of “holy-grail” products that I love.DAILY ROUTINE: Morning: - Splash face with water - Apply La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Non-Perfumed FluidEvening: - Splash face with water - Apply Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Purifying Toner or AlphaH Liquid Gold Toner - Apply CeraVe Facial Moisturising LotionWEEKLY ROUTINE: - I cleanse my skin in the shower daily or every second day with either the Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Treatment Boosting Cleanser or the La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Derma-Soothing Hydrating Cleansing CreamI use the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Unclogging, Purifying Sebo-Controlling Mask Anti-Shine about once per weekI apply the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant on my hands before I sleep, every nightI apply the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil or the Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion to my body after getting out of the showerI apply the Caudalie Beauty Elixir as needed throughout the dayPRODUCTS & REVIEW: From top to bottom, right to left.Nuxe Multi-Purpose Dry Oil (Would Not Repurchase): This is the ONLY product that I haven’t been using for a super long time and kind of have no opinion on. I’m not sure that it does much, I was hoping that it would add more of a glow to my skin but I don’t think that it does, and in terms of moisturizing, I don’t think it’s that amazing.Peter Thomas Roth Face Masks (Would Repurchase): These masks do exactly what they say on the tin, the Irish Moor Mud mask is purifying, the Cucumber mask is hydrating and the 24k Gold Mask is lifting and firming. Highly recommend! The Ordinary “Buffet” (Would Not Repurchase): I like the feeling of this serum, I enjoy applying it and would recommend it to others, however, I will not be purchasing Deciem products in the future in light of recent events. The only thing I don’t like about this serum is that it pills when I put my moisturizers on top of it, so I tend not to use it on a daily basis. It doesn’t pill if I wait several minutes for it to completely dry down, so that’s what I do when I do apply the product. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (Would Not Repurchase): Again, I love the feeling of this serum - it literally feels like a drink of water for my skin - but will not be repurchasing because it’s a Deciem product. I have the same problem with pilling, so again, I tend not to use it on a daily basis. When I have time, though, I like to splash my face with water and then apply this straight to my face without drying the water off; I feel like it makes my skin feel extra hydrated! For my next Hyaluronic Acid purchase I’m eyeing up the La Roche-Posay version.Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant (Would Repurchase): I love this hand cream, it’s so hydrating and fixes my dry cuticles which prevents me from having hangnails and keeps my nail polish in better condition for longer. It takes a while to completely sink in, that’s why I use it before bed.Glossier Coconut Balm Dotcom (Would Repurchase): I didn’t think there was anything special about this product, but for some reason I can’t stop using it! I wouldn’t say it’s an absolute necessity, most other lip balms work just as well for me, however there’s something about it that just makes me keep coming back to it. I like the texture and looooooove the coconut scent. Would recommend others to try if interested!CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion (Would Repurchase): I really like this moisturizer. I wanted a moisturizer that I could use in the middle of the day that still had some SPF in it, because sometimes I take showers in the afternoon and still want to re-apply some SPF after, and I found I was getting through my La Roche Posay Anthelios super quickly if I would apply it in the morning and after an afternoon shower. This was the perfect solution! The only thing that I didn’t love at first is that the product smells very strongly of sunscreen, which I wasn’t expecting because the LRP Anthelios has no sunscreen smell, but now I don’t even notice it and it doesn’t bother me. I love the packaging as well, it’s really clean to use.The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA (Would Not Repurchase): I love this moisturizer so much; it applies so smoothly, it doesn’t have a scent, it feels so nice on the skin, it sinks in quickly and my skin loves it. I won’t be repurchasing it because it’s a Deciem product, however, I’d still recommend this product to anyone interested in trying it.La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Non-Perfumed Liquid (Would Repurchase): This is my holy grail moisturizer. I purchased it initially to be my daily SPF and I’ve worn it every day since then. It’s comfortable on the skin, doesn’t smell like sunscreen, a little bit goes a long way and it feels like it lasts on the skin throughout the day. I make sure I never run out of this product!Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Biotin Dry Shampoo (Would Repurchase): I recognize that this is not a skincare product per say, however, many dry shampoos make my scalp feel itchy and this one does not. I like that product is not dispensed via an aerosol canister, it smells great, it works super well, it sinks in fast and has helped me minimize my hair washing days. Ultimately though, it doesn’t irritate my scalp so I’ll happily keep using it!AlphaH Liquid Gold With Glycolic Acid (Would Not Repurchase): I’m disappointed by this product! I heard so many glowing reviews of it (pun intended!) and it hasn’t really done that much for my skin. I heard that it was supposed to be very brightening, but it hasn’t made much difference to my skin. I’ll use up the product but I probably won’t be inclined to repurchase.La Roche-Posay Effaclar Derma-Soothing Hydrating Cleansing Cream (Would Repurchase): I’ve really enjoyed using this cleanser, it’s nothing fancy but it does the job and it does it well. I will say, though, that I don’t find it to be particularly hydrating at all, if anything, it can dry out my skin a little bit if I use it too often. If I use it every second day or so it’s fine, though, and I feel that it leaves my skin feeling very clean and clarified.Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream All-Over Miracle Oil (Would Repurchase): LOVE this body oil. I spray it all over my body after showering and it feels and smells amazing. It sinks in relatively quickly and leaves my skin feeling hydrated for days. I just love this product so much. I just wish it came in a bigger bottle because I go through it quickly!Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Purifying Toner (Would Repurchase): I got this on a whim and I wasn’t sure how it’d be, but I LOVE it. It makes my skin feel amazing, it’s gentle but I feel that it’s working. I used to have minor occurrences of closed comedones on my forehead and under my eyes and I feel like this has nipped them in the bud. It’s a big bottle so it lasts a while, a little goes a long way, it’s gentle enough to use every day and I’ll be running back to get another bottle when this one runs out!La Roche-Posay Effaclar Unclogging, Purifying, Sebo-Controlling Mask Anti-Shine (Would Repurchase): This product does everything it says on the tin. It makes my skin very clear and purified, and definitely feels like it controls the oil I have around my nose. I use this about once a week and I feel that it really improves my complexion and even helps neutralize any redness that I have. Love, love, love. Also, it’s a huge bottle, it’s going to last me forever considering that I use it once per week and a little goes a long way. Yay!Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion (Would Repurchase): I purchased this to combat the keratosis pilaris (chicken skin) on the tops of my arms and my thighs, and I feel like it’s been working! My KP isn’t completely gone yet but it’s started to fade on my thighs and it’s definitely much less dry on my arms. This is a super-intense moisturizing lotion, I can still feel its effects even days after using it! I’m hoping with more continued use it’ll continue to improve the KP on my arms.Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Treatment Boosting Cleanser (Would Repurchase): This cleanser is amazing for my skin! It feels very clarifying but gentle, and even lightly exfoliating. I look forward to using it so much so that I don’t even reach for my LRP cleanser anymore.La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Anti-imperfections and Effaclar K Oily Skin Renovating Care (Would Not Repurchase): I grouped these two together because I have pretty much the same opinion on both. They’re nice… but I don’t feel like they do much for my skin. I’m not sure that I’m using them properly though, I thought they were a serum but are they actually more of a moisturizer? Any application advice is welcome!Caudalie Beauty Elixir (Would Not Repurchase): This facial spray is nice enough, but to me it’s kinda meh. I don’t love the scent of it, it’s minty which I wasn’t expecting, and although it’s hydrating and nice to apply throughout the day I don’t find that it’s becoming a holy grail product for me at all. I’ll use it up, but I’ll be interested to try other facial sprays!PRODUCTS I LOVE BUT NOT SHOWN: Herbivore Blue Tansy Mask (Would Repurchase): I tried a sample of this mask in a Sephora Favorites kit and I loved it! It was very calming for my skin and my skin just seemed to love it! Would recommend. Thanks for reading, and thanks for being such an informative and helpful sub!
