[Skin Concerns] Looking for a non-greasy/no white-cast sunscreen.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I tried Supergoop but it caused Closed Comedones on my cheeks (which fortunately went away after stopping use) and Black Girl Sunscreen which was way too oily for me. I currently use the Hawaiian Tropics Sunscreen Spray and its working well, but I have a worry that it's not getting all of my face. Any suggestions? preferably those with SPF 50? I'm willing to try 30 though.

[Personal] I don’t think I know what healthy, clear skin even looks like anymore
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I just feel like that so many of the photos online of clear skin are actually very edited, so now I think that I genuinely can’t tell what healthy skin looks like any moreš Because of this, I always feel like I need to add more to my routine. I have clear skin luckily and my skin is pretty good even though my routine is very basic (cleanser, exfoliator, essence, moisturizer, sunscreen) but I always feel like it’s not enough

[Acne] Quitting coffee cleared my skin but I'm sad. Because coffee.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've finally identified coffee as a trigger for acne after months of trial and error re: diet changes. From all the dietary changes I've made in the past (plant-based diet, no wheat, no dairy, no sugar except fruits) COFFEE is the only thing that has had an impact on my skin.I quit coffee for a month mostly because it was making me jittery and SUPER sweaty (like dripping sweat after two sips of coffee). I didn't drink it with sugar, only a spoonful of coconut oil for bullet coffee. But after a month of only tea... my skin looked radiant. Not a single closed comedone. No inflammation whatsoever. Brighter complexion. While this would normally be exciting news, quitting coffee is the hardest substance I've ever quit (harder than cigarettes, alcohol, and previously mentioned dietary changes) and I just love it so much. So even though my skin is clear... I feel like I can't even live my life properly and enjoy simple pleasures. I know I'm being dramatic. But still.I told myself I would only have coffee on the weekends, which seemed to not aggravate my skin that much. Then I got a bit cocky and drank coffee for half of the week and the rough texture, comedones, inflammation, excessive oiliness AND dry patches came back with a vengeance.... It's clear-- coffee is the culprit.Has anyone else experienced this and have any hope for a coffee addict? I started taking vitamin D and B complex supplements which actually really helped with my energy levels and dry skin (my chronically chapped and peeling lips were significantly less dry). Hoping to see a light (and a hot cup of coffee) at the end of the tunnel.About my skin: Extremely sensitive, thin, oily skin prone to PIH. Hormonal+genetic acne on face in addition to lots of comedones/clogged pores that turn into inflammatory acne ALL over my body (back, shoulders, chest, upper and lower arms, thighs).TL;DR Quitting coffee cleared my skin but I'm a sad whiny baby who misses hot tasty bean juice.

[Personal] I’m a teenager (16) and I think i’ve gotten way too obsessed with skincare, and it’s causing major stress in my life
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I don’t know why I can’t get over it. I think my obsession is ruining my skin more than helping it.When I first started skincare, I was only like 12 or 13 and I started it because i saw youtubers doing it. I introduced a lot of products all at one (cleanser, toner, mositurizer, sunscreen, etc) and ever since then my skin has never been the same. I swear my skin was great before i even started skin care.My main problem has been red bumps on my cheeks i think i’ve always had theseI don’t even get acne often, it’s just that this has been my main insecurity because it makes my cheeks red, and it’s often irritating, especially after i rub my cheeks when putting on products. But I think i managed to help it with this routine:1) Vanicream gentle cleanser 2) TO Alpha Arbutin + Ascorbic acid to lighten scars 3) Mandelic Acid 2x a week 4) First aid beauty ultra repair cream 5) Missha sunscreen whenever i went outMy skin seemed to improve a lot. The redness was mainly gone, the bumps as well. My skin was smoother than normal I was happier. I rarely got break outs and most important of all: I was not as obsessed with my skin. I could go the whole day without analyzing it.I don’t know what changed, but last week i suddenly became hyper focused on my skin. I dropped the acids because i got paranoid that they were damaging my skin. I started using an eye cream which i think has made me break out slightly around my eye area, and I started using a Propolis toner which i also think has made me break out and has also irritated the bumps on my cheeks. My skin has been at its worst this week, and I can’t stop focusing on it. Constantly, I look for a mirror and analyze my skin up close: Pointing out every flawI feel like i can’t focus. My insecurities and obsessions have been amplified tenfold and i can’t even focus on my favorite tv shows without looking up more stuff about skincare, i don’t know what’s wrong with me.Now I have break outs around my chin, my cheeks are irritated and inflamed, and i still can’t stop hyper analyzing my skin. Ive been told i have good skin but everything just seems wrong to me. For example, the nasolabial folds that i’ve been told everyone has always looks terrible on me and im terrified of looking old.I’ve gotten so vain this year im sorry if that makes me sound terrible. I can’t stop looking at myself in the mirror and i can’t decide what to feel. One week I’ll be incredibly confident in myself, even constantly taking pictures because i feel so beautiful. The next week i’ll feel terrible and hate everything about my appearance, including my skinI’ve deleted instagram and tiktok since these are two social media platforms that have done nothing but make me incredibly insecure of my skin. The worst part is, I am still obsessed with skin care and I can’t decide what to do. I just can’t stop nothing the blemishes. I feel like everything burns which is weird since my skin isn’t even that irritated or has that many breakouts. I think it’s just my mind convincing me of that. Even now, I’m looking back at the photos I took, and the redness and bumps don’t seem as bad as I thought they did? For some reason i thought they looked absolutely terribleI guess I should probably drop all new products and go back to my old routine with just a cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and Mandelic acid 1x or 2x a week (I’ll start with the mandelic acid first, and then i might go back to using ascorbic as well)I also bought a cosrx snail mucin essence since i heard it was really good, but i don’t think i’ll use it until my skin clears up and calms down entirely and i have patch tested thoroughly.I just wanted to vent because this has been causing a lot of stress in my life. Which is dumb since im just a teenager and i shouldn’t be so worried about my skin. I really just need to stop being so obsessed over my skin. It’s gotten to a point where I am constantly analyzing myself in the mirror like every hour.I just wish i could see a dermatologist but the problem is the price.i guess i just have a lot of insecurities, that all seem to come out when it comes to skincare

[Routine Help] - Retinol next steps after differin
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi all!I started using differin about a year ago, and have responded really well to it. It helped with my acne, skin texture, and especially hormonal cysts on my jawline. I use it almost every night now. However, I’m still having issues with closed comedones and some general texture and color unevenness. I am wondering what the ‘next step’ is after differin when it comes to retinols? Would it just be getting a prescription for tret? Are there other OTC retinols that are stronger than differin?Other info: I have normal to dry skin, low sensitivity.AM routine: Cerave hydrating cleaner, Vichy vitamin C (don’t love this), cerave daily moisturizer, Biore UV SPF.PM routine: if wearing makeup, KOSE oil cleanser. Then Cerave hydrating cleanser OR St. Ives Tea Tree SA cleanser. Differin almost every night, once or twice a week I’ve been trying to use an acid instead (have tried Pixie glow tonic and Pixie clarity SA tonic, haven’t loved either), then Cerave daily moisturizer, sometimes slug with Vaseline if I’m really dry.I’ve recently read that Cerave can cause closed comedones so am considering swapping those out too.

[Research] Micro needling increases collagen but decreases elastin?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I read a paper from 2015 about how micro needling can be used to treat atrophic acne scars.I found these two quotes interesting:There was a statistically significant increase (p<0.05) in the mean of collagen types I, III, and VII and newly synthesized collagen, while total elastin was significantly decreased (p<0.05) after the end of treatment.Assessment of ECM proteins showed statistically significant (p<0.05) enhancement of collagen and elastin deposition and formation in response to skin microneedling therapy. There was slight, but statistically nonsignificant (p>0.05) increase in collagen (types I, III, VII and newly synthesized) and tropoelastin, which was accompanied by a decrease in total elastin level after one month of treatment. These changes continued to show statistically significant (p<0.05) enhancement three months after starting treatment. My rudimentary understanding is that elastin is generally considered a good thing, which would suggest that a decrease in total elastin is a bad thing. It’s also interesting that it says there was an enhancement of elastin deposition and formation. It would be interesting to hear a derm interpretation of this.

[Anti Aging] Advice for a 25 year old
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I turn 25 this September and I want to prevent signs of aging. I have used tretinoin for 2 years but took a break from it these past 6 months. That being said, I probably have to get my skin acclimated to it again which I have no problem because I was successful the first time around. That being said, I am aware of the side effects since I did deal with them in the past. This time around though, I’ve been considering applying an eye cream with retinol since tretinoin (i used 0.05%) is way too strong and irritating around the eyes So my question is, do you guys recommend using an eye cream with retinol for around the eyes while using tretinoin on the rest of your face? Also, I’ve been dancing around the idea of getting Botox as a preventative. Does anybody have any thoughts or experiences they’d like to share? What other routines or procedures have you guys done/recommend for anti aging?

How to treat old sun damage on chest? [Miscellaneous]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
When I was little (like younger than 11 I think) I had a really bad sun burn and got sick. It left a huge brown spot on my chest and it looks like a birth mark. It may have been there and I was too young to realize it- and the tan/sun damage made it worse. I'm 20 and it's still there, but it got bigger and spread up my chest a tiny bit, and tanning makes it insanely bad looking. It's right between my breast and above them so it looks like dirt has settled there...gross af. I tried exfoliating and scrubbing the dead skin pretty harshly every day but it did nothing. What can I do? As I said, it's really dark and looks like I got dirt between my breast. If it was anywhere else I wouldn't care so much.

[Acne] Went to a derm for the first time in 7 years.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
After about 7 years of using curology, I decided to go to a dermatologist. My skin was doing really well but I figured since I have insurance why not get the best care. I didn’t have a good experience at my last derm but this one was great.I’m a little sad to end curology because it helped a lot and it’s almost scary straying from what I’ve been using for years. I also realized afterwords that I probably have to discontinue a bunch of products (toner, cleansers, spot treatments) that I have spent money and time on trying to formulate a good skincare routine for myself. I will probably try to incorporate it to my back and chest routine. My doctor prescribed 5% benzoyl peroxide wash (twice a day), 1% clindamycin swabs (twice a day), and 0.1% differin at night. I didn’t think of this while I was at the appointment but I’m worried about my skin drying out. Does anyone have experience with these products and maybe tips for using them? I was on clindamycin for curology but this is a different form.Thank you

My 20yr old son, has had bad acne and itchy scalp for the past 6 years. We trust our doctor and specialists, and have tried many possible medications and solutions. He eats a normal healthy diet and knows what his major triggers are. He's on couple medications, and does things like changing pillowcases, changing soaps along with all kinds of other remedies. For the most part it all helps greatly, but his baseline, at best, is to alway have a few patches of acne no matter what. For unrelated reasons, he has adopted a ketogenic diet. After a couple weeks, we all noticed his face clearing up. The keto diet is tricky to maintain at first, so he was in and out a few times over the last year, and noticed his acne followed the pattern. Now hes solidly in keto, not using medicinals, and his acne is 95% gone.I don't know why this is working, but it is.As a parent, it breaks my heart to see my kid suffer this damn acne during teenage years. We are thrilled to see the changes in his confidence and esteem. Surely it's not the solution for everyone, but it would be heartwarming to know that this information might help someone else.

[Product Question] 0.1% Differin .. questions about the purging process
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello! Today my derm prescribed me 0.1% adapalene gel to treat mild acne. I have acne mostly around my chin, some on my cheeks, and texture issues on my forehead. I’ve read a lot about the differin purge and it makes me nervous! I also have very sensitive skin so I’m worried I’ll have trouble differentiating between the purge vs a bad reaction. What are some guidelines to know that you’re purging and not having a bad reaction? Also, if you use differin, did you have a purge/what was it like? Does purging generally make your skin significantly worse or just slightly worse?Any advice on this is welcome! Planning on using it for the first time tonight!

[skin concerns] painful pimple on chin and forehead acne for weeks
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Here's the rundown, I have had forehead acne foreverrr. It went away about a year ago but that's because I had a weird thing with food and I only ate salads šš. Also I started using the Cerave acne foaming cleanser. Now I use both the acne cleanser and their foaming facial cleanser. (for moisturizer i use this olay stuff)I'm not too concerned about my forehead because i'm used to it. recently these two very painful pimple things appeared on my chin. They are medium sized for pimples and they have visible pus that is white. So to the skincare addicts, what would you do? I can send a picture of said pimple if you dm me!

[Misc] Ingrown hairs everywhere on the body
Beauty Tips For Body Care
My hairs grow in everywhere on the body where I remove it. I initially sugar waxed, tried shaving, didn’t help, tried waxing - went even worse. Now I sugar wax everywhere. But they keep growing in.I get those tiny nodules and I just can’t help but pick at it. Summer it is and I am so ashamed of my legs. I am pale with dark hair and on lower legs they are really thick - I just can’t get why they won’t come out. I can’t shave that area because they would grow back in less than a day so I continue sugaring. My idea was to use glycolic acid but I am worried I will get hyperpigmentation since it’s sunny. What should I do? I want to have normal looking legs.Btw I cannot afford laser hair removal since it’s so expensive.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've been meaning to buy a Vitamin C serum but I can't seem to chose one, there are so many of them!I have combination skin (dry on the forehead and oily around the nose and cheeks). The ones I've checked out are:• Vitamin C Day Serum - Drunk Elephant• Isdinceutics Flavo-C Serum - ISDIN• Vitamin C Serum - La Roche-PosayI also struggle with acne spots, mild acne and blackheads so I was thinking on buying a Retinol serum (I haven't done any research on this).Any suggestions? Thanks!Edit: Unfortunately, The Ordinary products in the country I live in are extremely limited, so I'd appreciate it if you could recommend me any other brands :)

[Product Question] What to do when a newly purchased Vitamin C serum turns yellow within 20 days of opening?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
What to do when a newly purchased Vitamin C serum turns yellow within 20 days of opening? What's the way to go about in a situation like this?Should I stop using the serum as I no longer know if it's effective or even safe for use anymore? Possibly, throw it away.ORAsk the brand for a replacement or a refund?. . .A little background : I purchased a new Vitamin C serum last month. Upon opening, the colour was fine as it should be. I started to use it on a daily basis but noticed it was slowly turning into a yellowish hue. Now, after 20 days of opening and using it, it has definitely turned visibly yellow.I was expecting the serum to be more stable as the form of Vitamin C used is Ethyl Ascorbic Acid along with Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid.I have already reached out to the brand regarding this issue and I'm waiting for their response. Until then, I'm not sure if I should go public in this sub with the brand's name and pictures of my serum.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
ITS A 911!!.so i’ve used fermented rice water on my face before and it worked wonders but this time around i think i left the rice water to ferment for too long (1month) and put like ten drops of tea tree oil to my teeny spray bottle so it helps my acne; ig the concoction became too strong and it was burning right after i sprayed it onto my face. but i left it nevertheless thinking the tea tree oil was supposed to feel that way. Then i went on with my usual routine and put epiduo (0.1% adapalene+2.5% benzoyl peroxide) gel. . THEN the next morning i woke up w EXTREMELYY FLAKYY SKIN, like i wanna cry when i touch, that’s how rough the texture has become, and my lips feel so dry it feels like i haven’t put lipbalm since birth. i have no idea what to dooo, my skin is cracking and i’ve been putting heavy layers of moisturiser and trying bio oil too. (my usual skin type is very oilyyy) (i get breakouts too) and its disturbing me how i’m not waking up with my face feeling like a frying pan. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

[miscellaneous] Is purging worth it? - Pixi Peel & Polish
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello!I've very recently introduced Pixi Peel & Polish into my routine, to replace a face scrub I used a few times a week prior. I don't remember what one it was offhand, scrubs are all much the same in my book and I'll usually just buy whatever's on clearance in TK MAXX. I know physical exfoliants aren't very popular in these parts but they've served my skin very well for the past 15 years and I have no plans to abandon them.I was intrigued by the idea of a combo exfoliant and decided to give this one a go. It has lactic acid and some kinda fruit enzyme in it, but no percentile value so I assumed it was pretty weak, which is just fine for me. I've used it 2 times now and I think I may be purging and I'm just wondering....is it worth it?My skin is usually pretty good these days. I'm past the point of acne, have treated the subsequent PIE and texture issues, my dryness is pretty well managed, I have no complaints. Now I've got some nasty wee spots popping up that are full of goo that I'm having to treat and I'm wondering if I should even bother continuing use with this product.I was just curious to see if introducing a little chemical exfoliant into the routine would do anything for me, would you cut your losses or would you persevere? This is the only thing that's new in my routine, my skincare has otherwise been pretty stable for at least the last 6 months, with most my products being mainstays for the last few years.

[product question] looking for a ‘fatty’ milky serum (or a dupe for hourglass equilibrium biomimetic skin active serum)
Beauty Tips For Body Care
hi everyone, so I was pretty fortunate to be gifted the mentioned hourglass serum and have been enjoying it so I’ve been using it pretty much nightly. I wouldn’t say it’s anything revolutionary or anything to warrant the price tag (no brightening action or similar although it doesn’t claim that tbf) but I did enjoy itI’m nearing the end now, so I’m looking for something to replace this mostly because I really really really enjoyed the texture and nourishing properties of this serum. The best way I can describe it is, that it’s like a fatty milk? It’s not oily but deeply nourishing like an oil, it just absorbs nicely and left my skin feeling very healthy.I’m not using many actives atm because I’ll be introducing tret soon, so I’m looking for a similarly moisturizing and sorta basic serum, that’s cruelty free and will not cost me half my rent lol

[Acne] Help! I've been on epiduo for 5 weeks now
Beauty Tips For Body Care
It's been five weeks i'm on epiduo. My skin started to purge after week one and has never been worse, then the pimples of my purge started to fade away and get a little better i could see an improvement that made me have hope and thought that the purge was going away, but it's been a few days that my skin is getting worse again after weeks of improvement (there's nothing that might've triggered it as i keep the same simple routine with no new incorporate products). Can anyone help me with that? Is that normal that my skin got so much worse and purged, then improved a lot, and now i'm breaking out again? Thank you so much for your replies cause i'm really down right now.

I literally don’t go out and if I do it’s where sun isn’t…. the most my skin will be in sun/direct sunlight is no more then 5 minutes ever….. I wear spf 50 all the time everywhere, I do not get more then 10 minutes of sun a week EVER, could this fear of sun damage acctually be making my skin worse? [Sun care] No more burning eyes because of sunscreen
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Quick tip i found out. We all know that some sunscreens burn your eyes and that stings badly. Bad for driving or just doing your work. I found that applying some powder on your eyes and below it helps. Its not a 100% as if you rub your eyes hard enough it will still sting, but it helped for me!

Combo product to save time and money? [Routine Help]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Every morning, I put on:Heritage Store Rosewater and Glycerin tonerEarth Science Hyaluronic Acid SerumPaula's Choice Niacinamide BoosterKiehl's Ultra Facial CreamIt occurred to me that I could probably find a product that combines some of these ingredients, which might end up costing less and would certainly save me some time with my routine. For example, something that includes glycerin, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide in one product.Does something like this exist? Can somebody make a recommendation?

For example, something that includes glycerin, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide in one product.Does something like this exist? Can somebody make a recommendation?

[Acne] Can water that has been sitting for a while cause acne?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I use a spray bottle to apply water to my face while cleansing. I do this because I need to avoid getting hands wet too many times (I have eczema on my hands)The water has been sitting for a few weeks. Just wondering if this could contribute to acne, maybe because of bacteria growth. I have quite mild acne, mostly closed comedones on my forehead. Should I change the water every time? I simply never thought to change it.It's tap water which has been fluoridated.

[skin concern] Acne prone sensitive skin in freezing warehouse - what to do??
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey,First of all, if anyone reads through this and leaves a comment, thank you so much in advance! I am currently at a bit of a loss. Background informationI am a 22 yr old male. I've had acne for about 3-4 years and about 2 yrs ago it got pretty bad. Cystic acne all around my chin and some on my forehead. More or less never anything on my cheeks, but everywhere else, sometimes including my neck. I started using 5% benzoyl peroxide when it got really bad and I saw varied results, but my skin never really cleared up completely. In february, I was fed up, and went to see a dermotologist. It was a very short session, but he prescribed me a standard antibiotic pill cure + EpiDuo gel (0,3% adapelen and 2,5% BP) every other day for my acne. At the point I started the cure, my acne was not very severe, but I had regular flair ups including some cystic acne. This cure was somewhat successfull, and in some periods my skin was more or less clear. This cure ended after 3 months, and after this my skin has been better, but not anywhere near clear.Current routineWashing my face AM and PM using Cosmica Face Clean Gel (hope the link works) and moisturizing using standard CeraVe.Most nights also applying the EpiDuo before moisturizer. In the time before my problem started, I would also exfoliate once a week with the Ordinary AHA/ BHA peeling solution.Current problemI am working in a warehouse for the summer. It's about 0 degrees (32 FH) in there. Some days im in the freeze section where its -25 degrees (-13 FH). This is very cold compared to the summer weather outside. I've found that my skin was reacting to this. Skin started burning when I was applying moiusturizer/ washing my face. My face went very red when I was done at work and got back into a warmer climate (I have very fair skin, so blushing/ redness is not uncommon for me, but this was intense). I started covering my face more and using a hat + stopped washing my face in the morning to allow some natural oils on my face - this helped some, but not very much.Acne is not anywhere near cleared. I have regular flairups, though they are not as bad as they were 2 yrs ago. I constantly have some acne on my face. I will usually break out, and it will slowly go away, but before my skin clears, I have another break out. I think alchohol contributes to break outs from what I can tell (would love to hear if anyone has a similiar experience). My questions for youI would appreciate feedback on my routine. I would really love to clear my acne, but I don't really know what to do at this point. I was honestly assuming that a dermotologist would be able to put me on a more permanent cure. Should I go back to a dermo to get a more intense cure or is this something I could solve with the right routine.Considering my skin is very sensitive given my current work in warehouse, I don't know if I should back down on the EpiDuo, or if this would even help. I am trying to balance treating my acne with not doing to much to my skin so that the skin barrier can heal. Thanks for reading.

[Acne] I gave myself acne
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi so about a year ago, I decided that I wanted to start a skin care routine. Before ask I ever did was wash my face with dove and put on a moisturizer. My skin was fine but I wanted to get rid of dark marks from acne I had in high school. Well I started a 12 step skin care routine and my face just completely lost it. I used the products for months, thinking that it was normal to break out a little before the products start working but after months and not seeing any progress, I finally stopped using them and went back to my old routine. But fast forward 6 months later, my skin is still acne ridden and didn't look like it'll be going away any time soon... im really reluctant to put any more products on my face. I have eczema and sensitive skin. Any help is appreciated.

[personal] Do you ever wonder if your products are doing more harm than good?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I’m pregnant and stopped any sense of consistent regime. Most days I don’t even wash my face let alone use product.I feel like my skin looks 5 years younger at least. I attribute this mostly to hormones - no acne, water retention - plumper, better hydration - growing a human is thirsty work.On top of that I can’t help but wonder if all the “beneficial” ingredients/products I’ve used over the years have actually done nothing/damage.What products do you use consistently that you feel confident are really improving your skin health?

[Research] How far do topical retinoids travel/communicate throughout the skin?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm kinda on a mission to determine the effects topical retinoids can have on our Meibomian glands, and their relation to meibomian gland dysfuction aka dry eye disease. While there has been a lot of research done on systemic forms of retinoids taken orally and their proven links to meibomian gland dysfuction and atrophy. Little to negligible research has conducted into the effects topical retinoids can have on our ocular health. My basic understanding of how Retinoids work is that they communicate cell by cell and have signalling effects on the proliferation and differentiation of these cells. I'm wondering is there any literature that talks about how far they can travel/migrate throughout the skin? I'm wondering for example, if you apply topical retinoids (in my case Adapalene 0.1) on the forehead is there anyway the Retinoids could somehow effect the meibomian glands in the eyes? Can topical Retinoids travel that far?

[Acne] Vitamin A and Cystic Acne - Can i take Cod Oil Liver Everyday ?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi everyone,I'm 27 and i have a hard cystic acne, it started when i was 14. Everytime i have nodules on my chin.My doctor recommends to me to do Acutane but i dont want (i think it's too dangerous for the human body). So i don't want to do Acutane. But i have searched on the internet and i found a solution. The Cod Oil Liver! It supplies the body with vitamin A (natural Retinol). It's for sure a minor rate of Retinol despite Acutane (4000 % lower) but it's natural. So, now it's"s 1 month I took Cod oil, liver, and I can see the benefits on my skin! Every day my skin looks better (more smooth and lower cyst). It is possible to take everyday Cod Oil Liver (365 days per year) or I need to make some breaks?sorry for my english

[Sun Care] Want to try a tinted sunscreen, but worried people will be able to tell it’s tinted
Beauty Tips For Body Care
[Sun Care] I am a cisgender man, I’ve never worn make up of any kind before. Before anyone comes for me, let me just say I see nothing wrong with men wearing makeup. However, unfortunately in our society that isn’t always socially accepted.I recently saw a tik tok taking about cotz tinted sunscreen, and everyone in the comments was saying how much they loved it. I was thinking about buying it to help even my skin tone a bit, but I’m worried people will be able to tell. Is tinted sunscreen obvious? Will people be able to tell just from looking at my skin that I’ve got something on?

[Anti-Aging] Found new HG routine
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I did some research on Hyalauric Acid and happened to learn about Squalane oil as well. Instead of using creams with Hyalauric acid I ordered pure hyalauric acid from The Ordinary. They sell squalane oil too but I used Indie Lee brand and they source only from olives and it's an amazing! The Ordinary sources squalane oil from the cheapest source they can find. I mist my face with water then put the hyaluaric acid on and rub it in. I use a small brush I bought on amazon and on one side it has a small rubber pad with rubber 'dots' meant to massage the skin. I wait a few minutes and then use the Indie Lee squalane oil afterwards and the same brush but this time I use the soft brush to rub the oil in. My skin has never looked better or been softer. I don't even need to use moisturizer in the mornings before putting on makeup. I've noticed a difference in fine lines and wrinkles.I found this by trial and error and it's something that's finally made a huge difference for me.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I’ve heard that bacteria cannot develop a resistance to BP, however, What was once a perfect solution to facial acne (caused by folliculitis) it now has no effect at all. The same can be said for Clydamycin (which cleared me for over a year)I can’t really find anything online, so if anybody has any information that may help I would very much appreciate it.

[Anti-Aging] A few questions about retinol
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I am a 26 yo female and I have ordered the ordinary in squalene (the lowest dosage) to reduce the appearance of fine lines in my forehead. It's my first retinol product ever. I understand you must use sunscreen daily and I already do.But what worries me and I know it sounds silly, is that my window allow some light in. And since it's summer time, from 6 am, my room is quite bright even if I am still asleep and thus not applying sunscreen. So I am afraid I will catch some UV while sleeping and that it will damage my skin if I applied retinol before going to bed. My question is : is this amount of sun exposure significant ?Besides, I am concerned about the safety of its application at my age : will this affect the ability of my skin to produce collagen forever or can you just use it to "boost" your skin temporarily with no long -term effects ? I am scared to mess up with my skin, as if retinol would speed my collagen production now and I would be left with nothing at 50(I know, it's very unscientific haha š If you have any studies to reassure me, don't hesitate ! I would be very eager to learn)Lastly, if I use this now and my fine lines disappear, do I have to pursue the treatment ?How long after an interruption does the skin remain sensitive to the sun ?Thank you so much

[Skin Concerns] Does Adapalene have the same skin-thickening properties as Tretinoin? (acne+red spots+dark circles under eyes)
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've had moderate acne since I can remember and it also leaves red marks that haven't faded for years. I've been using Azelaic Acid 20% and Benozyl Peroxide for over a month and I've yet to see any progress.I also have extreme dark circles under eyes. The kind of that makes me look like a drug addict, even if I use a concealer. It's my biggest insecurity I've been doing loads of research recently and read that Tretinoin can help with both acne and dark circles as it thickens the skin over time, and that's my issue when it comes to dark circles (very thin skin, visible veins). But it's prescription only in my country and only available with antibiotics, there isn't any Tretinoin-only medicine. However Adapalene (Differin) is available, also prescription only. My question is whenever it also has the same properties as Tretinoin where it thickens the skin over time, so I could use it both for acne/red spots treatment and try using it under my eyes to help with the dark circles.Any help would be appreciated. I'm from Poland by the way.

[acne] Does post-pill acne happen to every woman?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I am 18 and I started experiencing acne which probably was hormonal at the start of the pandemic and after a few months I went to a dermatologist who prescribed antibiotics which work against inflammation. They helped a bit but it still wasn’t enough so I was then prescribed the Yaz pill. I had been taking the pill for almost a year until I started having bad migraines because of it, hence I cannot take any combination pills anymore, and the progestin only pills don’t help acne. I also have a skin care routine and I use Benzoyl peroxide. I also mostly eat healthily except for the occasional sweet treat during the day or maybe junk food once a month. My skin really cleared up but now I’m scared that it will reappear all over again because every post of article I’ve found of women who used to take the pill all had terrible breakouts and I couldn’t find one post which stated that they didn’t experience this. Is it possible that the acne phase is over or could this be avoided since I haven’t even taken the pill for a whole year? Can starting supplements like zinc prevent a breakout? Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

[Research] For those of you considering fillers: Study shows HA fillers still in the face after 12 years but not where it was originally placed, may also cause bone resorption
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I recently did some research as i was contemplating the idea to do some HA fillers, and stumbled upon a few studies suggesting these are not that temporary and inoffensive after all. They say HA fillers do not spill yet these guys (link below) have been checking the MRIs of tons of injection patients and found that the fillers were still in some 12 years later and had migrated all over the face even beneath the eyeballs, with all sort of consequences and headaches to have it extracted.https://youtu.be/VV-VbyNhzUMMore worrying another recent study concluded that Hyaluronic Acid injections induced facial bone resorption, which is a major catalyst of facial aging. So considering that HA fillers migrate everywhere this means that long term it could potentially accelerate aginghttps://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32740576/It is not clear why this information is not more in the headlines given the current hype around dermal fillers. These synthetic products seem risky and a waste of money knowing that our own fat can be transferred instead for a more permanent and natural resultAnyone aware of these side effects?

[Acne] Those with genetic acne. The only way to solve your problem is "Dermatology"
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Life is short. Stop wasting your time looking for advice.Trust me.I understand it's expensive to see a derm, but calculate how much "TIME" you've spent trying and failing various products for your acne. There's a chance it's cheaper to see a derm than continuing to spend money on products aimlessly. In total, from first visiting my dermatologist to curing my acne, it was about $900. I've had acne for almost 8 years, I guarantee I've spent more than $1000 over those years on acne cures and I had nothing to show for it.

[Misc] Skincare Routine getting ingested during making out?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Okay, I know it sounds weird and maybe the answer is like very obvious but I’ve been worrying about this a lot lately. So I recently started a skincare routine which involves Vit C + Vit E + Niacinamide in the mornings and a Retinol cream and a sleeping mask at night. The night routine is more of a PM routine, roughly around 7-8PM after my evening workout. This has been amazing for my skin and I’m seeing very good results for my hyper pigmentation and acne scars. Now the thing is, when bf and I are going for sexy times, we kinda like to lick… everywhere… but specially the face and neck when making out. I didn’t really think about this before but the other night he said he tasted something on my face which he couldnt describe and the only thing I can think of is my skincare products? Now I am worried that he has been ingesting retinol and all those chemicals in the creams all this time? I’m kinda worried now because you see the “external use only” label on most of skincare products so like how does this work? I do use no-parabens and plant based products but still.I guess I’m wondering if I am right to be worried about this? If so, what do others do in this situation? Sorry if its a weird question.
