Beauty Tips For Body Care
Previously I was using Philosophy Purity cleanser. It works great for me, but I don't love the price. In my hunt for more cost effective options I have tried the Cerve cleanser which made my entire face break out in little pimple-like bumps, and the Neutrogena Gentle Daily foaming cleanser. I love the Neutrogena cleanser but I feel like its been causing an eczema break out around my eyes. I haven't been using any other new or different products on my face, so I think it's reasonable to assume the cleanser is the issue. Do you guys have any other recommendations, or should I just quit being cheap and go back to the Purity that has always treated my face well?

[Personal] My keratosis pilaris is spreading every year and I'm losing it. Feeling really insecure.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've always had KP on my arms, but it's been spreading the past 3 or 4 years (I'm 21, if that means anything). I've always been able to keep it somewhat under control, meaning tiny red bumps but no inflamed stuff, with a basic routine. Gentle cleanser (I use Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Hydrating) with a loofah every couple of days, Stridex pads out of the shower, Eucerin professional repair lotion 20 min later and again in the morning. I'm self conscious about it, but whatever. The year before college, it hit my thighs. Last year, it was my bum. Now, I get it on my middle back and under my chest (about wear my bra strap would fit). It seemed clothing related, so I switched to All Free & Clear detergent. No improvement. I guess now I will try dairy or gluten free, and see a dermatologist. Maybe I'll have to try ditching any clothing that actually touches my skin.I've tried AmLactin, Gold Bond Rough & Bumpy, coconut oil, cutting soaps entirely, dry boar brushes, and salux cloths. No improvement.I'm just frustrated because it's taken over my whole body. All that's left is my face and neck, and if it spreads there I'll lose my mind.Any advice or encouragement would be really appreciated.

[Skin Concerns] How to lighten shadow above upper lip? Melasma?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I posted two months ago with the same concern. I am an eighteen year-old African-American female with combination skin. I am not acne prone, but I do experience breakouts. I also have mild eczema but rarely on my face. I first noticed the shadow in middle school when a mean boy asked me, "Why do you have a 5 o'clock shadow?" I panicked and then tried bleaching, shaving, waxing (and there is rarely hair on my upper lip), and makeup but nothing worked. Five years later, it hasn't improved. I have no idea why I have it, or why it is so prominent on me, as my family members do not really have this problem. I thought I had melasma, but when I posted two months ago someone confirmed that I didn't. After getting advice here, I started using Reviva Labs 10% Glycolic Acid cream at night everyday all over my face and I would apply my Clean and Clear moisturizer over that. I apply 50 SPF twice a day, but since I am a high school student, I'm rarely outdoors. Here is a before: http://imgur.com/bYb5mnc And after: http://imgur.com/YvKM6SL See, not a noticeable difference, if any. I don't see the point in repurchasing because I wasn't astonished by this product. I really want a solution to this, because I am tired of feeling insecure about myself everyday. My family, nor I (with a part time job) cannot afford to spend a lot of money on expensive products, so it would have to be affordable $20 or less, unless the product is guaranteed to work. Any advice would be appreciated. :)

[Misc] Humidifiers - What am I looking for?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm looking for a humidifier.Short story of me: About 1.5yr post-accutane. Skin is still particularly dry, and dry eyes and lips. Living in Ireland, the air can be very dry, especially now that it's very windy.I don't have much of an idea of what I'm doing at all, so I was hoping to get some advice on what I should look for in a humidifier. I've selected some promising products, what do you think? (Does it matter whether it's cool mist or warm mist?)My room is quite small and I have a small budget.https://goo.gl/6ru0l1https://goo.gl/j3tz3lhttps://goo.gl/8Ge2DAhttps://goo.gl/uSoEp3https://goo.gl/bfM94Hhttps://goo.gl/nn2rIsThanks

[Product Question] Do chemical exfoliants have negative long term impact on the skin?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
So over the past couple of days, I've been hanging out at r/asianbeauty, and I've been seeing some doubts about the prolonged usage of AHA/BHAs. In one thread, a user said that she had read that chemical exfoliants can cause "premature cell turnover." I don't know what that means, but when I asked her source her information, I never got an answer back. I messaged my Curology provider about this, too, but I haven't gotten a response yet. Today, a new thread was posted asking if chemical exfoliants cause skin sagging, because a user reported that she noticed more pronounced frown lines and sagging cheeks when she incorporated lactic acid in her routine. I'm assuming that these posts are not really referencing overexfoliation because there isn't really mention of shining skin or irritation, but I won't disregard the possibility that it is a contributor.I love using actives, but because my skin philosophy is prevention rather than turning back time, it'd really suck if everything that I was doing to it was actually just giving temporary beautiful effects while hurting it like crazy in the long run. I'd love to know if anyone could give insight on this issue.

[Skin Concerns] My skin is oily, very oily. Nothing I do is helping.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
My skin, particularly my face, has been very very oily for quite some time. Thankfully I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't grow acne out of this oil. However, the oil can get so much in just a few hours that it literally gets in and hurts my eyes, maybe even making it blurry. I wear glasses so they just start slipping.I don't touch my face too much, no more than needed. I also don't use ANY products - I exfoliate once a week with honey + sugar mix and that's all. I'm also a part of "NoPoo" which makes my hair look much better but could be attributing to the oil. However, I still have a lot of oil even if I shampoo. I use a natural argan oil conditioner every 2 days.I do not wash my face in the morning. I sleep on freshly washed pillowcases. My diet isn't the best, but it's a lot better than it used to be and I didn't have as severe of an oil problem before. What can I do to decrease this oil?

[PSA] Telemed service Nurx offers BC w/o a doctor's appointment!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I just found out that Nurx launched this month in my state. Perfect timing because my derm recommended a change in my BC but insisted I get the Rx through my GP. GP can't see me for over a month, so this is a convenient alternative! The service is free to use and currently available in California, Washington, New York, Washington, D.C., Illinois, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. [Misc] What to talk about concerning skincare when your audience is mostly teenagers?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Background info:I am a part of quite big (around 60k+) community focused on make-up&skincare. It's facebook based and we do snapchat rotations where voted for people can talk about their collection, routine, hair-care etc. I have been voted to take over snapchat in a week and I need some help. What I am gonna do:I already decided that I want to talk exclusively about skincare, more so scientifically than giving my exact routine (we all know each skin is different), but that too I suppose. The thing is, a lot of people from the group are teenagers (14, 15, 16 year olds) and I wish to tell them about all things connected with taking good care of your skin. I have seen my fair share of absolutely terrible skincare advice within that group so I want to educate them a little, help them establish a healthy routine etc. What I need a help with:I don't have unlimited time so I need to pick a few subjects and I'd like to ask you, ScA what kind of information you wish you'd get when you were younger? What do you think will be appealing enough to such young audience? How to talk to them about science behind skincare (basic chemistry etc.) without them getting bored/not understanding? The things I plan to mention as of now (in no particular order):-how to read ingredient lists -skin pH and pH of products -why is using baking soda/salt/cinnamon/lemon juice a bad idea -brief talk about how skincare routine should look like (order, what to focus on with which product) -general talk about acids and how they work -general talk about oils (maybe OCM too?) -sun protection -the issue of "natural is always good/better than non-natural stuff"Any help will be greatly appreciated!

[Personal] That moment when you figure out the common denominator in your skincare issues.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I've had super clear skin until partway through last summer, at which point my skin started breaking out on my forehead and my cheeks in a way that was more aggressive than I had ever experienced. Moreover, I've been moisturizing like crazy recently and still somehow have an itchy, flaky forehead. I was convinced that my skin's golden years were just over. This had continued for months on end and for some reason literally five minutes ago, I came across this picture. This picture, guys.LITERALLY WHERE I HAD BEEN BREAKING OUT FOR MONTHS ON END, WHILE METHODICALLY CUTTING OUT EACH OF MY BELOVED RIDE-OR-DIE SKINCARE PRODUCTS THAT HAVE DONE ME NOTHING BUT GOOD. internal screamingIt was my haircare products. Midway through the summer, I switched from Head & Shoulders to Tresemmé for my shampoo and conditioner. Probably exactly when I started breaking out.I want to cry and kick myself for this, but I'm ultimately relieved that it wasn't a) a hormone imbalance b) me developing a sudden allergy to one of my HG products nor c) the universe punishing me for something I did in a past life. I felt like a detective in some film noir movie when he realizes where all of the red lines intersect.I have since hugged all of the products in my skincare routine and thoroughly apologized to them for having even considered that they were at fault for my unfortunate skin problems for the past few months. Hopefully they forgive me.Sorry for the long post. If you have a similar story, then please share it too!

Clinique Maximum Hydrator for Men [Product Question]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello all,I'm a non-skincare-savvy guy who has been using something called Clinique Maximum Hydrator for Men. I have acne-prone skin and it's been doing great at moisturizing without making me break out.I'm wondering if there are comparable alternatives. I've discovered that what I'm using is considered "upmarket" and so am curious whether I can get the same effect for a lower cost. If not, that's cool too; I like what it's doing. Curious for any recommendations. Thanks!

[Routine Help] Just got my curology Rx, and realized I shouldn't be combining Retin-A with AHA, need help adjusting my routine
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'll start with my current routineDay Philosophy Purity Cleanser FAB Ultra Repair Cream Misc moisturizer around my bathroom, Biore Aquarich on orderNight Philosophy Purity Cleanser FAB Ultra Repair Cream Alternate nightly FAB AHA Brilliance pads, Retin-AI just got confirmation my curology order shipped, containing Azelaic acid, clindamycin and zinc pyrithione. I just grabbed a box of the strides redbox today as well. I noticed literally just now that I'm not supposed to use AHA or BHA with retin-a? Does alternating days work? Or would you suggest arranging them differently or cutting out some products all together? My curiology doctor just said to use them a couple times per week (excluding the redbox which I got today) until I make sure I don't have a reaction.A side question is that I was trying to find in the FAQs when I need to start using an under eye cream. I found a wide swing of answers online.

[PSA] My rash peeps: Sometimes you gotta spring for the antibiotics
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I am a very holistic chick and avoid antibiotics at all costs. I think they can destroy your gut and there are natural ways to resolve most ailments.I recently started getting a sweet rash around my mouth. I had been doing hot yoga a lot, and so I originally thought it was heat rash but I soon realized it wasn't temporary and was likely the monster that is perioral dermatitis.I worked so hard to treat it from inside out. I tried all of these different things over the course of a few months: Zinc oxide powder ointments (this helped the most out of anything, but not enough), tea tree oil, aquaphor, applying absolutely nothing for a few days, clindamaycin lotion, quitting dairy, quitting sugar, and more. The scaly and bumpy rash only got worse and continued to spread. My self esteem was shot and I avoided socialization at all costs. Misery!I finally gave in to my dermatologist's recommendation for minocycline (and probiotics to go with it), even though I felt certain it wasn't a bacterial rash. I'm clean, y'all! Low and beyond, less than 4 days later and this sucker is cleared up. I still have some redness, but the rash has gone down about 95%. Woo hoo!

[ACNE] Calling all healthcare professionals: How do you prevent breakouts under your surgical mask?

I wear a surgical mask for 4+ hours per day. I inevitably sweat as I work, and breathing and exhaling into the mask creates a pocket of moisture around my face. [personal] GUYS!! A sugar free diet cured my acne!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have been on a sugar free diet for a month now. I usually have at least 4 breakouts on my face. Even during THAT time of the month my face was completely clear. I started this diet for other health reasons and this just so happened to be one of the effects. I still have a lot of scarring but I'm sure time and exfoliants will help.

[Acne]two things that dramatically helped my back acne when accutane didn't.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Had bad cystic acne and bacne in my teens. Accutane got rid of my facial acne but my back- body cystic acne remained. Some of it was extremely painful and literally the size of a golf balls. After a lot of trial and error, diets , soaps,I finally found what the culprit was.1.Conditioner and soap scum clogs pores badly.I stopped using shampoo and conditioner. I only use dry shampoo now(Hair is also best its ever been lol). Never use soap on my back just water from the shower head. Back acne dramatically went down especially the bigger cystic ones with this. This also stopped me from getting huge embarsassing cysts on my neck.2.Using MUCH less laundry detergent and doing and extra rinse cycle to make sure NO detergent is left on clothes.I use literally half the ''1'' mark for large loads and clothes comes out smelling good and i go to the gym and work a physical job. Remember clothes are clean when they don't smell BAD, doesn't need to smell like overpowering spring flowers.Frangrance does not= Clean. The movement of the water actually does most of the cleaning unless your clothes is stained(Trust me on this , try it and you will see).If you have a frontal washing machine make sure to also use HE detergent as they don't rinse as well. When clothes still has detergent and comes it contact with skin it will clog pores badly especially if you sweat than your shirt sticks to skin and detergent sort of ''transfers'' to your skin and creates a detergent barrier which obviously clogs pores especially for people with acne prone skinThese two things pretty reduced my body acne by 99 percent i still get tiny pimples once in a while but nothing painful or easy to see.

Or just suck it up and wait it out?I have oily skin, and my routine is:MORNING: -Cleanse with Neutrogena Deep Clean Long Lasting Shine Control -Tone with La Roche-Posay Effaclar Clarifying Solution (currently pausing on this because my skin is all of a sudden irritated by this after months with this routine) -Sculpt Face Vitamin C Serum -Neutrogena UltraSheer Liquid Sunscreen SPF 70 -Moisturize with Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer -Make upNIGHT: -Cleanse with Neutrogena Deep Clean Long Lasting Shine Control -Tone with La Roche-Posay Effaclar Clarifying Solution (also pausing on this at night) -Curology prescription: 0.009% tretinoin, 1% clindamycin, 9% azelaic acid -Moisturize with Neutrogena Hydro Boost MoisturizerThanks in advance for your help :)

[Anti-aging] Is 1% Retinol Dangerous?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi there!Wanting to buy a retinol product due to sun damage and getting fairly worried about wrinkles. I have heard that retinol is the product to go for. Everyone on this subreddit suggests The Ordinary's Retinol 1% product so I went on their website, then found this under the description:"EU Shipping Note: We are able to ship this product within the European Union. However, please note that the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety has published an opinion on April 20, 2016 suggesting that Retinol content of cosmetics should be limited to 0.3% as summarized on page 67 of the publication listed below. While this opinion has not yet affected regulatory restrictions, it may in the near future and such restriction would apply to all products sold within the EU containing Retinol. We recommend considering Advanced Retinoid 2% from The Ordinary if you are concerned about use of Retinol products."Makes me think that Retinol is dangerous for you? I have read on some other websites that it can cause cancer? How true is this? I mean, even if it elevates your risk ever so slightly, I wouldn't want to touch the stuff. So on their website, The Ordinary says that if you are worried, you should get the Retinoid 2% but I am concerned that this isn't strong enough to help reduce the impact of skin damage as well as the Retinol 1% would. They say on their website that the Retinoid 2% is better for anti-aging but how true is this?In summary...in 1% Retinol risky and would the Retinoid 2% give good/better anti-agining (due to sun damage) results than 1% retinol? Thanks guys!

[Acne] Help Please! I put a hyrdrocolloid bandage overnight over a cyst and it left a huge hole in it!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
This is the first time I'm using a hydrocolloid bandage. I put it on a huge that had a head and I left it for about 12 hours overnight and when I removed it most of the cyst was gone but it left a big bleeding hole in it. The bleeding has now stopped but I am very concerned about scarring. The wound looks fresh, so I am very hopeful that there is something to be done to prevent scarring. What should I do to prevent it?PICS: http://imgur.com/a/fuLWZP.S. That thing on the right is my nose.I've been on accutane treatment of low dosage (20mg) for 8 months, in case that's helpful. I also can't go to my dermatologist since it's Sunday. Any tip to prevent scarring is very much appreciated!EDIT: Guys someone please help me. I'm very stressed out. Some posts on reddit say to put the hydrocolloid bandage back on, some say to apply moisturizer on it (how often? Oily or oil-free moisturizer?). I literally don't know what to do now.

[Misc] A mind blowing realization
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have been getting acne between my eyebrows a lot and today when I was drinking water from my glass I didn't tilt my head far back enough so the rim hit me between my eyebrows. The acne I have been having might be caused by me sucking at drinking from glasses with a dirty rim. Just wanted to share in case this might help someone.

[Skin concern] Would it be it safe to use an AHA if I have broken capillaries?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey guys! So, to put it as briefly as I can - I've been on Epiduo for the past 5 years. It has worked wonderfully for me in addressing my hormonal chin acne. However, during this whole period - I have done nothing to protect myself against the extra sensitivity using benzoyl peroxide causes on my already fair, Irish skin. I would go out in the sun and never wear sunscreen. I wouldn't even apply moisturiser after I applied my Epiduo at night because I didn't think it was necessary (although my skin would be constantly dry and flakey). Yep. I know.About 6 months ago I went over my skin 'routine' (which didn't even really exist tbh) and conducted a lot of research. I think I almost cried when I came to terms with the fact that I had been neglecting such an important step for so damn long. I've now been using Olay Complete Daily Defense 30 SPF (broad spectrum) on my face every single morning.Pic @: (the lighting makes my skin look a bit better than it is) http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=x3h75s&s=9#.WLKtKdJ95dgMy main problem is hyper pigmentation (which would've only been worsened by the sun...) and broken capillaries and blood vessels. Which I can only guess is pinpointed to the fact I have constantly neglected sunscreen. My problem isn't even pimples anymore (it was this bad at one point: http://static.acne.org/ipb_uploads/gallery_195818_13178_36035.jpg) - although I do get at least one on my chin every few days and I recently broke out after tyring to implement rosehip oil into my routine.BUT my question here is: I have recently decided to incorporate an AHA into my routine - specifically the Derma V overnight peel which I thought would be best for my skin as it's only 5% AHA so not too harsh. I'm currently waiting for it to be shipped to me off iHerb, however now I'm having mixed feelings on whether I should use it, as I've heard that AHA's can make broken capillaries worse - but I have also heard that exfoliating can help with sun damaged skin. So I'm torn. Does anybody have any information or advice about this?I used to be plastered in freckles and now I can't even see them because they've like.. merged into my horrible skin tone. I seriously feel like I've completely ruined my skin to the point of no return which makes me want to cry because I'm only 20 years old. :( I've been thinking about getting a laser treatment at my local skin clinic but I was really hoping I could use an AHA product to try and help out but now I'm worried it might do more harm than good. I seriously don't know what to do.

[B&A] V-Beam treatment for broken capillaries on nose - 5 week update
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Before and after picturesHey guys! Sorry for the late update! I previously posted about my v-beam treatment progress here: http://imgur.com/a/kMLR1I had extremely purple bruising right after the treatment, but it slowly faded over a several week span. Most of my broken caps have faded too! I'd say it's about a 70% improvement. (The lighting in the before and after pictures differs a bit, so it looks more like a 90% improvement.) Pretty happy with my results, but I have two thin broken caps left on my left nostril and a little swirl-like broken cap spot just outside my right nostril. I'd get another treatment if it weren't for the severe bruising, so I'm still considering what to do next.I also seem to still have a tiny bit of residual redness around my nostrils, but it could just be me or from the fact that my face in general in kinda irritated right now because of the winter dryness. It seems to be fading slowly, though.BTW the reddish dots along the folds of my nostrils are not broken caps but perpetually clogged pores :(

[Routine Help] Need new routine for acne prone and oily skin!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I am 20 yrs old and I've had acne since middle school. It is fairly mild, mostly hormonal stuff on my chin, temples/hairline, occasionally my cheeks and forehead. My skin is sensitive and fairly oily (something I am looking to improve) especially in my t zone, and by the end of the day my makeup is separated and wipes right off. I'm trying lots of new makeup products but I think focusing on my skincare routine could help as well. My current routine: -wash my makeup off at night in the shower with Clarisonic and The Body Shop Tea Tree foaming cleanser -use Urban Decay B6 spray, Clinique Dramatically different moisturizing gel, and the body shop tea tree oil before bed -next morning I use the B6 spray and moisturizer again before applying makeup I have tried many skin products and have seen little difference. I also have acne on my back which I would like to get rid of but everything the dermatologist prescribes does nothing. The most improvement I saw (cleared up almost completely) were antibiotics, however I've taken a lot of antibiotics and shouldn't take anymore. I have tried Proactiv, didn't help. I have been looking into the Avene Cleanance line which I would like to try. I've also stopped taking my birth control for the past couple months (which I went on to help with acne but has made no difference, and possibly made it worse). I feel like my skincare routine as of now is mediocre and does little for my skin except getting the makeup off. I am a rookie at skincare, please enlighten me!

[Misc] Something I realized recently that seems extremely obvious is hindsight...
Beauty Tips For Body Care
For the longest time, I would use so many different moisturizers at night, and when I would go to wash my face in the morning, they would always wash off (same with body lotion in the shower). I thought this was completely normal for the longest time.I now realize that I can't use products with certain fatty alcohols because they won't completely absorb into my skin. This products I use now dissolve completely into my face, and my skin hasn't felt this soft in years. So for everyone reading, If your moisturizing washes off in the skin or in the shower, it's probably not compatible with your skin.

[before&after] 2 months of skincare!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
https://imgur.com/a/cR5DTProud of my progress so far. The biggest thing for me is STAYING AWAY from mirrors. I get too tempted to pick at my tiny imperfections. Before January, I was washing my face with hand soap or dawn once a day. Now, here's my routine:AM: Cleanse with derma E cleanser Use vitamin c serum Cerave moisturizerPM: Cleanse with derma e Stridex every other day Vitamin c, then moisturizerI also use mint julep masks occasionally and when I have a pimple, I lance it and use a hydrocolloid bandage. I also take biotin, fish oil, vitamin d, and have upped my water intake. Washing makeup brushes and pillow cases are other things I've started paying attention to! It's not perfect, but it's improving and feels softer and smoother.

[Product Question] How to use vitamin c serum?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Can I apply it right after cleansing, or do I have to wait a certain amount of time? I know that you have to wait 20 minutes before applying anything after so it has time to absorb. Also, how much should I use for the face? Like a dime size amount?

[Personal] How can I help my wife? She is 'addicted' to squeezing/picking and trying to fix her skin, when there isn't much wrong with it.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Today is a good example. It's Sunday morning, we are enjoying a bit of a sleep in, 8:30am rolls around and my wife decides to get up because she has things to do. So she gets up goes to the bathroom and I fall back asleep (I don't have anything important to do). I eventually wake up properly just after 10am, get up and find my wife standing in front of the mirror, she has been there since she got up, and has been picking and squeezing and applying various products and swabs of tissue paper, and has been doing so for the last 2 hours, hasn't got dressed, hasn't opened any blinds, hasn't had breakfast, just been there picking and what not. This is clearly obsessive compulsive beahviour because I just realised she kind of does the same thing every morning before work and only stops when I walk in to use the bathroom after her - I'm pretty sure if I didn't she would keep going and never stop and not end up going to work etc etc.She has only some pimples - it's not acne, it's not overly visible to anyone else, but she seems to think she is the most hideous being on the planet. How can I help her to stop this kind of behaviour - I confronted her about it, she is aware of it, but still does it.

[Hair Removal] I think I finally found a solution to my problem with ingrown hairs. Maybe this can help other people, too.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I don't shave very often. Sometimes that means I'll let my hair grow out for a couple of days (if I plan on showing my legs), and sometimes that means going full teddy bear over a couple of months (it's winter and I need the extra insulation to keep warm...or so I tell myself). But for the entirety of my life I have always struggled with ingrown hairs. I've tried so many different razors, shaving creams, exfoliants and moisturizers with no results. I even tried the neosporin trick--I still ended up with a ton of ingrown hairs. I was honestly getting to the point where I was considering saving up for IPL because it felt like there was no point to shaving my legs if they were just going to be sporting a bunch of tiny, painful red bumps. I was beginning to think it was just my lot in life to struggle with ingrown hairs until a few nights ago. I have a new shower caddy that hangs quite high in my shower and I couldn't reach my usual shaving cream, so because I was just being a bit lazy, I picked up my epsom salt body wash instead. I already knew this stuff did wonders for my skin, but I'd never used it like a shaving gel before. I could tell a difference immediately--the razor glided on my legs like never before, and the hair came off with just one pass in most places (had to work a bit with the baby hairs on my thighs, but I always do anyway). No awkward snags or dragging, which isn't entirely unusual with a good quality shaving gel/cream, but it was a good sign that this body wash could actually work as a shaving cream substitute. When I was done, my legs were very smooth and I had a very close shave, which usually spells doom for me. However, I decided to give it a chance and see if it would at least reduce the amount of ingrown hairs I'm used to getting. And here I am, three days later and leg hair starting to get prickly...with absolutely no ingrown hairs. Not a one. And the only thing I did differently was use an epsom salt body wash as my shaving...medium, so to speak. I didn't even exfoliate or moisturize. I don't know if it was the epsom salt or the brand of body wash itself, but I thought I would share the experience if anyone else is like me and just can't get rid of the ingrown hairs. Obviously it's no guarantee, but maybe this will help. TL;DR: Using epsom salt body wash as a shave gel may have solved my ingrown hair issue.Edit: For anyone who wants to know the brand name, it was Dr. Teal's Pure Epsom Salt Body Wash. Unfortunately, it's scented, so this probably won't work out for people who are sensitive to perfumes.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4375771/Hello everyone. I thought I would share with you all this research article I had come across a little while back while looking for possible treatment options for acne scars. I had severe acne back when I was a teenager (currently in my late 20s), and while an eventual round of Accutane effectively cured my acne struggles, I was left with very noticeable rolling acne scars along my cheeks and forehead. I'm currently a poor graduate student, so both the time required and expense for many acne scar treatments were not feasible. In this paper, the researchers had their patients apply 0.025% retinoic acid and 12% glycolic acid to their faces for 12 weeks. The authors recommended to build up slowly to an overnight application of the treatment, washing it off earlier in the night if the application became intolerable. The results in some of the pictures, especially for some of the patients with atrophic scarring, were fairly impressive. This might be useful for people with skin tones that don't respond well to laser treatments (the main population focused on in the paper was Indian).I've been following a milder variation of this protocol for several months now, using a combination of my Curology prescription (0.02% tretinoin/5% vitamin C/4% niacinamide) and Paula's Choice 8% AHA gel. While not as impressive (my scars are at this point almost a decade old), my scarring is becoming much less noticeable, and a lot of the rolling scars are becoming more level with the rest of my skin. At some point when I get good before/after pictures, I will post them.I just thought I would share this option with people as a possible way to improve acne scarring topically (with some research to back it up) that would avoid both excessive cost as well as long recovery times.

[Acne] Has anyone else skincare routine stopped working??
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Over the summer, I used moisturiser and benzoyl peroxide (Duac UK prescribed brand), showered once a day (only wash face with water), and changed my pillow case nightly. Nothing else and my skin was clear, not one spot. Now I'm breaking out everywhere on my face and even my body. I'm 20 so I don't think it's hormones. Any ideas? This imgur album shows the difference, 1st pic was 2016 summer, others yesterday: http://imgur.com/a/qO3UG

[Personal] Does anyone have an SO who also struggles with skin problems/acne?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have severe hormonal acne on my cheeks, and my partner used to have pretty severe acne all over his face, which has now scarred. He also has acne on his shoulders and back. He's the only person with acne I've ever dated, and I've always been self conscious about my skin. But ever since dating him, I don't feel self conscious at all! I used to be terrified of the idea of going anywhere without makeup, and now I go out in public with no makeup all the time, acne on display. I feel so much more confident since getting close to someone who understands what it's like to struggle with skin problems. Anyone else have a similar experience?

[Routine Help] Still purging from BHA - how soon is too soon to introduce an AHA?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've been using Paula's Choice 2% BHA Lotion twice a day (morning and night) for 10 days now. I had never used any kind of chemical exfoliant before, and a few days in I started purging. I'm still experiencing this initial purge but have already seen a noticeable improvement in the texture and radiance of the parts of my skin that don't have a small whitehead/cyst on them, so I'd say my skin is reacting well to the BHA.I have a lot of PIH from old breakouts, and my skin scars easily so I'm worried this purge might also lead to more marks. It seems like a lot of people on this sub have gotten better results with their PIH when combining a BHA and an AHA, so I was hoping to incorporate an AHA into my routine at some point. I'm wondering if now would be too soon, since I've only just started the BHA 10 days ago and am still purging from it?Paula's Choice AHA is a little pricey for me right now since I've just shelled out for the BHA and am on a budget, so I was looking into maybe trying the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads. They contain 5% glycolic acid and an undisclosed percent of salicylic acid, so I was thinking of continuing to use the PC BHA mornings and then one of these pads at night. Would now be an okay time to start using these, or should I wait a little longer for this BHA purge to pass first? Thanks!

[Sun Care] Mega list of fragrance, oxybenzone/octinoxate free sunscreens with Tinosorb, Uvinal A Plus, Uvasorb HEB and Uvinul T150.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
The following sunscreens are alcohol, fragrance, oxybenzone, homosalate and octinoxate free. Most of them have great stable non-irritating sunscreen actives, like Tinosorb, Uvinal A Plus and Uvasorb HEB (absorption graph, info on actives). I don't prefer nano titanium dioxide and nano zinc oxide, since they can have photocatalytic activity and don't provide the best UVA protection, so I don't mention a lot with these physical actives. Myths on organic vs inorganic sunscreens, read this article by kindofstephan. The effect of IR radiation, see this link. Good antioxidants to increase photoprotection, see this link.I tried to avoid the actives like Avobenzone (unstable), Octocrylene (free radicals), Amiloxate (unstable) and Ensulizole (sensitizing to some). If you know more fragrance free sunscreens with only Tinosorb, Mexoryl, Uvasorb HEB, Neo Heliopan AP, Uvinal A Plus or Uvinul T150, let me know.

[Product Question] What's the best konjac sponge for someone like me who always has a TON of oil, flaky residue, and dead skin that takes a ridiculous amount of scrubbing and effort to fully get rid of?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I really don't know how I would describe my skin type. It's either incredibly, INCREDIBLY oily or incredibly dry. What's certain is that by the end of the day my face is just CAKED UP with all this residue of dry skin and oil, and when I get into the shower it takes me forever to scrub it all off, even with a lot of elbow grease and effort. The only thing that really works in getting all this crap off are abrasive beaded scrubs, but I have sensitive skin and I don't want to use those anymore. As a result, I'm looking to get into konjac sponges. Anyone know which one would be the best for me? Any specific brand or type? I hear they're really gentle, so I guess I'd like one that's "rough" enough to take off all the stubborn residue on my face.I'd really appreciate the help as I'm very desperate for a solution. Thanks a bunch!

[ACNE] Acne in between my eyebrows
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have some minor acne in between my eyebrows. I use either Stridex in the green box or Oxy face wipes which are mostly alcohol and salicylic acid. I rotate the two because the Oxy ones are a bit harsh. I have been quite successful with the acne on other areas on my face, because they've disappeared and have not been back for a few weeks now... But the ones in between my eyebrows have persisted. Do any of you happen to know what could help me get rid of these? Here are some pictures of the affected area, maybe it will help you: http://imgur.com/a/jWVfw Sorry the quality isn't the best.

[routine help] Lost in skincare space
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Thought I had a good grip on my skincare routine, but after buying some new products I feel lost in skincare space. My question is how can I combine my products without mixing ingredients that shouldn't be mixed. I have combination skin with redness and some acne. Want to get rid of those spots and to prevent wrinkles (I'm 28).Morning: Step 1: Cleanse with washcloth and want to start with a toner with some acid, fx Pixi glow tonic. Haven't bought it yet. Step 2: The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. And sometimes a hyaluronic serum (don't remember the name) Step 3: CALM Redness Relief moisturizer with spf from Paulas Choice.Evening: Step 1: CALM Redness Relief Cleanser from Paula's Choice. Step 2: Need a new toner...! Step 3: The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2% or Differin/Adapalene. Step 4: Paula's Choice skin recovery hydrating treatment mask as nightcream.MD Formulations scrub with glycolic acid twice a week. Can i use a toner or cleanser with glycolic acid, aha or bha before Niacinamide? What about Niacinamide or Retinoid after the scrub with glycolic acid? I know acids shouldn't be mixed with Retinoid or Niacinamide, but a cleanser or a scrub with acid will be rinsed off before the next products...

[acne]Used accutane, got slightly messed up from it. Some lingering skin problems, need advice.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I took low dose accutance a few months back, knew the risks, but I didn't expect something very rare like getting tinnitus from it... it's minor so I can deal with it so oh well :/.99% of the cystic acne is gone, thank god. I think I have to lance the 1%. Hopefully not, but unless I get something that will kill it off I'll have to do it. I'm over 20, asian, male, and so sick of skin problems. I started scaring really badly suddenly at 19 and any acne (and other injuries) I get sticks with me for many months. The major problem now are little white domes that refuse to disappear. On top of that I get similar looking skin tags around my eyes. Only way to remove those is to scratch them off. The white domes are a bit different (they have redness underneath), so I'm afraid to do the same to those.I've already tried stridex and other salicylic acid, acne free (benzoyl peroxide), glycolic acid lotion, vitamin C serum, 2 basic antibiotics, sunscreen!, washing my face once versus multiple times a day, and different lotions including cerave. Some methods help with the cystic acne, but nothing noticeably helps the white domes. I test my face differently than my chest, so the only common denominator between the two is my equate moisturizing soap so far, but I doubt it makes a difference since I've switched off of it a few weeks ago.I had a dermatologist give me a cream that made pimples form a head a while ago. Should I request whatever that was again? Maybe that would clean my skin up. Or maybe it's time to try the skin peels. Am I not noticing what old method might be working for the white domes? Wtf should I do about the easy scarring and occasional big pimple? Please help.Pics http://mrpopouhoh.imgur.com/all/

[Misc] A letter to you all.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've stumbled upon many posts here with people feeling extremely conscious about their acne. Insecurities, worries that the new routine isn't working out, scars, blotches, redness and all of that jazz. And as someone who's had cystic, painful acne since 13(I'm 17 now) who used to be extremely, extremely embarrassed about it, I relate to it. All of it. I've stood in front of the mirror, enable to fathom how it got so bad. I have almost no pictures from my early teens right up until I was 16 because I was so conscious about it. It was so bad, people in school would call my zits "face nipples". All sorts of names, which fucked with my confidence big time. Nothing worked, and if it did it would come back. With age, its gotten better on its own, but i still suffer from cystic acne(which I'm working on, I've gone to a good dermatologist now). I still have redness, my scars are deep and visible. Its still very much there.Add to the fact that I have other issues(Hair loss) should mean I'm at a really bad point in my life, right? Nope. I'm happy. The moment you...let your shortcomings decide who you are is the moment you lose the battle. I know it looks hideous, I've spent hours looking at the mirror wondering "Why?", so I truly understand. But...don't let it affect your everyday life. Don't let it affect your confidence. Your self respect. Your mental health. It's not worth it. Truly, it isn't. I remember the moment I decided "Fuck this shit" and changed my outlook. That's the moment all that teasing didn't matter. Fuck people who decide the best thing to do is poke fun at you for your face. Fuck that shit man, you don't need such people in your life. Keep smiling, be happy and live life! Really! I probably come off as naive for staying something so simplistic, but think about it for a while and i think you'll know what I mean.Don't beat yourself up for your acne. and wear sunscreen.Yours truly, u/IBurnedMyBalls.

[Routine Help] Is a 25% mandelic acid peel a good start?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Ive been lurking and reading past reddit posts and articles online about acid peels. I was deciding between a mandelic or a glycolic peel but decided to go with a mandelic acid peel for my first time because supposedly, it is more gentle. Because of this, I was wondering if it would be alright if I could use it asap. I've read that people built up tolerance for their peel of choice prior to using it with a smaller percentage. I wanted to know if this is absolutely necessary. I use a 2% salicylic acid body wash on my face 3 times a day and a 10% benzoyl Peroxide cream twice a day. I am a male with a creamy- tanned complexion. Not too dark not too light. I dont know if any of this matters but thought it would include. Is the mandelic peel the better option for my skin type? My main goal is to get rid of hyperpigmentation, both of the darker and redder variety. If it helps with acne, that would be a plus. The benzoyl peroxide already does a good job at that however. Thanks in advance.

[Skin Concerns] What is going on with my under eye area and how do I fix it?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've noticed the past year or so that the dark circles / bags under my eyes have all of the sudden gotten horrible, and I can't figure out why or what to do for it. I've always had a bit of a tear trough that I didn't mind, but this is bad.I've made a collage of my eyes over the past 4-5 years for comparison. Top to bottom, left to right is oldest to most recent.http://imgur.com/hANunxxAnd here is a recent close up: http://imgur.com/AimH8kvThe bottom row of the first picture is what they look like now; terrible. I can't tell what exactly is going on. Is it volume deficency? Hyper pigmentation? Thin skin? A mixture of issues? The only thing I can think of that could cause this is I lost weight (only 15 lbs), techincally I am still 30 lbs overweight. I've even considered gaining that weight back if it means I won't look so tired. My diet hasn't changed much over that time and has probably improved if anything (drinking more water, paying attention to what I eat). I even take better care of my skin now than I did then. I moisturize every day and use sunscreen when I go out. Some days they do seem better for no particular reason, and other days I look like a corpse. I've tried several cold presses, witch hazel with no alcohol, a few creams/serums, none of it helped. I'm planning to get some retinol and quality vitamin c and vit k cream to see if that will help. Also, I will cake on concealer, color corrector and even highlighter but the shadows seem to come through it. There was a week where I tried intermitten fasting and that was the only thing that seemed to help. For three days they were very light, and the rest of my skin was very clear. What can I do to try and find the cause and fix them, or at least prevent them from getting worse??

[Routine Help] I've tried three cleansers now and can't find one that works with my skin. Any help?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
My first cleanser was Cerave Facial Foaming Cleanser. This cleanser extremely dried my skin and made it feel extremely tight. My second cleanser was Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. People told me that this cleanser was more gentle, and it still dried out my skin after using it but not as harsh as the foaming cleanser did. Recently someone from this sub recommended to me l'oreal revitalift cream cleanser so I bought it since it was only $7 at my local store. This cleanser dries out and made my skin tight as well. It wasn't as harsh as the first one but it was worse than the second one.I don't know what else to do/try. My skin type is normally oily but has been dry lately from retin-a/my cleansers.

[Routine Help] Good moisturizer for combination oily, highly sensitive, acne prone skin?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've been having a pretty bad hormonal imbalance since I was 15 (am 19 now) and have been on numerous types of birth control to get the hormones in check. My acne is a lot better when on BC, but I had pretty bad effects with my last one and my doctor wants me off any BC for a while. Lately, my acne is coming back worse than it ever has been before, even worse than it was when I first was told about the imbalance. I have mild cystic acne that's gradually getting worse because of the moisturizer I used. My skin has been getting incredibly dry and dull lately because I had to stop using my Alba Botanics moisturizer and sunscreen due to breaking out in incredibly bad cysts, burning, and a rash. I can't seem to find a good one anywhere and I've tried everything from organic, to luxury, to drug store moisturizers. I used to use the Clinique Moisture Surge (it was a pink gel like moisturizer) for my skin but had to stop because I was allergic to whatever it's scented with. I'm at my wits end and tired of spending money on products that don't work for me, the Alba Botanics moisturizer was my holy grail and I'm just very lost with what to do. I'm also unsure because there's a lot of products out there that are always hyped up but just turn out to be gimmicky.

[Routine Help] Recently got into retin-a, skin is becoming more dry because of it. I read vaseline helps, how do I properly bring vaseline into my routine?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I started using retin-a few weeks ago and noticed my skin is becoming more dry because of it. I read on some threads here that using vaseline helps, but I can't find when to use it and how to properly use it. My current routine in the morning is simple, cleanse+moisturize+sunscreen. Night is same but without sunscreen and add the retin-a.Do I use vaseline after everything else and how do I properly apply it on my face?

[Acne] How do I spot a difference between a healing pimple wound and a PIH?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello! I had a pimple on the center of my nose that lasted 12 days. When the pimple finally dissapeared the skin turned red/dark and after a few days something white in the middle showed up and it has been there ever since. It has now gone 15/16 days and I'd say it's a little better. The colour is still there but it looks like there's a new "skin" on the surface, and the white circle in the middle is getting closer to the surface.(I have also recieved a few white heads close to this area the last two days, could this mean anything aswell?)Thanks to this subreddit I found out that I should apply vaseline after washing my face every morning/evening, I have not recieved any scab yet. What I'm wondering is, would you say that this sounds like a PiH or if this could still be a healing wound or how I could spot a difference. My doctor is not available this week out so I could not get help and I'm failing on capturing a good picture where the small details of this spot can be seen on.Any comment is appreciated, I'm most worried that I'm doing something wrong. I haven't recieved any scab yet and I have never had a healing wound for a long time before. Thanks

[Acne] What do you eat for breakfast?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello! I'm an 18 yo male and I've had acne since I was ~13. Over the years my acne has become quite severe, with it always going away almost completely over the summer and then coming back. I'm quite new to this sub but I've been reading that dairy is supposed to be bad for acne, so I decided to try and not drink milk for some time and see what happens. Before this I had chocolate milk with corn flakes every morning and every afternoon. What do you guys have for breakfast / tea time if you avoid dairies?

[Acne] Tretinoin .05% vs .025% results?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've been on Cephalexin and Aczone for 3 years and started Tretinoin a year ago. Before starting Tretinoin my acne was mild to moderate and I experienced a bad IB for close to 6 months when I started using .025% Tretinoin. After 6 months my skin basically went back to what it was before Tretinoin but now (1 year later) I'm breaking out again.I'm thinking to ask my derm for .05% Tretinoin, but I'm a bit scared because my IB was so bad with .025% and I don't want all the pain to be for nothing. Has anyone had good experience switching from .025% to .05%? Both in terms of IB and final results?

[Acne] Not been happy with my skin lately, until I found some old photos.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
20 year old female who, like any other girl struggles with insecurities. One big insecurity being my face. Day in day out the first thing I notice about any other girl I talk to or look at is their skin.. and instantly become envious of every other girl having nicer skin than me. I'm never happy with my makeup or how I look in photos. I'm in a dance studio every day in university and I find myself looking in the mirror at my skin all the time wondering what people think of my skin.I just settled down for the night; removing make up, having a shower, doing a face mask, cleansing , toning and moisturising my face and I sat in my chair for a few minutes just staring at my 'bad' skin. So I decided to look at some old photos and came across how my skin used to be. This is my comparison photos. 8 months apart.I instantly feel so much more confident and it was the boost I needed. I never thought I'd have nice skin, but in comparison to what I had; I definitely have nice skin now. One thing I've learnt, no-one else actually cares what your skin is like and you need to find your own happiness in being comfortable with what you've got. It will get better, but embrace what you have!

[Misc] Does a emollient/occlusive/humectant blended moisturizer abosrb into the skin?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Since a occlusive protects the outer layer of the skin and pretty much doesn't absorb into the skin like mineral oil or petroleum. But what about those hundreds of moisturizers that contain humectants, emollient oils, with an occlusive ingredient at the top of the ingredient list like petroleum. Those any of those beneficial emollient oils and humectants such as hyaluronic acid have a chance to absorb within the skin? Also do emollient oils absorb into the skin layers, or just sit on top of your skin?

[Product question] Has anyone tried bleaching their skin with facial hair bleach?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
My friend (actually my friend, lol, not me) has darker skin and wanted to bleach her faint mustache. When she did, she had a patch of lighter skin where she bleached it.I have some skin discoloration in some areas. Would that bleach help? I figure if it's safe enough for the face it's safe for your skin.

[Acne] I keep breaking out and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I never started to break out until about 2 or 3 years ago (I'm 24 now). I have no idea what's causing it. It's only one or two pimples at a time but literally as soon as they go away I get one or two new ones and it's driving me crazy.I cleanse and moisturize my face with CeraVe products every night and morning, and I've changed foundations at least 5 or 6 times at this point. I've upped my water intake considerably and that's not helping either.Any suggestions?

[skin concerns] My face is producing TONS of oil after stopping hormonal birth control
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I stopped taking hormonal birth control last December because it was giving me some mood swings. I was on it off & on for 6 years. Within a month, I started having a very oily face. This has never happened before when I stopped BC. Every morning my T-zone, eyelids and chin are saturated. Every few hours throughout the day I have to blot my face because I've produced so much oil, although completely washing it is the only way to thoroughly get it all off. Basically I could have had a starring role in There Will Be Blood.I'm in my early 20s & there haven't been any changes in my diet or stress, so it must be the BC. Prior to this I had combo skin. It's so bad I've decided to get back on the BC - I began taking it a week ago but no changes yet.My AM & PM routine is neutrogena ultra gentle cleanser, micellar water, spot treat 10% BP & cetaphil facial moisturizer. I've started changing my pillow case every 2 days. I'm having more breakouts than usual.Has anyone else experienced this before? Should I be doing something different in my routine to combat it? I'm at my wit's end with my face!

[Skin Concerns] Fingers crack and bleed.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Looking for some help with this before I just resort to using super glue to keep my fingers together. My fingers will crack and bleed. I try different lotions but they don't feel that effective. My wife got me some stuff recently that's makes the skin feel better, yet it still cracks and bleeds unexpectedly. Which is pictured in the album below.https://imgur.com/a/hNvYLIt makes me really grossed out to touch doorknobs since I have cuts on my hands. Wearing a bunch of bandaids messes with touch devices. My mom gets the same symptoms and hasn't ever gotten anything that helps much. She eventually just gave up and super glued the cuts together. They blamed hers on harsh chemicals because she does dyes hair for a living, regardless that she wears gloves. I work with computer hardware, so my hands aren't going through that tough of an environment.I will add some photos I took this morning. On mobile so I may have to make a few edits to get the links correct.

[Misc] Derm recommendations in Boston area?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
If you check my history you'll see I had my very first dermatologist appt today for oil overproduction, some mild acne and PIE. Needless to say I was very unimpressed with my visit. Even with a very glossy layer of oil on my face and complaints about my sebum getting into my eyes, my derm just talked about how "This will be better for your skin in the long run," and "Some people with seb derm have to be on pills, at least you're not like that," as though these things diminish my complaints.Has anyone in Boston met with more understanding dermatologists who would be willing to work with me on helping to combat some of these issues? I appreciate the help. Thanks SCA!

[Sun Care] How bad is Cetearyl Alcohol in sunscreen?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I just purchased a sunscreen from the Danish brand "Matas", and afterwards I realised it contains Cetearyl Alcohol. It's relatively far down on the ingredients list though. Is this objectively bad, or does it depend on the skintype? So far I've gotten no bad experience but I've only used it 3 times so far, guess I'm scared to proceed with it. I had a moisturizer which contained the same alcohol but I immediately blushed up after using it so I had to throw it out.Is there a difference in having alcohol in sunscreen vs moisturizer in terms of reaction on skin? And why is alcohol so often seen in sunscreens vs moisturizers? And last question, any good sunscreens for Europeans without alcohol, most recommended here is American and or worldwide, and I hate to use half of the price on shipping.

[Sun Care] Hi! Question re: Mineral Sunscreen's Change in Texture
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi SCA! Longtime lurker, first time poster. I have been using the Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid sunscreen from La Roche Posay for a few months. My current tube says it expires in 8/2018. It's also from prior to the reformulation of this product - the actives in it are Titanium Dioxide 6%, Zinc Oxide 5% as opposed to the current formula's actives of Titanium Dioxide 11%.I've had my tube for less than 5 months (I rotate a few different sunscreens) and noticed a drastic change in texture after not using it for a few weeks. It was once very fluid and smooth feeling; now it feels like liquid sand because it seems like a ton of small hard granules have formed in the liquid. When I put it on my skin it feels like I am rubbing liquid sandpaper on my skin. The granules don't seem to melt into my skin; they just sort of flake away (I can see them remaining on the surface of my skin after the liquid portion has been absorbed).Has this happened to anyone before? Does this mean that my entire bottle of sunscreen is compromise? I vaguely recall reading that the formation of these granules means that some of the actives have crystallized and the sunscreen is no longer effective because of this.Thank you so much for reading, and I'd very much appreciate you sharing your knowledge/experiences with me!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
https://imgur.com/gallery/FpNquI am a 22 years old French man and I have been struggling with acne since 2008. I did 2 isotretinoin treatment, it reduced my acne but sadly damaged my skin (as you can see with the scars). My skin is oily especially on the forehead. It is also a very very thin skin. My current routine is composed of every La Roche Posay Effaclar range of products. I am posting here because I think my skin lacks a certain product that it needs in order to stay and looks healthy, and that the La Roche Posay doesn't bring. I hope you guys have an idea ! It would be really really amazing ! If you want any additional informations or photos or even videos just ask.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have been using vitamin C serums for many years to battle acne and scarring (male) and I'm looking to purchase a bottle but how do we really know that the product's for sale actually contain the gazillion ingredients that they list? One particular product I'm looking at includes astaxanthin, retinols, q10, etc. How the hell would I know if they're just bullshitting me? What products are actually tested?

[skin concerns] Post-accutane skin help/routine help
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I went through the accutane process about a year and a half ago and I'm still having problems with slight breakouts(Maybe three or four problem pimples) and loads of hyperpigmentation and slight scarring. I have very very light skin which shows everything. I'm not sure how to combat the breakouts and pigmentation and I haven't found a routine yet. I'm also considering shark sauce by holy snails? Help would be appreciated.

Hormonal Acne On One Side of Face [ACNE]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Details: 28 y.o. female. IUD.Skin Care Routine:Morning: Wash with warm water, Pixie Glow Toner, Cerave MoisturizerAfter Workout: Wash with waterEvening: Cerave face wash, Stridex pad (Red), Cerave MoisturizerI've been doing the Stridex for less than a month and the toner since December. Everything else for much longer. I also recently started switching out my pillowcase every 3-4 days, but it is too early to say if that'll make a difference. For a long time, I've been struggling with acne. Seems a period of time where it wasn't as much of a problem, but since my third and last child was born my skin hates me.The left side of my face is in some kind of constant state of a breakout. Gets worse around my period and it never fully clears up before my next period (every 24-25 days). Is there any extra steps I can take to prevent/cut back on the acne in the week before my period? Maybe time to see a derm and go on a medication? I am really tired of looking like a teenager when I haven't been one for ten years.

[Product Question] It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream. Experiences/opinions?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Info on productGot a sample of this at Sephora after one of the employees recommended it highly. I was looking for an extremely hydrating moisturizer that's good for sensitive skin and works well under makeup. Put it on this morning and my skin feels great. Super soft and hydrated and not stingy at all (a lot of face products burn my skin). Is there anything in the ingredients that I should be worried about? If anyone has used it, I'd love to hear your thoughts! I want to be careful with this purchase seeing how expensive it is.
