Beauty Tips For Body Care
Disclaimer: This is not to offend any product or person who is aligned to or comfortable with those words. You do you. Each to its own. This is just my experience. Long post ahead.Let's start by talking about my skin. Acne throughout puberty. Oily af. Tried dermatologists. Basic salicylic acid creams and gel face washes and what not. Tried chemical peeling during college. Worked ohk. Gave me hyperpigmentation around my lips which took few years to go. Tried natural remedies as it's common from where I come from. Practically had no skincare routine and didn't know you should have one. Basically a young adult trying to figure out anything and everything that worked. The vast world of Internet and information tricked me into those natural is good, clean is in philosophy. And so started my journey of searching for sustainable, clean, organic products that worked. I am a person who will research every ingredient. I am from the chemical field background and to look back and think why did I buy into this makes me so mad. So because anything and everything broke me out, I thought it's the 'toxic' ingredients. Those products I bought broke my wallet but I still wanted to try it. Nothing changed. It might be my fault I know but trust me I tried every fancy product out there including those pricier hair products. One day I got fed up because that lifestyle is not for everyone who doesn't have spare money to buy products worth hundreds and that means lots of people like me. I say lifestyle because it certainly felt like it. Pressure of finding something clean and natural and also what works was horrible. I stressed so much. One day somehow I found some YouTube videos and my world changed. Thank God for YouTube algorithm. I started using basic drugstore products and ingredients that work. My general physician helped me so much I can't even describe. I now have a skincare routine that works(no acne yay me), didn't break my wallet (thank God) and also makes me feel good about myself without all the pressure. Now let's talk what I learned in this process. There is no definition of the words natural, clean or organic that is same for all the companies. The reason I say this is you might find regular definitions, but what it means for various companies is not defined. No regulations. Most of the brands had an agenda of putting the tag of clean and selling it because it was in and no research or effort whatsoever by them. I get the cruelty free thing and sustainable packaging but the products itself need a lot of research and trials before they can actually work. I am not against environment but a product should at least do what it is meant to do. Most of them were filled with fragrance and essential oils which have no regulations or research as skincare ingredients which are demonized like silicones. I damaged my skin barrier with tea tree oil with grapeseed oil. There should be regulation on blog posts too who post about their experiences. I know it sounds crazy but how many teenagers go through it and practice those DIYs without proper knowledge. You don't know the blogger has really truthful or not. I know as a viewer I should have been more aware. I found quiet a few of them who turned out to be fake. This needs to be said often and louder 'THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS NATURAL ORGANIC CLEAN'. EVERYTHING IS MADE UP OF CHEMICALS.Some takeaways from my experience would be: 1. Silicones are not bad. You need them to lock the moisture in. 2. Mineral oil / petroleum jelly is not going to kill you. 3. No fragrance is good even if natural if you can't tolerate it. This goes for essential oils. There are meant to be smelled not put on your damn face. 4. Those natural organic clean products can be very drying sometimes for sensitive skin. 5. Do not buy into this craze like I did. 6. If something works for you, do it. Don't feel the pressure by anyone you have a obligation to use those products and you are not a bad person for using them. 7. Follow what your doctor says. Not the internet Doctor, the real one.I hope this helps someone and it feels so good to get it out of my chest. I feel a stone lifted off my chest. So glad to have this community to share it with. ♥️

[PSA] The Ordinary’s Natural Moisturizing Factors contains six ingredients that feed fungal acne
Beauty Tips For Body Care
After reading about fungal acne (Malassezia) and what contributes to it, I went through my simple routine to find which of my products was contributing to the white bumps on my forehead. I was devastated to find out my beloved moisturizer from The Ordinary contained: Linoleic Acid, Oleic Acid, Palmitic Acid, Polysorbate, Stearic acid, and Triolein. All of these have been recognized as fatty acids and esters (Polysorbate and Triolein) that agitate Malassezia.Thought I’d let you guys know, too, in case you struggle with this!Edit: grammar error fix

[Misc] New Year's Resolutions: February Check-in & Habits
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Last month*, we made our New Year's Resolutions and tried to make them SMART: Specific, Measureable, Actionable, Realistic and Timely. And it’s easy to think that determination and self-discipline will be enough to attain that goal, especially when you’re just setting it. “This time it’ll be different”, we tell ourselves at the start of January. “I won’t flake like I did before. I’ll be resolute. I’m really convinced of how important it is now. Not like before.”We are now at the end of February and I’m sure you’ve noticed it’s not that simple. When we think “it’s different this time, I’m taking this seriously now”, we forget that we took our resolution seriously last time as well! We really wanted to succeed then. And yet, we didn’t. So, how did that happen?Having a goal is not enough. Because life gets in the way.We can’t remember our goals every minute of every hour, and even if we do - that’s not enough. During the time picked my skin, simply remembering that I had made the resolution to stop picking would never be enough to get me to step away from the mirror. Because there were other, stronger factors at play. The stress that had been building in my life for days. The behavioural routine I had gotten into: dealing with that stress by picking my skin. Consciously and rationally, I didn't want to pick. But emotionally, I needed a release really badly. And we’re not Spock - our emotional needs and impulses get the better of us all the time. It’s not easy to build a new habit. When you’re used to taking a specific route to get to work, it’s going to take a lot of practice to change that. You’ll mess up sometimes and go the old way, when you’re distracted, in a rush, or busy. That’s normal! Because when we’re on autopilot, we’ll do the behaviour that’s most ingrained in us, that’s most habitual. The way to make sure the new route to the grocery store becomes our new default, and that our new healthy habit becomes more ingrained, is by practising. Letting ourselves fail. And simply continuing. Focusing not so much on the goal, but on the process that gets us there. So this month, let's focus on the habits you could develop to support you in attaining your goal. How to participate in this threadLet us know what your New Year's Resolution was and how it's going so far. If you didn't participate in the first thread, that's totally okay! Come join in :)Brainstorm ideas for a good habit that could support you. Remember: a habit is not a goal! It's a behaviour.Respond to other comments to celebrate people's successes, commiserate over their failures, or suggest a habit that could support their resolution.Share random moments of joy? Those always make me happy!*I'm aware it's almost March... I should've made a January check-in thread, sorry!

[misc] PSA: It's not the end of the world if you don't have sunscreen on every waking second and it's ridiculous to avoid the sun like the plague. Wrinkles are fine too.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Sunscreen is important, no one is saying it isn't. So don't come at me for that. But over the years I've seen the idea of "sunscreen is important" morphing into "you must have a one inch layer of sunscreen at every waking moment and reapply every hour or you'll turn into a wrinkly ballsack and no one will love you". I exaggerate, but not by much.I've seen people both on this sub and off freaking out because they didn't wear sunscreen for the 5 minutes it took them in the morning to let their dog out to poop. I've seen people avoiding the sun like the plague to the point it affects their daily activities. Staying out of the sun during the hottest parts of the day? Common sense. Refusing to be outside in sunlight for any amount of time, even when the uv index is low? Insanity. You won't turn into a wrinkly prune because you decided to have some fun at the beach with your friends, and you shouldn't limit the activities in life that make you happy out of fear of looking a little older. Wear sunscreen, and go to the beach when the sun isn't blinding and the uv index isn't extreme. A little bit of sun isn't going to kill you, and is especially important in colder months to ward off SAD.I'm just so frustrated, and this mentality of "you must look no older than 30 years old forever and even a single wrinkle means you become unattractive" is getting so old, and it affects young girls the most.I've seen my teenage sister's friends worrying about whether sun exposure during PE (they already wear sunscreen) will damage their skin. Teen girls on insta telling other teen girls to not go swimming at a daytime pool party because it might give them freckles. Panicking and freaking out because they forgot sunscreen for a couple of days. It's also turning the desire for bright, clear skin into a competition for who can look the youngest and just....ughIt's just so disheartening. Sun damage is a thing, sunscreen for skin cancer prevention is necessary, but when did sun protection turn into a paranoia that keeps people from enjoying their lives to the fullest? What's the point of being smooth and young looking at 60 if you spent your youth locked away in a windowless room?

For those with extremely sensitive skin remember if it’s good enough for a baby’s skin it’s good enough for you! [personal]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
If you have baby siblings, a baby yourself or a baby in your immediate family you’ll probably have things like.Baby wash, baby lotion, zinc cream, corn starch baby powder, and baby oil. These are all fantastic products for you delicate face as well, not as elegant perhaps or pretty or fun but they are delicate on your skin. We all should be “babying “ our skin anyways.Mineral oil or “baby oil”: is an extremely effective and gentle and cheap makeup remover.Baby wash/shampoo: Excellent gentle non stripping cleanser does what a cleanser is supposed to do well remaining extremely gentle I’ve used it around my eyes with zero problems and it’s sooo cheap.Diaper cream or nappy cream: most are comprised of just zinc and petroleum for occlusive benefits and are made to soothe inflamed and so but rash. So it also in turn can make a wonderful cheap face mask or a spot treatment as zinc is a safe and gentle anti inflammatory for many minor skin ailments.Corn starch baby powder: Great cheap way to freshen up the nether regions or to sprinkle in greasy hair in a fix. Also great for chaffing and under boob/ flab sweat!Baby lotion: Baby lotion is just extremely light and gentle and is not likely to irritate sensitive skin.Baby sunscreens are also wonderful not as elegant but made for sensitive baby skin so they are often simple and scent free.I like to save money and spend it on treatments for my skin rather then expensive cleansers make up removers. So if your trying to limit your spending and have an infant your close to and have these things on hand try em out!

[Personal] Save your money for the facials and peels
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Ive tried all serums and cremes and after years my advice is to put your money toward quality facials and peels instead (also collagen peptides). If your like me- I have sensitive fair skin- trial and error with products can be a huge negative on your skin and wallet. I now do monthly facials(that include light peels and microdermabrasion) and no serum has ever come close. I do still use retinol and a good moisturizer and eye cream- but all the vitamin c/e and serum stuff never came close to the impact of a good facial. I wasted a lot of money on drunk elephant lol.

[Misc] What are the best skincare tips you have ever learned?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
My tips are that 2.5% and 10% benzoyl peroxide have been proven to work as effective as higher concentrations like 15%. Using a lower concentration will reduce the chance for dryness and irritation. Also, Azelaic Acid is superb for hyper-pigmentation and reducing unwanted redness. Surprised there aren't more azelaic acid products available. The azelaic acid products I use are The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% (can be use as a primer for little problem spots too, drys to a matte base.. I don't recommend using this as a primer for your whole face though, you don't need much as it pills up -so use a light layer). I also use Paula's Choice 10% Azelaic Acid Booster, which has 0.5% salicylic acid in it as well. I prefer The Ordinary Azelaic Acid though, cheaper too!

[Skin Concerns] Ridding the world of stretch marks: apparently it's going to happen sooner than we all think
Beauty Tips For Body Care
This should interest a lot of people, since it's about stretch marks and scars. Here's some context:Elastagen is a clinical stage medical company with an advanced pipeline of products based on the human protein tropoelastin, a pioneering medical biomaterial. Elastin is a critical component of tissues in the human body which require the ability to stretch and recoil, such as the skin, lungs, arteries, elastic ligaments. The clinical trial company has developed a synthetic version of the elastin protein which is identical to that naturally present in the human body.Elastagen was bought by Allergan for 150 million dollars in 2018, here are several audio interviews with robert daniels (ceo) and tony weiss (the guy who's been working on tropoelastin for 20 years), and according to them, their product is very powerful, and virtually solves problems like stretch marks (as long as they're not larger than 0.5 mm) and acne scar.Essentially, in the case of stretch marks, the synthetic skin fills in the lesion (since it's atrophic) and replaces the skin that should have been there in the first place. They mention an average improvement of 90% based on the 40 people who they tested their product on.I'll link you guys two of those interviews, I suppose it should help, and I'll also add a bunch of links which should be interesting as well concerning elastagenhttps://omny.fm/shows/money-news-with-ross-greenwood/ross-greenwood-speaks-with-medical-company-elastaghttps://soundcloud.com/user-505804043/synthetic-skin-changing-lives-around-the-worldhttps://www.afr.com/companies/healthcare-and-fitness/university-of-sydney-spinoff-elastagen-sold-for-120m-to-botox-maker-20180208-h0vrkfhttps://www.linkedin.com/pulse/allergan-acquire-elastagen-access-next-generation-injectable-weiss/https://www.businessinsider.com.au/botox-maker-allergan-buys-elastagen-2018-2https://www.medicalresearch.nsw.gov.au/human-skin-replacement-that-got-experts-buzzing/Also this link (go to page 18 of the document), which explains that their tropoelastin prodcut basically reproduces everything the skin does (sweat, hair etc...)https://go8.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Allies-In-Excellence.pdfAnd a simple video about their product:https://youtu.be/0dgd7gv2fkkWhen one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world, which created Botox, acquire a clinical trial company for 150 million dollars, it's big.TLDR: looks like we finally have a solution for stretch marks and acne scars, which, although it won't 100% remove them, is really close, and should make them extremely hard to notice at all anymore (so it virtually removes the problem, again).

[Skin Concerns] Specific advice for PCOS related skin
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey all! I figured this might be best in its own thread because it might be pretty long. As the title says, I have PCOS and my skin is suffering. Thankfully I rarely deal with cystic acne, but everything else is almost worse.Skin concerns: I have huge pores on my forehead, right between my brows, and on my cheeks next to my nose. I’m pretty sure this is due to excess oil trapped in the pore, making it look big. I also have a lot of redness specifically in my cheeks, and my skin just does not look clear. It’s hard to describe and my camera isn’t good enough to catch a picture of what I mean, but my skin tends to look splotchy almost?Routine: I have incredibly sensitive skin (and really bad water bc my city chlorinates the hell out of it) so I only use Cetaphil gentle cleanser in the evening to get rid of the daily gunk on my face. I moisturize and use sunscreen daily, with Neutrogena HydroboostWhat I’d like advice on: I need an exfoliator that will help me clear out my pores but won’t be too tough on my face. I have also heard that dermatologists will sometimes say chemical exfoliants are bad for people with PCOS? So I feel like that might be worth mentioning. If you had to recommend a good, minimal routine, what would it be?Thanks in advance!!

My skin type is oily and I think extremely dry the usual, I get hormonal cystic acne for atleast a week a month and although only a few pimples emerge in the same spots. They all leave a nasty pink to purple scar that takes years to heal!! So I’ve tried pretty well every routine known to man kind and one day I said.Fudge all this shit.I then started from the bare basics of what I had grown up using and picked out the most boring bland products and donated the rest that were close to expiry. The stand out thing that changed my skin the most was dove unscented soap, yeah dove flipping SOAP. My asshole of a face loves the stuff. I’ve tried multiple cleansers from different gentle bland brands like Cerave and Cetaphil and Spectro and Vanicream. Although absolutely nothing cleanses quite like the dove beauty bar...I’m not okay about it even though I’ve been using it for 3 months and my skin looks remarkably better. I was using the Cerave hydrating cleanser before switching it up. I know the consensus around here is that bar soap = No, but it was so cheap and almost nostalgic I said why not!I just had to share because it’s been a game changer for me and if your at your wits end it’s hella cheap and worth a shot.Current routine.Am: Cleanse with dove bar soap (unscented) Pixi glow tonic Neutrogena hydro boost spf 15 Aveeno baby mineral sunscreen spf 50Pm: Makeup wipe (got em for Christmas so I’m using em up to not be wasteful) Currently using the Neutrogena micellar water makeup wipes. Dove sensitive skin unscented beauty bar to cleanse Pat the skin semi dry then apply cetaphil moisturizing cream Spot treat with BP 5% from clean and clear. Will sloooooowwllly be reintroducing Benzaclin and tret 0.05 then 0.1 verrry slowwwly as to not destroy my moisture barrier again. Also the only reason I’m using two sunscreens in the AM is because I was a dumb ass and I accidentally bought spf 15 instead of 30 in the hydro boost but it’s a nice moisturizer. I just recently purchased the baby Aveeno as it’s great for my skin and a lot gentler.

[Routine Help] how does a guy carry around a few skincare essentials without a bag?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm a guy in his late 20s, have a new tattoo I need to baby, this means moisturizer and high spf sunscreen, I like to carry around lip balm as well. I have a small sling bag that can fit these things and I wear that when I can but it's not appropriate for all occasions. I am not always going to be near my bag or traveling directly from my house or with my car. How can I fit these things in my pockets in as low a profile as possible? Can anyone recommend portable carrying solutions? I mean the obvious is to fill these into small containers but I'd like recs on what containers to use specifically. I want as small as possible, like enough to hold just a day's worth, without the chance of the container leaking or being ruptured in my pocket. should hold up to being jangled in the same pocket as my car keys.

[Misc] My best skin was when I was a camp counselor/lifeguard
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have combo/dry skin and long for a smooth, glowy complexion. Although my skin isn’t’ currently where I’d love it to be, I just remembered a time in my life when I did have that flawless and glass-skin look that I’m trying to achieve now.A few summers back, I worked as a camp counselor and life guard and spent so much time in the sun (with continual sunscreen application of course). Now that I think about it, my skin always looked best during times of my life when I had lots of sun exposure. My skin looked fresh and glowy with almost zero texture. My routine then was simple. Face wash, moisturizer, sunscreen (daytime). When I attempt the same routine now, my skin easily gets dull, dry, and my forehead cc’s get wild (I use ahas/bhas to combat it).So my question is, what was the difference? Is sun exposure a strong form of exfoliation? Was it the chlorine in the water? Idk if this is a stupid question, but I’m supposed to start tret soon and am dreaming of what my skin can be lol (ps, I currently avoid the sun when I can and use plenty of sunscreen).

[Personal] Anti-anxiety medication cleared up my hormonal acne in a month.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Before this gets downvoted to the depths of Reddit hell, this post is NOT meant to get anyone rushing to the doctor to ask for anti-anxiety medication in the hopes of clearing up their acne. My goal is just to point out that acne and other chronic skin problems are often symptoms of underlying problems like stress, anxiety, food allergies, or illness, which can't just be fixed with the right moisturizer. So, 30F here. Since childhood I've had a moderate-to-severe anxiety disorder, which went undiagnosed until I was in my late 20s. I've also had hormonal cystic acne centred around my mouth and chin since I was 12, which was constant and always got worse around my period. This wonderful subreddit helped a lot with healing my breakouts and preventing scarring (hydrocolloid patches are a lifesaver!) but the breakouts never slowed down. Then, two years ago, I reluctantly started taking medication to treat my anxiety. My doctor put me on sertraline (a.k.a. Zoloft), starting at 25 mg/day and eventually tapering up to 150 mg/day. Within a couple of weeks, not only did I start to notice an improvement in my mood and my ability to handle stressful situations, but within a month my skin stopped breaking out.Stopped. Just like that.At first I thought it was a coincidence, but nothing else in my routine had changed, and the acne never came back. It's now been two years. My skin is far from perfect and I still get two or three pimples a month (again, usually around my period or when I'm under major stress) but the severity of my breakouts is not even a tenth of what it used to be. Now my main concerns are shrinking my pores and treating the scarring my acne left behind.I reported the acne improvement to my doctor and she thinks that my chronic anxiety threw my hormones into chaos, and that the hormones came back into balance when the medication stabilized my anxiety. That makes sense to me because my wildly irregular period also fell into a regular monthly schedule when I started the sertraline. (Birth control pills can also help acne by stabilizing hormones, but I never noticed an improvement in my skin when I took them and they really fucked up my mood. But that's a whole 'nother post.)Bodies are complex. Topical treatments like serums and moisturizers can be miracle-workers, but sometimes stubborn skin problems can be a sign that something else is going wrong on the inside. Listen to your body, and don't be scared to talk to a doctor or a therapist if you're having a hard time like I was. My only regret is that it took me until age 28 to ask for help.I also want to add that there are many ways to treat anxiety besides medication, but this is just what worked for me.Love and hugs to all of you in your skincare journeys. I love this subreddit, and I hope this post helps someone out there.

[Sun Care] What do you guys think of this sunscreen experiment?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
To summarize, someone in China experimented with 18 different sunscreens in 34C degrees. He sat outside under the sun for 3 hours, and this was the outcome of each sunscreen. Although I find it interesting and intriguing, I can't seem to understand why some of the tanning resulted in different colors? like blue and green parts of his skin in contrast to brown and red? What do you guys think of this experiment?https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/bt8q1t/discussion_sunscreen_experiment_1pm_4pm_exposure/

[Routine help] Vitamin C with tret
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi, I have mild acne. My current routine is:Am:-Cleanse-Vitamin C LAA serum-Moisturize-SunscreenPm:-Cleanse-Tretinoin-MoisturizeI have been on this routine for a couple of weeks now, however I feel very overwhelmed by the amount of steps I have to do (I know this is an insanely simple routine in comparison to other people, however I am very OCD and ADHD and that many steps is hard for me).My question is do I really need to use the Vitamin C serum? Or does it have a negligible effect while on tret anyway. I’d much rather wake up wash my face with water and add sunsceeen and be done with my morning routine.Sorry for rambling, thanks.

[Misc] What’s your “non-product” thing you swear by?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Heyyo. I usually just lurk, but I’m really curious: what’s your thing that isn’t a (skincare) product that you swear by for helping your skin? Either a different item entirely or a process or whatever.A quick YouTube search will usually give lots of videos like “3726 TIPS FOR YOUR SKIN/THINGS YOU’RE DOING WRONG/WAYS YOU’LL MELT YOUR FACE AND DISAPPOINT YOUR FAMILY!” but I want to know what y’all think. :3Here are some of the things I swear by now:-a bajillion facecloths: Hey, they can’t get too dirty if they’re only used once, right? (Provided they’re cleaned and stored properly, obvs).-no more morning cleanse: I thought everyone recommending this was full of it. Wound up missing my am or pm cleanse like every day for a week (it was a really rough week, ok?) and it felt better. Now that I’ve stuck with it deliberately, my face has really improved.-Pillowcases: We’ve all heard to swap out pillow cases every few days. I applied the same principal I did to my facecloths and just got enough to have clean ones every day, lol.-retinol OVER moisturizer: I said no products, but this could apply to any actives you love, but just need a little buffer to use consistently. (I’m just not ready to handle retinol in its full glory.)That’s all I can think of right now. What are your tricks?

[Hair Removal] Men who shave their face daily/ or every other day, how do you incorporate it in your daily routine?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've sorta recently been getting heavily into skin care and becoming strict about it with myself. I've looked online and can't find a definite answer anywhere but I typically shave every other day in the morning. I've been trying to find out what step in my routine I can add shaving. If it should be after cleansing, or after moisturizing, can I use a toner along side it?

[Personal] My skin has been looking amazing lately
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Just wanted to share some of the good news and tell you what products did it.I’ve had some success with glowy skin using Timeless Vitamin C, but the thing that really did it was:Acne.org Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment + Adapalene 0.3% + Etude House SoonJung Cica BalmI’ve been using Adapalene 0.3% for a couple of months now, but it was the addition of the two that really helped.I apply the Adapalene at night, wait 30 minutes and then apply the Cica Balm. I’m the morning I apply the Benzoyl Peroxide. Then I apply Etude House SoonJung 2x Intensive Barrier Cream (and occasionally the Hada Labo Premium Hyaluronic Acid Lotion underneath).I don’t think it’s important but my cleanser is Zapzyt Salicylic Acid (remember to wash for 30-60 seconds 2x a day).I’m surprised by the amount of flaking I’ve had in the first week, but it seems to be calming down (which might take away my glow but I’ll enjoy it for now). I might throw in a 15% salicylic acid peel every once in awhile, but I’m going to be more cautious about it than I used to since my skin is pretty sensitive from all of the actives I’ve used.Anyway, I recommend the Adapalene + benzoyl peroxide + Cica Balm combo. It makes a lot of sense. If the four hypothesized ways that acne develops is 1) P. acnes 2) Hyperkeratinization 3) inflammation 4) excessive sebum productionBP takes care of 1, Adapalene takes care of 2 and 4 (and a little bit 3), 2x washing helps 4 and moisturizing helps 3 (and arguably 4), Cica Balm takes care of 3

[Personal] Spearmint tea has been a life saver for my hormonal acne!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Some background:I have been on hormonal BC for almost 11 years straight, aside from a few years ago when I went off for barely a month and couldn't deal with the acne that popped up IMMEDIATELY after stopping.Today I am one month off, and only had a few pimples crop up right at the beginning. I have been drinking about 20 oz of Traditional Medicinals Spearmint Tea everyday, because it's proven to lower androgen production. My skin was SO oily previously, and it has really helped calm it down! I haven't changed anything else in my routine. My full routine, product wise:Morning- Splash with water, skin & co truffle therapy toner, missha bb cream with spf 30.Evening- Banila Co Clean it zero balm, then double cleanse with Pixi Glow gel cleanser. I use a combo of the Hanhoo Watermelon Overnight serum and The Ordinary's Niacinamide+Zinc serum, and once a week I usually do a mask for exfoliation. My skin is almost BETTER than it was previously and I know a lot of folks suffer with hormonal acne and this could really help someone! Give it a try!

[skin concern] How to treat sudden dry, flaky skin? I’m getting desperate!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I’ve been following this sub for a while and hoping to get some advice that can also help others. I’ve checked previous post and not seeing much for my situation.I’m getting married in six months, and this past fall I decided I wanted to up my skincare routine to look my best on my wedding day. I had pretty normal skin with a bit of texture so was just looking to have smoother, glowing skin. I started using the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Cleansing Gel and got a mini pack of the DDG Alpha Beta Peel Pads, and great immediate results were phenomenal. I continued using the cleanser daily, but held back on the pads as they are expensive. I decided to get a full box of the pads with some money from Christmas.I used the pads daily for about two weeks and started noticing my face getting dry. I cut back to every other day, but it started to get more dry and flaky, and have stopped using them all together for about a month now, but I’m still dealing with very flaky skin on my cheeks and chin, along with now more texture in the dry spots. I’ve changed up my routine to try and replenish some moisture, and have been doing this for the last month to no avail. Some questions that I’m hoping to maybe get some direction on: Did I severely damage my moisture barrier with the peel pads? Is there a gentle way to exfoliate my flaky skin? Is there anything in my current routine that I should change to get better results? I’m the first to admit I’m pretty impatient when it comes to this, but I want to try and make some positive changes if I can!Current routine (for the past 3-4 weeks)Morning:-cleanse with CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser-CeraVe Skin Renewing Vitamin C Serum-Neutrogena Hydroboost Water GelNight:-cleanse with CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser-Thayer’s Witch Hazel toner-CeraVe Moisturizing Cream (from tub)-if I’m extra flaky, Biossance Squalene + Tea Tree Balancing OilThanks for any advice anyone has!Edit: I should mention I’m in a cold winter climate right now, although I’ve never experienced this level of dryness any other previous winter.

[misc] sometimes leaving your skin alone is the best skin care
Beauty Tips For Body Care
As the title says, sometimes skin care is about leaving your skin alone.I love trying and using products, but sometimes the problems might arise from using a lot of stuff. Example: I have been struggling with dry skin this winter, I tried a lot of hydrating stuff and everything and in the end what worked best was just washing my face with water in the morning and applying moisturizer. This is obviously just an anecdote, but I just wanted to say that having and using tons of products is not what you always need. Sometimes the skin just needs to do its own thing :)

[Personal] Mean things people say about acne
Beauty Tips For Body Care
So my daughters classmate asked her why is your mom's face so dirty? This is a 2nd grader. She said it was about 2 months ago and this was probably when my acne was more worse than usual. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this. Sometimes the acne is better, sometimes it is worse but it has been a constant for me since 17. I have tried everything except accutane and the possible side effects are really scary. I just wish society wasn't so superficial that acne sufferers felt compelled to take a cancer drug...Hope they can research a safer drug for acne soon....

[research] Hyaluronic Acid, is it worth the hype? Or overrated?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hyaluronic Acid is a popular ingredient mentioned in this sub, so I did some research.BASIC INFO: Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant (a substance that maintains moisture). It has the capability of drawing together over one thousand times its weight in water. HA can be found in many areas of our body (skin, eyes and synovial fluid in the joints). When we get older and start to age, the production of many substances like hyaluronic acid, elastin and collagen slows down. Therefore, we lose volume, plumpness and our skin becomes dehydrated.HA IN SKINCARE: Many skincare products have HA. It’s is made through biofermentation, a process done by bacteria in a lab. These products claim to hydrate your skin. But it really depends on the type of HA used in the product. HA tends to vary in molecular size. Small HA molecules, doesn’t bind as much water as larger HA molecules making it penetrate deeper. Large HA molecules are way better at binding water and providing hydration but can’t penetrate into the skin. The molecules rest on top of your skin, only providing moisture at the top of your skin. For as much surface hydration, try looking at products that have a mix of different sized HA molecules. Our skin only needs 1-2% of HA. Anything more can actually further dry the skin. Avoid products that claim high percentages of HA.HA IN FILLERS: Dermal fillers can also contain HA in a gel form. They increase volume through physically filling the place where they are injected. They also draw water, emphasizing the filled in effect. They address many cosmetic concerns like lifting the cheeks, softening folds and crease, under eye problems, enchanting lips and HA fillers can be used to address a multitude of cosmetic concerns, including lifting the cheeks, softening deeper folds and creases around the mouth and chin, improving the look of sunken, dark, undereye circles, hydrating and reviving hands and earlobes.IS IT WORTH THE HYPE: Are topical (creams, foams, gels, lotions, and ointments) HA effective? It will never be as effective as HA in an injectable form for replacing non existing volume. Many topical HAs are marked as topical “fillers” to mislead consumers. Regardless, topical HA is very good at moisturizing. But, if your goal is to improve volume loss and looseness of the skin due to aging injectable HA is better than topical HA.OVERVIEW: If you have dry skin or want more hydration for your skin, products with HA are a good option. But, topical HA will not provide the best hydration deep in the skin. Only on a surface level.Sources:1) https://www.allure.com/story/what-is-hyaluronic-acid-skin-care2) https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/the-hype-on-hyaluronic-acid-20200123186533) https://www.byrdie.com/hyaluronic-acid-serum

Please, Please Be Careful Ordering Products from Amazon. Huge Health Issues in Our Home for Humans and Cats in the Past Two Years [PSA]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have ordered products from Amazon pretty much since the inception of Prime with no issues. In the past two years, we have had two major health issues in our home due to Amazon products. There are so many fakes now and products stored at unsafe temperatures. The first major issues involved my cats. I bought food that they had both been eating for years with no issue (previously bought from Petco). Within weeks of ordering a bag from Amazon, they both developed a major bacterial infections on their heads and face.My old guy never fully recovered, although my kitten did, and he had autoimmune issues for his entire last year. He then passed away from lymphoma. His face and head were literally falling off. As soon as that appeared to heal, his lungs filled with cancer and fluid.I could post pictures but they are NSFW. It cost me over $7,000. I would have paid more if it had saved his life. At least we got one more year together. He was in perfect health prior to this and I thought he'd live to see 20. He died at age 11. I still am in mourning him. RIP Monkey.Edit: Here is a mild picture, view if you want, the skin fell off in chunks and this was not the worst of it - https://imgur.com/a/B3rc3Q8The first involving a human was to do with my face. I ordered a lip balm that was supposedly organic and made to help heal cold sores. After using it for two days, my entire lower upper face was swollen. My lips, my nose, and the area around my nose were so swollen it was excruciating and then I started getting hives. As soon as I stopped using the product, my face healed within 3-5 days. I probably should have went to urgent care in retrospect. I've since read similar products have been shown to contain lead. There have been a slew of other minor issues such a "tried and true" products have very off texture and labeling. One smelled like motor oil when it absolutely should not have.I now NEVER buy anything that goes on or in the body from Amazon (e.g. food, skin care, etc.). I only use them for things like books or whatever.Just please be careful. I now only order skin products directly from the vendor or Sephora.

[Misc]What the hell is up with heavily fragranced moisturizers?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I guess this could apply to all skin care products, but I'm mostly annoyed when it comes to moisturizers, since that's typically something you leave on your face all day. I recently decided to try out Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream, and the smell is unbearable. I just don't get it. Ain't nobody coming up to you and telling you your face smells nice (if this does happen, call the cops). As a sidenote, I know not all products have fragrance. But that's what bugs me. Why can't all products be fragrance free?

[Misc] Dark Eye Circles : IPL Experiences?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have some pretty dark circles under my eyes to the point that I always look sick/tired (genetic). I've had tear through injections (Juvederm Vollure) and while they looked great right after, they kinda became less effective after the swelling stopped a few days later.I am now exploring IPL - anyone have any experience with this? I feel like i'd be a good candidate - but have also read a few horror stories, so not sure what the overall risk is of this procedure. Is it worth it, and how many sessions did it take to make a difference? Was reading IPL should be done before fillers.

[Skin Concerns] Middle-aged woman with troubling skin issues wanted for mini-documentary
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello, I am a film-maker in the mid-Willamette valley (Oregon, USA), and I have a client looking for a good female candidate for their new skincare product line. They would love to fly the participant to Miami, give them a full make-over, and free skincare products after the evaluation. If interested, please reply to this post and we can make arrangements to chat via e-mail, phone, or Skype and determine whether you would be a good fit for the project. Client seems pretty confident about the efficacy of their products, or they wouldn't be paying me to document it. You WOULD need to be on-camera throughout the process, so I understand that's a deal-breaker for some. Oregon and SW Washington residents only, please, and thank you.Ashley TerryAT Films

[PSA] You may be able to purchase skincare products with your HSA (health savings account)
Beauty Tips For Body Care
If you have a health savings account through your insurance (usually paired with a high deductible insurance plan), you may be able to buy things like sunscreen, face wash, and moisturizer with your HSA account. A good resource to see the kind of things that are HSA-eligible is Hsastore.com. I have seen things like Supergoop sunscreen and some La Roche-Posay products listed on this website.I’ve been using this as a reference for what beauty products I can utilize my HSA for, although I’ve been purchasing at my usual stores instead of from the website.Additionally, I believe there is also a sister website (FSAstore.com) for FSAs as well if you need a resource for that.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I want to send a collective THANK YOU to SCA. I've combed through all sorts of old posts about slugging and finally got the courage to try it last night. For years I have tried to find a solution for the areas on my lower cheeks just above my jawline that felt like sandpaper no matter what I did. Last night I applied a thin layer of Vaseline on top of the Sensibio AR that I usually use and hoped for mild improvement.Holy cow, the sandpaper areas feel like a baby tush after just one treatment! Slug life for me from here on out.

[Routine Help] Took my first step into skincare addiction with CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser
Beauty Tips For Body Care
First off, I love how my face feels afterwards! Previously, I had been using a simple Ivory soap bar for a few years in an attempt go a more natural (and unresearched) route with my face care, but with the winter months and my (supposedly) combination skin, I had been experiencing some dryness and flaking around my mouth and nostrils. This CeraVe cleanser alleviated that immediately! However, not only has the new product improved the moisture in this area, but it has also lead to an increase in acne pustules exactly where the dryness affected me most. It's ironic, because my interest in wanting to change cleansers was inspired by acne reduction and not skin dryness. Interestingly, although there has been an increase in pustule frequency, there is less inflammation, the head size is reduced, and they heal much more quickly!I'm new to this proper skincare management, so I'm hoping for some insight on what I might try next. I've been using the CeraVe wash for about two weeks with no other products (to test the results of the change and minimize variables), and I have COSRX Good Morning Gel on standby to test its efficacy. It's worth mentioning that I am a 31 year old male, with a long history of acne (cystic as a teen, and frequent pustules as an adult). I've undergone 2 treatments of Accutane, once in my adolescence, and another around age 24. I also have a suspicion that my acne may be Malassezia related, as some flair ups are itchy and crust over.Any suggestions or advice is appreciated!

[Product question] PC azelaic acid booster
Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I just got the PC azelaic acid booster, which I'm hoping will help manage both my hormonal acne and rosacea. The tube is relatively small, the product quite expensive for the size in my opinion. How much do I use? Do I use a pea sized amount for the whole face? Several of these, like one on each cheek and one on the forehead?Did you guys ever use this? I tried little dots all over but I'm finding it spreads with a little difficulty, and it doesnt feel nearly enough to be effective on my whole face. Anybody can help?

[Routine Help] Hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and azelaic acid together
Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I read that all three work together no problem and there are conflicting opinions on the sequence based on what I’ve read. A lot have been suggesting that azelaic should go first. However, the ordinary’s website suggests niacinamide before azelaic. The problem here is that the hyaluronic acid that I have is the gokujyun lotion and apparently, that works like a toner. So I’m really not sure how to approach this.Products: Goku jyun Hadalabo lotion The Ordinary Niacinamde The Ordinary Azelaic acid suspension

Lip balm recommendations with a waxy texture? [Product Question]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I find that I really like the look and feel of waxy lip balms and am wondering if anyone has any recommendations! Most lip balms I have tried are too oily. I recently tried the Dior Lip Glow and loved the texture. If anyone knows any similar balms, I’d love to know them! Thanks xx

I [F, 25] am worried about aging and want to do everything I can to age well. Any tips? [Anti-aging]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi!I'm a 25 year old female and I am worried about aging. What else is new? I think in our current society, there is a huuuge emphasis on having beautiful skin and aging gracefully. As a woman, this really matters a lot to me, and I wanted to see if anyone had any tips?Recently, someone thought I was 28 which sort of hurt my feelings. Nothing wrong with 28-year-olds. I would just rather look my age or younger. Here is what I currently do:I take Spironolactone for hormonal acne, which really helps my acne. However, I do have pretty oily skin on my forehead and small under the skin acne. I also use Epiduo on my skin as needed. I use Epiduo pretty sparingly because it's powerful and can sting if I use too much.Every night before bed, I wash my face with Cetaphil Pro Oil Removing Foam Wash (PM). It's super gentle and makes my face feel really soft.I got a Retinol prescription a few months ago, so I have been trying to use it on my skin at night time with moisturizer. Since I started using the retinol, I feel like my skin has sort of been purging itself, which I've heard is really common when you use Retinol. I use this in the evening time. (PM).Other products I have been using:The Ordinary Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil (I mainly use it as a moisturizer if my skin is really dry, which it gets in the winter time). I like it because it is soft on my skin and doesn't sting like other moisturizers do at times. I usually use this in the PM time only butOle Henriksen C-Rush Brightening Gel Creme and the Banana Bright Eye Cream (I just got these so I only recently started using them, but excited to see what they can do!) It smells really good and is super gentle. I use both of these AM and PM.The Supergoop Sun Defying Suncreen Oil (I wear sunscreen everyday.) It smells amazing and it's super gentle! As you can tell, I really like gentle products because my skin is sensitive. I use this in the AM.A jade roller! I am trying to use this to reduce puffiness and fine lines. I try to use this in the AM and PM but sometimes only get to it in the PM.Is it okay for me to be using these products? And in what order? Also, when do you think I should start getting preventative botox? Any other tips or ideas for preventative anti-aging care? I just want to age well so I am open to any and all tips!!! THANKS SO MUCH!TLDR: I [F,25] am looking for some tips on preventative aging skin care and routine!PS if you want to see what my skin looks like, I'd be happy to send you a pic but I can't rn because it's a [selfie].

[Review] My newbie skincare routine and it's review after 5 months of use!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
(Sorry long post ahead, routine near bottom). Hello, I (Female, 23, brown skin tone) lurked on this subreddit for sometime back in 2019 as I wanted to start a 'proper' skincare routine. I read the wiki, searched through the posts for some advice and laughed at the memes. Then I started looking for some products that were suitable for my skin and available where I live. I have combination skin - dry in some places and oily in the T zone, though not excessively oily or dry for either. My previous skincare routine consisted of 'J Malki Dead Sea Natural Mud Mask Soap' (for about 5 years argh) and that was it, my skin was relatively clear but a little too dry as you can imagine (I used to enjoy that squeaky clean feel lol). Prior to that, in my teens years, I just used any cleanser that was on offer - be it Simple or Neutrogena. I'd never used a moisturiser for more than a week as any moisturiser I'd tried made my face sweat like mad and I had also never tried any skincare 'treatments'. I suffer from PIH after I get hormone related spots - I usually get about one or two a month which is not an issue for me but if I do get PIH from this it can last a while - which is annoying as I do not use or want to use concealer. I also have rough/tough slightly darker skin around the sides of my face (side burn area) which has always bothered me. I have never suffered from any form acne, fortunately. Though my skin is sensitive to makeup (eye shadows, foundations etc). The products I began using 5 months ago were the basics and a little extra. I started using 'Simple Refreshing Gel Cleanser', 'TO Hyaluronic Acid + B5' and 'TO Natural Moisturising Factors + HA'. I loved almost every one. I noticed an improvement in my skin after a week and this continued. My skin felt plumper, it looked less dry and little more healthier. The Simple Refreshing Gel Cleanser is great, it does not make my face feel dry or tight and does the job well. I do not double cleanse as I do not wear any makeup (well I do wear mascara, no issue getting this off with the cleanser).I chose the TO Hyaluronic Acid + B5 as a little extra, I used it on slightly damp skin (with moisturiser straight after) as many have suggested and it felt quite nice on the skin but it also felt a little unnecessary. I can't tell if it actually did much or if it was the moisturiser I was using. I used a whole bottle but decided not to repurchase it as I believe the TO Natural Moisturising Factors + HA is moisturising enough and I have not noticed any difference since I stopped using the Hyaluronic Acid. I'd prefer to ditch this in order to have a simpler routine and a little bit more money in the bank. I believe this product may be more suited to those with drier skin, dehydrated skin or ageing skin as I believe it does make the skin feel plumper but as I said the moisturiser I was using was enough for me.The Natural Moisturising Factors + HA is wonderful, it is the first moisturiser that absorbs well into my skin and does not make me sweat! My skin is plumper, softer and healthier looking. There is no dryness anymore and my skin is not overly oily as a result. HOWEVER, I have started getting sebaceous filaments on my nose (hardened white bits in the pores) and I think it is a result of using this as I have never had this happen before, it may have been the hyaluronic acid too. Nevertheless, I have stopped using the moisturiser on my nose and I just use it on the rest of my face (the cleanser works quite well on the sebaceous filaments if I gently massage it on my nose, for slightly longer, then wash off as usual).Overall after using the above products my skin does look a lot better and a lot healthier, but after getting the base routine down I have also incorporated two new products (I have been using these for 2 months/1 month). My first new product was the Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Gentle Exfoliating pads (started 2 months ago), I started these to target my PIH and the darker skin on the sides of my face. I chose this Glycolic product as I wanted to start with something that had a low percentage of actives (less than 3% I believe) and this was what I found in stores near me. My only concern is that it is formulated with fragrance (shame but it does smell nice). I use this once or twice a week, it does say you can increase to daily use but I'd prefer not to. I have noticed a bit of difference in the PIH and darker skin (roughness/toughness is also going) but I doubt I'd repurchase the product once I have used it up. I'm keen to keep using the next product. The next new product was TO Niacinamide + Zinc (started one month ago), this is amazing! I noticed a difference within a week of using this! A blemish I had on my cheek was gone so quick after starting this product and there was no PIH after and my existing PIH also started to get better. My skin also looks slightly less dull, brighter you could say (within one month). I'm really surprised by this product and definitely recommend it! I haven't noticed any difference in skin oiliness but will report back in time. I do not use it on it's own, I put one drop in my moisturiser and mix - I do this as this product tingles my skin slightly.Bonus product: Lips! I had been using Carmex for years, but I hate that I'd have to apply it so much during the day in order for my lips to not feel dry or for them to not peel so much. I have also heard the ingredients are not that great (fragrance, menthol, salicylic acid may have caused the peeling etc). I'd previously tried Vaseline on its own but this always made my lips feel ten times worse (drier, stingy). I heard great things about Glossier's Balm Dotcom but did not want to try something formulated with fragrance or colour, so I got the original (fragrance free). Wow, this stuff is amazing - it's my HG, my lips are so much better. I only have to apply this stuff once a day in the morning and my lips stay hydrated, do not peel and just look so much better. I can now go a couple of days without even using a lip balm. 1000% recommend (Only been using this for three weeks!).I'm so happy with my routine and love the results, here is my routine as of now:AM:1.) Cleanse with Simple Refreshing Gel Cleanser.2.) Moisturise with TO Natural Moisturising Factors with one added drop of TO Niacinamide + Zinc.3.) Glossier Original Balm Dotcom on lips.PM:1.) Cleanse same as above.2.) (TWICE A WEEK ONLY) Exfoliate with Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Gentle Exfoliating Pads.3.) Moisturise same as above. You'll notice I do not have a sunscreen, I know I know, I'm using a glycolic product I should use one. However I have not found one that 1.) Does not make my face sweat 2.) Does not have a white cast. 3.) Is also physical (generally have preferred these but I know it's hard to find one without a white cast) and preferably coral reef safe. I also looked for moisturisers with SPF but could not find one within my budget that did not also have dimethicone (I know silicone based products make me sweat, plus I do not like the feel of them). I'm not concerned about ageing (good genes in the fam and no one uses sunscreen ekk, also ageing does not bother me) and I do keep out of the sun/wear hats in summer when necessary, though recommendations are welcome! You'll also notice I do not have a before and after, I unfortunately did not take a before (I was not expecting much) and I do not feel comfortable posting my face lol.I am also including the ingredients of the products I am currently using, just in case that helps anyone out:Cleanser, Simple Refreshing Gel Cleanser: Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Panthenol, Disodium EDTA, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Pantolactone, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide, Tocopheryl Acetate.Moisturiser, TO Natural Moisturising Factors + HA: Aqua (Water), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Stearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Arginine, Aspartic Acid, Glycine, Alanine, Serine, Valine, Isoleucine, Proline, Threonine, Histidine, Phenylalanine, Glucose, Maltose, Fructose, Trehalose, Sodium PCA, PCA, Sodium Lactate, Urea, Allantoin, Linoleic Acid, Oleic Acid, Phytosteryl Canola Glycerides, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Lecithin, Triolein, Tocopherol, Carbomer, Isoceteth-20, Polysorbate 60, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Pentylene Glycol, Triethanolamine, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.Niacinamide Treatment, TO Niacinamide + Zinc: Aqua (Water), Niacinamide, Pentylene Glycol, Zinc PCA, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Xanthan gum, Isoceteth-20, Ethoxydiglycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.Exfloliator, Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Gentle Pads: Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Fruit Extract, Glycolic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Benzyl Alcohol, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Disodium EDTA, Panthenol, Parfum (Fragrance), Limonene, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Dehydroacetic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Linalool, Geraniol, CitralLip Balm, Glossier Original Balm Dotcom: Petrolatum, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Beeswax/Cera Alba/Cire d’Abeille, Lanolin, Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, BHT, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol. Thanks for reading if you got this far and thank you for those active in this sub for your help whilst I was lurking!

[MISC] Reddit is taking beauty sustainability serious - here’s how | feat. r/AusSkincare and r/SkincareAddiction
Beauty Tips For Body Care
BEAUTY REDDITORS ARE TAKING SUSTAINABILITY SERIOUSLY - AND THE INDUSTRY IS LISTENINGIn two weeks since the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle wiki launched, r/AusSkincare members have been enthusiastically adding their ideas to the page, while other Reddit moderators from around the world—including those behind the highly influential, 1.1 million-member r/SkincareAddiction subreddit—have been encouraging their own audiences to read and add to the wiki. There’s intel on brands that reward shoppers for recycling, tips on how to reuse conventional beauty packaging, a list of reusable personal-care products, and even resources for reducing waste in fashion and at home. Layla believes this is a reflection of a broader societal interest in sustainability—one that reached a crescendo in 2019.“Consumers are becoming more savvy and know that they have a choice to demand change with their wallets and their words,” she says. “They want to make changes and choices and are looking for ways to do so.”Recently we have had a great response to the Reduce, Reuse, Recyle wiki hosted in r/AusSkincare. Not just from the communities of r/AusSkincare and r/SkinareAddiction but it appears the media as well.Well + Good has done a piece on the wiki and reached out for some comments.I wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank every single person who contributed, read, upvoted or in any other way engaged with the discussions we had here and here which have culminated in the wiki. I really want to stress how much of a community effort this has been and how I appreciate what we have created. The Wiki is still in early development and there is so much that could go there. Updates will happen as regularly as possible as new information and discussions happen and I am always open to feedback on it’s layout and how to make it more engaging and readable.r/AusSkincare Post

[Misc] Does anyone use lotion on their lips?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Pretty self explanatory but most chap sticks/balms don't really do much for me. In the morning I often just use my face lotion and swipe some vaseline on top to hold in the moisture. Works pretty well but I'm open to finding my HG lip balm instead. What do you use for your lips in particular?
