[Misc] Chilled Sheet Masks

Beauty Tips For Body Care
It's been pretty humid in my neck of the woods lately and I figured I'd try out chilling one of my gel sheet masks in the freezer. I popped that bad boy in for 3-4 minutes and it was good to go.Now I'm laying on the couch, mask on, door open, fan oscillating, rocking some comfy cozies and just loving life!Cool relief!Any other folks enjoy a chilled sheet mask to beat the heat? [Personal] Skin issues really affecting me psychologically.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Since about 14 years old, my skin has been the bane of my life. It really holds me back. I used to love my life, but I haven't for a long time now.Basically I'm dealing with:-Acne on face and neck-Keratosis pilaris on upper arms-Psoriasis in eyebrow and genitalsNow the psoriasis is easy enough to control with Protopic, but it's still in the back of my mind and makes me depressed because of the location. My acne bothers me, but it's only moderate, so my biggest concern at the moment is the keratosis pilaris. It's not the typical "chicken skin" though as mine is quite red. I've got really sensitive skin so AHAs/BHAs etc aren't an option - I've tried them before and they make it worse. So I'm stuck to just keeping it well moisturised. But I know that the bumps will never go down unless the shit underneath comes up, so I end up picking and squeezing until I get it up. Sometimes I think of just making little burns on my arms so that it scars over and is white instead of red since I can deal with scars, it's the redness that really bothers me.I also developed stretch marks on my back when I was like 14 or 15, but I've come to terms with those at least and they don't really bother me. But for a long time I hated them and it didn't help that a couple of my old "friends" used to tease me and say that I had been whipped.I regularly have suicidal thoughts when thinking about my skin because of how hopeless it all seems. I don't go outside for literally months at a time because I don't want anyone to see me.I've already been on accutane, which did help my acne but it wasn't permanent. Probably was the cause of my KP as well.I don't even know why I'm bothering to write this since it's not like anyone will have some kind of magic solution. I'm just really fucking fed up of my skin controlling my life. I feel like I've gone way beyond just simply being a bit worried about my skin. Just hoping someone can relate I guess.

[Acne] Why do some unpopped pimples go away on their own, while others have pus that hardens and falls off?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
My friends pimples with pus always go away on their own without popping, but my pimples always have pus that harden and falls off, without ever "deflating" or going back into the skin. Is there reason why one or the other type of pimple happens?

[Cringe] The worst skincare advice I've ever read.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I was reading this article on an actress on my favorite soap, General Hospital, and how she has to take a break from the show because her skin is acting up. I like to read comments on these kinds of posts because most are so ridiculous that you can't help but laugh. Of course on articles like these you're going to get people offering advice on skincare, and I was wondering what kind of jems I would find. This comment I just had to share:The best way to deal with acne is to have a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and a pile of cotton balls within reach. Then every hour soak the affected acne areas with hydogen peroxide. Let the skin stay wet and air dry. Do that over and over for as many hours each day as you can handle it. It will dry the hell out of the area so it can peel away and leave your skin new and healthy. Just stay on top of it by checking for peeling to begin then cut back on the HP and only do it 2 or 3 times a day. Then go down to 2 and then once a day. By then it will be ready to peel off completely. The bacteria under the skin needs to be killed and HP does the trick better then anything else you'll find. It's cheap and it works. I've had acne for different reasons due to allergies and my BF had a rough beard which my skin reacted to. No matter what causes the skin infection of acne you want to kill that bacteria as dead as possible as fast as possible. Sure you'll look like #$%$ for a few days when it starts to peel. But you look like #$%$ when you have acne so what's a few days of healing? I've been on meds, creams, told to stay out of the sun, etc, etc by the doctors. The only thing that worked and has kept working is straight undiluted hydrogen peroxide (HP). Once you do this routine it creates an anti-bacterial environment on your skin that keeps further acne infections way, way down. It wouldn't tell you to try it if I hadn't been through hell trying everything else. It's simple and it works. Good luck.I mean really? God I hope no one reading that actually takes her advice. shudder

[Skin Concerns][Hair Removal] "down there" care - shaving gives me irritation and razor burn, waxing gives me ingrown hairs. How do you maintain a smooth bikini line?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I love doing a Brazilian wax (I use Persian Cold Wax and it's great) but I don't know if it's worth all the ingrown hairs I get after! I use a BHA/AHA pretty regularly, so I don't really know how else I could prevent them. When I shave, the 'first' shave is smooth, but I find that I have to shave every day or so to stay stubble-free. This results in irritation and sometimes what feels like razor burn :(What do you guys do? Any tips? Should I just invest in laser? Thanks in advance for any help!

[Misc] What is your lip care routine?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Are there any products that you use and implement in your routine in the morning/evening? What are some products you live by/stay far away from? With wearing so many matte lipsticks, my lips are so dry. My lips are very sensitive to balms or any chapsticks, to the extent of giving me constant cold sores, so i've been staying away from the conventional chap stick/drugstore product. Thanks in advance.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
http://imgur.com/a/CjvH2I haven't put all of it on my face obviously haha, as I'm still testing products one by one, and I think I have enough products to be testing well into next year! I got a little carried away, especially with the free samples that Sephora gives with every order. So far I'm loving the Fresh line, meh about The Body Shop stuff (trying to finish it so I can move on to better products!), and super excited to slowly introduce actives into my routine!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Now, I've only been doing this for a month and even then, most of my actives (vitamin c and pc aha 8% gel) haven't even been 3 weeks but literally every time I wash my face I look at my skin and wonder am I'm GLOWING yet!! It's like I magically expect my PIH to fade right in front of my eyes or my skin to be baby smooth overnight. I've also gotten a few bumps that have left some spots. But uugggh I can't wait to see my results a year from now!! I'm about to add a BHA (Paula's Choice 2% liquid) in a few weeks and I can't wait to see what that does. This is exciting as much as it is frustrating lol

[skin concerns] hot weather irritating skin and breaking out. Needing suggestions on how to protect it.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
So yesterday I spent a good amount of time outdoors. The weather is really humid and I was running around the backyard a lot playing frisbee. So I was a little bit sweaty, a lot irritated by the grass, and even worse cat hair from the neighbors cat. (I'm really allergic to cats. The hair alone makes my skin itchy and break out in a rash) So by the end of the day I had three rather large painful pimples on different parts of my face and a constellation of small irritation bumps all over my chin, mouth, and the areas beside my nose. Is there a way I can protect my skin from these irritations? Of course sunscreen protects from sun irritation but does it block any other irritants? Also I know some people use stridex wipes or cleansing wipes to clean sweat off their face. Does this work? I wouldn't be able to use the stridex because too much of it also makes my face break out. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would hate to spend a summer indoors or with a face full of pimples!!

[Product Question] Why exactly do many peoples skin need to 'adjust' to AHA's?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Whenever I hear people talking about or reviewing AHA's, they're positive - but they always talk about how your skin might need to adjust to it at first and stuff like that, but why? I don't want to use something that's going to cause my skin to be sensitive, even if it 'gets used to it' after a while. I don't know, is this just me? I find it really off putting.

[Sun Care] Your favourite UV-index app?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm trying to find the perfect UV-index (iPhone 6s) that contains minute-by-minute UV-index (Norways weather is pretty bipolar), that contains a good graph AND has a UV-index widget as well. I've found a few, and I'd love to test them all to find the perfect one, but most of them are paid-only, and I don't feel like wasting money on apps that suck, anyone have any suggestions? Bonus points for "hints" about how to stray protected in current UV-index! The ones I wish to tryhttps://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sun-risk-see-your-risk-sunburn/id952406318?mt=8This one seems really good, but can't see if there's a widget? https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/uvmeter-check-uv-index/id662827178?mt=8I think this one has a pretty cute design, but not sure if there's a widget? https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/uv-index-widget-worldwide/id1100568288?mt=8Free app with limited data, can pay 99cents for extra details in widget. Right now I'm considering this https://itunes.apple.com/dk/app/uv-indeks/id632599524?mt=8Danish app(and only in Danish, I think.. Cute, free, no widget. I think it sends notifications. I like how this shows the difference in the UV index for cloudy and sunny. I also like that this app will give you tips based on your natural skin color, and how many minutes in different UV-indexes my skintype usually needs before getting a sunburn Anyone else with any suggestions? Or maybe for android store? :)

[Acne] Zinc and Vitamin A came through for me

Beauty Tips For Body Care
SO I was super skeptical when I read online that taking zinc could help a lot with cystic acne, but then I tried it. I continued my normal skin care and started zinc and Vitamin A and within a week all the big deep pimples were healing and I have no new ones. I still get the little ones (normal white heads) and need to keep up my care, but over all it improved my skin a lot.So I thought I would just throw out there my advice. if you are late 20s or in your 30s and you formally manageable (but acne prone) skin suddenly becomes all cystic and painful, try zinc and vitamin A.

[Routine Help] Looking to speed fading routine for hyperpigmentation

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've had terrible skin and bad hyperpigmentation for so long but over these few past months its been the worst it's ever been; marks that I've had for years have barely faded, even with a strict routine, and every hormonal and stress breakout ends up scarring my face even more. The texture of my skin is good, but the marks will not fade. My current routine is:Morning: rinse with cool water, stridex, niacinamide serum, moisturizer (cerave PM), sunscreen and makeupEvening: remove makeup (coconut oil), wash face with cerave SA cleanser, stridex, alpha hydrox AHA serum, moisturizer. It's been 6+ months of following a strict routine and my skin just won't get better - I'm so frustrated and exhausted. I need tips on how to fade this.

[Product Question] Could argan oil suddenly cause breakouts after months of using it?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
After years of trying to find a moisturizer that would moisturize adequately without breaking me out, I stumbled upon argan oil and my skin seemed to fall in love. I've been using it now for about 2 months and my skin has been radiant, soft, and even my acne scars seemed to diminish. Then suddenly last week, my face got hit with the worst wave of pimples I've seen since in a year and I haven't stopped breaking out since. I haven't changed anything else my my routine (cerave ffc & oil at night, splash of water, oil, and sunscreen in the morning). Is it possible that it's just now reacting to the argan oil or could it be something else?

[Anti-Aging] I (26F) am wondering if my under-eye bags/wrinkles are reversible. Pictures/routine provided, would love some CC on my routine!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey skincareaddiction! Before I start, I want to say that I have already read about 5 other user-submitted questions on this topic and the teach-it Tuesday post here. Just so you guys know I've done my homework! I first noticed the undereye bags appearing periodically about a year ago, but within the last 6 months have seen them popping up in almost every single picture along with some FOH SERIOUS eye wrinkles. The prominent wrinkles make me kind of sad since I've worn facial sunscreen every single day since I was about 17 (or an overall adherence of about 90-95%. Everybody slips sometimes.) I haven't done as much research into the wrinkles since right now they're slightly second in priority to the eye bags, but any help for those is very welcome.I'm partially posting because I know pictures are worth a thousand words, and I want to see if my particular eye bags are fixable or a permanent fixture, like tear trough/suborbital volume deficiency. And other than sunscreen, I'm wondering if I have any other options to slow down the progression of the under-eye wrinkles. I'm attaching some pics I took today too to go along with the constructive criticism for my current routine.See hereFrom my research, I've seen a bunch of options listed for healing/covering under eye bags, and I want to know which I should start with first and splurge (based on what type of under eye bags you all think I have) rather than lumping five products under my eyes. I tried to get a feel for the best makeup covering techniques and read a bit about Dermablend/correctors too, but I found the info a little confusing. Here are the "healing" options I've found, other than drinking more water, getting more sleep, and handling allergies.Vitamin K serum, like Vita KEstee Lauder advanced night repair eye serumClinique under eye rich creamMassaging under eyes in the showerWitch HazelPreparation HCooling face mask at nightI've been a major creeper of /r/skincareaddiction as well and have taken most of your advice to heart over the past year and a half, and I'd also love to see what you think of my routine/results and what tweaks you would make. My main goals are to slow down the signs of aging and decrease my oiliness during the day. I've never really had awful acne or sensitive skin issues. I have combination to oily skin, and am naturally very pale due to my daily use of sunscreen (I use fake tanner). Other than the horrible under-eye bags/under-eye wrinkles, I'd say I've seen good improvements in my skin and usually just get bursts of cystic acne around my chin - which I believe is due to hormones/stress and not my routine.Morning/Shower Routine:Cerave Foaming CleanserManual exfoliation (avoiding eye area) with small brush once a week in the showerCerave Moisturizing creamNeutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Broad Spectrum 45 SPF SunscreenClinique Pore Minimizer in InvisibleMaybelline Dream Fresh BB 8-in-1 Beauty Balm / Rimmel Stay Matte PowderNight RoutineGeneric Brand un-scented baby oil to cleanseStridex Maximum Strength pads for chemical exfoliationOZNaturals Super Youth Retinol MoisturizerSieva C25 Serum that I keep in the fridgeAn enormous dollop of Cerave Moisturizing Cream to finishThanks for reading, and I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's ideas and feedback!

[Product Question] I just got the Fresh Rose Face Mask - it feels great but I feel wasteful washing it off, can I leave it on?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I just got this mask and it feels really nice and soothing on, and I find that on my super parched skin, it actually dries and disappears, so when I go to rinse my face as the directions say, I feel like I'm wasting the product down the sink as well as making my previous dry matte face all wet and goopy feeling again to get the mask off. Can I just leave it on and put my moisturizer and serums over it - like sort of treating it as a gel lotion of sorts? Sorry for the newbie question!!!

[Skin Concern] What to do when your skin looks like this after showering? Pics inside.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Aloha my fellow redditors, I'm a 19 year old dude with a dream of sometime in my life achieving a decent looking skin. I've been dealing with very dry and sensitive skin since my 13 and to this day that hasn't really changed. Since October 2014 I've had this persistent redness on my face, later to be accompanied with these tiny little pimples. Of course I thought it was normal acne at first, but it didn't "act" like my normal acne i.e. sore to the touch, very red and big,... Didn't really spend too much attention to it last year, but it has became worse this year so my derm put me on Metronizadole because he thinks it's Rosacea, which I initially thought as well. Starting my 4th month of Metro now and there has been no change in bumps or redness, so now I'm doubting if it even is Rosacea at all. I don't experience flushing, triggers or broken capillaries just redness and pimples. Here's the routine I use at the moment for you all:AM: I either do nothing or I MIGHT cleanse it with LRP Toleriane and moisturize with Avene Skin RecoveryPM: OCM with pure mineral oil (unfragranced) or Hemp seed oil Metronizadole 0.75% Moisturize with Avene Skin RecoveryI've tried a PC BHA 2% but it essentialy just feels like it's burning my skin to a crispI know this looks pretty serious and I'm just looking for some advice or thoughts on what this might be. I have an appointment with my derm this friday to have another evaluation, so if you know of anything I should tell him please tell me. I'm getting my blood tested next week to check for any mineral or vitamin defficiencies and stuff, maybe that'll clear up some things as wellhttp://imgur.com/a/AR4Lo

[PRODUCT QUESTION] Regarding Cerave AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion with SPF.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I should preface this post by saying I just started the OCM about two weeks ago, and since I'm taking things slow with trying new products on my face, I haven't started using a SPF moisturizer yet. Well, I figured since I'd be outside a lot today, I would needed SOMETHING to protect my face, and I didn't just want to use Bananaboat or something. I just went to Walgreens and bought this Cerave product: http://imgur.com/GuU9IWv . I just gotta say it smells awful. Like, it makes me want to gag as it sits on my face. I also feel like i can taste it, its so pungent. It also seems like it doesn't really absorb very well into my skin. The lotion kept rolling up into balls as I rubbed it in. Has anyone else used this product and had these issues? Could it be because this product is for dry to normal skin, and mine is oily/combination? Walgreems didn't have anything else for oily skin. Let me know your thoughts. I might return it. Thanks!

[skin concerns] desperate to fix my super nasty skin, photos included

Beauty Tips For Body Care
so, i've been lurking in this sub for a while, hoping i'd come across someone's B&A success story that previously had skin like mine, complete with a miracle routine- but i've since realised everyone is unique and that instead of hiding away i should just reach out and try to do something about my problem/s.i've attached pictures for you guys to look at here: http://imgur.com/a/tblG8here is a text rundown of my face-i have THE most oily skin ever. you can't see it in the photos because i showered about an hour ago, but imagine how your skin would feel like if you slathered it liberally with Vaseline. that's how mine is 24/7, unless i wash off the oil or blot it with a paper towel. my pillow cases are constantly stained with oil (there's so much of it that it also leaks through to the actual pillow), i can't wear my hair down, i can't wear scarves or turtle necks... etc.i also have incredibly red, angry, blotchy skin. the rest of my body is snow white, so my strawberry face contrasts horribly with it and i'm very self conscious of the redness. if i could wear an oil-absorbing balaclava, that would be just great.sometimes my skin looks really dry; i do not wear any make up on a daily basis but in the past i have used foundation and upon application it flaked badly and looked dreadful (before sliding off an hour later because, oil).i get the odd pimple here and there when my time of the month is due but that's about it.my skin is seemingly incredibly sensitive. moisturisers i have tried in the past specifically made for 'sensitive skin' have burned my face like nobody's business.when i was a teen i went on accutane to fix my acne, which it did. it kept the oil at bay for the first two weeks, but then i built up a resistance to it and it came back in full force.miscellaneous details about me that may or may not be relevant-i'm in my early 20s.i eat really well; 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, no takeaways, no fast food, nothing fatty or greasy.i currently do not have a routine. i just use a johnson's gentle facial wash once a day when i shower.i do not use sunscreen as i rarely leave the house.i do not wear make up whatsoever.i do not moisturise.i do not smoke.i'm in the UK.goalsi would really really love to get rid of the ever-present redness. i have honestly even considered bleaching my face to try and get it white to match the rest of my body but i know this is obviously not something anyone should ever do.i would love it even more if i could banish the oil forevermore. it gets me down so much, more than anything else.i would really love if you guys could help me figure out a routine for my skin, i'm a complete noob and don't know a thing about skincare.thanks so much in advance guys and sorry for such a long post, i didn't want to leave anything out. hopefully some months from now i'll be one of those people posting a B&A!

[Routine Help] I find that washing my face with a cleanser gets water everywhere, am I doing this wrong?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I need help washing my face. Whenever I rinse my face with a cleanser (biore charcoal cleanser) it takes at least 5 rinses from the tap to get it all off. Somehow, even when I'm being extremely careful, water runs down my arms and gets into my hair and onto the mirror. Am I doing something wrong, or do I just suck at skincare?

[Skin concern] These large abscesses form on my boyfriends face and neck under his beard. Dermatologists are clueless.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello all, first time posting here. We have seen five doctors and dermatologists in the DC Baltimore area regarding this issue. All five just give him an antibiotic and send him on the way, a few drain it. The antibiotic never helps he's tried several. It's like there is fluid under his beard that just moves around and forms these huge lumps. They are very firm. A warm compress sometimes helps and sometimes a whitehead forms and it drains a little bit. Sometimes they get so inflamed we have to go get it drained. At any given time he has three or four of these varying in size. One time the fluid tested positive for mrsa but it's since been tested and there was no more mrsa. His beard is insanely thick and there is no correlation between shaving or not shaving and what happens with these lumps. Some of his hairs are so thick three or four grow out of one follicle. We are just at a loss. He is so handsome and these lumps are damaging and scarring his face. He is very clean we use staph soap on it daily and I change/launder the bedding several times a week. I can't find anything like this online. ANY advice is appreciated. http://i.imgur.com/fxWIHiU.jpgOne doc suggested maybe a plastic surgeon could see if something could be clogged under there causing these. Another said maybe a fungus. Just reaching out to see if anyone has experienced this.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Spent last week at the beach and spent a lot of time in the sun. I used Neutrogena Beach Defense SPF 70 for my body and my usual Hada Labo on my face. Reapplied every 2 hours or after 80 minutes of being in the water as per the label.I still got tan! HOW? WHY? I didn't get burnt at all but I did get fairly tan. I don't know what I did wrong.

[Skin Concern] How do I get rid of these dark spots, red spots, black spots, just spots everywhere!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
http://imgur.com/a/Ya5U4I'm not sure if these are freckles or sun damage, but the pores on my cheeks are also dark, same with my nose, and my chin has never ever been clear since I started puberty, and when I stretch the skin tight, bumps appear on my chin that aren't visible when my chin is relaxed. My current routine is: -clean & clear foaming face wash (going to change to the Fresh soy cleanser soon) -pure rosewater (not sure if it does anything... I spray it on my face) -the body shop drops of light essence -the body shop drops of youth serum -the body shop soothing aloe day cream -the face shop mango seed face butter (because my skin is so dry cream is not enough) -seaberry face oil (only on my eyelids since they get super flaky) -fresh overnight firming black tea mask (at night) -the face shop sheet masks a couple of times a weekI know I should use sun protection, so I've been trying to find a good face sunscreen. Ombrelle, Aveeno and Cereve AM didn't work for me, and I'm using a sample of Josie Maran spf 47 right now, although I find it kind of drying.I have paula's choice vitamin C serum on order, and I'm also waiting on some AB AHA and BHA products (mizon dust off 4% AHA serum and cosrx BHA liquid). I just got into skincare recently and I didn't know that I didn't have to live with dark pores and a congested chin for the rest of my life!I'm 24 F if that makes any difference, I also usually break out on my chin and forehead a bit when it's near my period. Thanks!!!

[Product Question] Is collagen a beneficial topical ingredient?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey /r/SkincareAddiction. I recently came across a "collagen serum" and I'm trying to figure out whether that's a thing.I know that using other ingredients like Vitamin C can promote collagen production, but does applying collagen topically actually have proven benefits? The serum I'm looking at is pricey, but it has dozens of glowing reviews. Here are the ingredients:Water, Soluble Collagen (Marine derived), Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Elastin (Marine derived), Honey, Phospholipids, Sphingolipids, Hyaluronic Acid, Algin (Marine derived Algae), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Powder*, Sodium Benzoate (Food grade preservative), Potassium Sorbate (Food grade preservative). *Certified OrganicIs this just an overpriced hydrating serum?

[Skin Concern] Acne and blackhead recurrences.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello!Acne Pictures to start : Acne Pictures AlbumI have run out of things to try so I was hoping that I could get some help from someone. I am currently 18 and have been suffering from acne/blackheads and an oily T-zone for the past 5 years. I have visited numerous dermatologists who have prescribed me creams and face washes that contain benzoyl peroxide and/or salicylic acid and that has not worked. I try to wash my skin twice a day with face wash and have tried scrubs, a face wash with 10% benzoyl peroxide, stridex and a whole selection of creams, one that comes to mind: benzac. I discussed accutane with my dermatologist a few days ago and he said that he was reluctant in giving that to me and even he was to prescribe it, it would have to be after I am done my semester abroad as it will take a few months and he needs regular checkups.I've met many doctors and family memebers who have told me that my skin is normal and that I should just accept this till it goes away but I really feel self concious. My skin soothes down randomly but for the most important events in my life it has looked horrible.I have tried going for facials to remove blackheads and that has also not worked. Is there any medication or tips anyone can recommend so that I can look decent?Thank You for all your help.Edit: My routine usually is washing my face with a neutrogena or something similar face wash followed by a cream containing either benzoyl peroxide/ salicylic acid .

[Personal] I use to have an extremely oily face, but now I don't

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I started my new routine either in early Jan 2016 or late Dec 2015. Notice a difference within a week. Perfection within a month. My skin type was oily.I had no pimple problems (one would pop up every once in a while but it would go away pretty quickly) so the only problem was that by 10-11 am my face would feel like i poured mazola corn oil on it. I would touch my face and it felt like I couldn't actually touch my face only the oil. Every chance I could get during school i would go wash with some water to help even if just a bit.I tried name brands (olay, mary kay) as well as store brands that were listed for oily face but nope nothing ever worked. Then on this sub i saw about cleansing with oil and yup, you guess it, my face is now oil free! all day every day. Noon or even bedtime my face feels clean and so light. I cannot believe the amount of money i spent trying out products (cleansers, moisturizers) in the past hoping to find a solution. now its a $1.70 for baby oil and $8 for cerave.Routine (lol can i even call it one? its so simple compare to past ones) if anyone by chance hasn't read the sidebar on oil cleansingMorning and Bedtime: gently rub Baby Oil, remove excess with Cerave Foaming Cleanser, Yes To brand moisturizerShower: oil first then hop in shower and remove with cleanserthanks to this sub for my bomb ass face!

[routine help] Itchy closed comedones (?) that won't go away

Beauty Tips For Body Care
BACKSTORY: When I was teenager I suffered from acne which eventually went away and until i turned 20 I've had pretty good skin! But then small bumps started forming on my cheeks. The number of small bumps increased over time and now, over 6 months later they're still very present. The only difference I can see is that some of them have turned into blackheads, I think. I have used bha for about 4 months and haven't seen any improvement.POSSIBLE CAUSES: When they flared up I had just started using makeup, so that can be the cause of them. But it can also be the coconut oil I used to remove the makeup with, maybe even hormones since I went through a very stressful period. Right now I'm trying to cut out alcohol to see if that's the culprit, but my sunscreen has alcohol in it (I'm still looking for a new one without alcohol plus I think my current one is breaking me out).DESCRIPTION: Some of the bumps are colorless and some appear to be blackheads. Occasionally they itch. SKIN TYPE: I have dehydrated combination skin with an oily forhead and normal/dry cheeks.MY CURRENT ROUTINE:AMLa Roche Posay Toleraine dermo-cleanserLa Roche Posay Toleraine ultraEucerin Sun fluid spf 50 (don't really like this one)PMBioderma Sensibio H20 (to remove all of the sunscreen)La Roche Posay Toleraine dermo-cleanserPaulas Choice 2% BHA liquid (wait 20 minutes)Paulas Choice 10% AHA gel (wait 20 minutes)La Roche Posay Toleraine ultraI use the exfoliants 2 days then "rest" the third day.Thank you so much for anyone taking the time to help me! [Skin Concern] Armpits are always red and irritated.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Here is a picture of the issue: imageHey everyone! So this has actually been a problem for a few years, and I know I should have looked into it a while back but here I am now, finally looking for a solution! My assumption is that I am allergic to deodorant. I have tried many deodorants: Old Spice, Dove for Men, Gillette, and Tom's All Natural Deodorant. None of these are antiperspirant, they are just deodorant. I have also tried the Certain Dri Antiperspirant roll on, and that made my armpits super itchy, irritated, and really red. So far though, the worst has been the Tom's All Natural Deodorant. I have just been living with the problem because I can't just not use deodorant! [PSA] [Sun Care] Do NOT put ice on burns!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Been talking with people on here over the past few months about burns but since it's summer I'm now seeing a ton of posts about sunburns. And over the internet I'm seeing a ton of ways to treat sunburn, many of which make me cringe even more than putting baking soda on a lemon wedge and rubbing that into your facehttp://imgur.com/a/LrSdeDo NOT put ice on a burn. AVOID IT. I don't care if it's sunburn, bacon grease fell on your arm burn, hot glue gun along your entire finger burn, dropped a marshmallow on your bare foot at a cookout burn. Don't do it. Ice will actually inhibit the healing process, I was taught way back that it seems to give immediate relief by shocking and killing nerves but no clue how accurate that is, since I can't find any science behind it.http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/10/health/10real.htmlIce does however inhibit healing. It can mimic/actually cause frostbite on very delicate skin that is doing its best to recover. Baby that skin. Use aloe liberally, if you want to get DIY then make a bowl of black tea and soak the burn in that (Tannic acid in the tea soothes burns and promotes healing). Take pain inhibitors as recommended by a doctor, or OTC stuff that you are aware can safely be taken by you in whatever situation your body is in.Avoid the damaging life hacks, please take care of skin in a delicate situation this summer. We've all been there where we try to use sunscreen but miss a spot or forget a reapplication. Some of us have even spent eight hours rebuilding a deck in the middle of high summer without even one sunscreen application and let me tell you the aftermath of that is not fun. We all make mistakes and regret it. Don't injure yourself further.

[Skin Concern] Rosacea?? Poison ivy?? Something else entirely??

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Sorry for the throwaway account, but I get very very shy about anything involving my appearance. My face has some kind of rash thing going on. Here's the best picture i could take. There are tiny, tiny bumps now covering the lower half of my face, they started on my lips. They itch a bit but mostly just make my skin feel very dry and tight, though it's not particularly dry to the touch. Now, I've actually been getting a similar reaction for a lot of my life. I've noticed it's usually triggered by the weather changing suddenly from very hot to very cold or vice versa (which just happened where I live) though one time it also occurred right after I tried a cleanser that was much too harsh for me. It would start at my lips, cover my face over a day or two, and then disappear in another day or two. During that time I cut all the more intense parts of my skin routine and sometimes put some product with calamine on it. But since it always goes away in a day or two and I don't have the resources to see a dermatologist, I've just sort of ignored it.What's different about this time is that yesterday, when the flareup was happening, I happened to wipe my mouth with the back of my hand to get some excess moisturizer off. And now, surprise! It's all over my hand. The bumps are less concentrated, but it's definitely the same thing. I've never had it be contagious in any way before but other than that, this is exactly like my normal reaction. So does anyone have any idea what this might be? Did I somehow dive face first into a bunch of poison ivy and then forget about it? And is there anything I can do to help my skin feel better?

[Skin concerns] Are there any products that genuinely work to reduce dark under eye circles?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I hope this is relevant to this subreddit, if not let me know.I have really sunken in under eyes and they're very blue/purple/black and pigmented. I know it's genetics, my mum has them also. I'm 21, I have pretty normal skin that's occasionally oily, and honestly I'm really happy with my it in general. I'm working on the large pores on my nose, but I can live with that. I don't do much at all to my skin, I'm definitely a less is more kind of person and it works me. I mostly use water and Cetaphil products. It's these dark circles that I'm getting increasingly self conscious and embarrassed about. They're definitely getting worse due to stress/lack of sleep, but they've always been bad. I'm pale (NW10) so it can stand out quite a bit and it's getting to a point where right in my inner corner I can't completely conceal all the darkness. Here are some reference pictures (sorry about the pimple cream, I'd just taken off my makeup and it's about to be that time of the month so I'm taking a lot of preventative measures - it's Mario Badescu Drying Lotion): http://imgur.com/a/ecyT0I guess I'm wondering, are there any products that actually work for dark circles? I'm thinking of trying either Vichy Daily Dark Spot Corrector (there isn't a lot of info I could find about this though), or Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Eye Serum which is CRAZY expensive but I'm honestly getting desperate. So I thought I'd ask first and see if anyone's tried anything that genuinely works for them.

[Skin concerns] My neck and arms are tanned due to sun exposure, what can do I do to even out my skin color (fade the tan out)?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello, My neck and arms (the area that's exposed to the sun when wearing half-sleeved shirts, around the half of my upper arm and downwards to my hands). I've been applying sunscreen for the past couple months and started wearing long-sleeved shirts and the tan slightly faded out, but the issue is that the tan is pretty bad so it's fading out REALLY slowly, and my skin is normal/dry which apparently contributes to the cell regrowth speed.I've been reading around the subreddit for awhile and my guess would be to start using exfoliants for the parts that arent exposed to the sun? Is that going to be helpful? and if that's a feasible option, what are some good exfoliant recommendations for dry/normal skin? Also are there any supplemental vitamins/etc that I could take to help encourage skin cells regrowth to speed up the process? Also this is unrelated to my main "concern", but I also have keratosis pilaris (AKA chicken skin), are there anything I could do to help with that as well? Thanks in advance!

[Skin Concern] I've had a porous nose since before I can remember tried everything help!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
My nose has always been really porous and it's just ugly, it looks like a dirty sponge. I've done everything I can think of to try and fix this, I squeeze and pinch the thing til my eyes water and whiteheads come out in that kind of gross strawberry seed way, but it never stays that way. I've used facemasks, nose strips, cleansers, but when they're all squeezed out the pores don't shrink and the whiteheads just reform. Someone once suggested to me that they're not caused by the whiteheads but that the pores are cavernous and the whiteheads just form because dirt is getting in there. Either way I'm desperate for advice, my nose is easily my worst feature and after 20 years I'm just sick of it.http://imgur.com/SnMIO0s

I want to wear a sunscreen to protect my face as I am putting some harshish chemicals on it to help my acne but cannot wear a creamy spf product and I cant for the life of me find a gel one.I'm not bothered about it being really high spf just a low amount is good but it is really important that it is a gel consistency and not creamy.Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

[Routine Help] When am I supposed to use Queen Helene?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello, I'm fairly new here and just started 2 weeks ago. So, I would like to ask when should I use Queen Helene and for how long? I've read some threads say that I shouldn't let it dry and some otherwise. So I'm a little bit confused about the application. Also, should I use cleanser before using it? or just apply on clean face (with water). My face is extremely oily and lots of acne. Though it's been clearing up lately and redness is left. I hope queen helene helps with the oiliness. Here's my current routine:AM: Cleanse with cleanser (tea tree main ingredient)Use PC BHA 2%, wait 15minUse PC AHA 8%, wait 15minApply Moisturizer (Kiehl's Facial Fuel Men)Apply Sunscreen (Biore Aqua Rich Essence)PM:Cleanse with cleanserUse PC BHA 2%, wait 15minUse PC AHA 8%, wait 15minUse Melano CC (vitamin cc with oil, so I apply it after AHA since it can't penetrate oil apparently)Apply Moisturizer (Kiehl's Facial Fuel Men)So, where does Queen Helene fit in here? Thanks guys

[Routine Help] Trying to fix my acne; no routine has ever worked for me

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have lurked for awhile, but am finally pulling up the courage to ask for help. Here's the problem. My face is driving me crazy! Here's a picture of what it looks like normally: http://imgur.com/pBl5BX7 . I've been trying for over a year now to shrink my pores, lighten my dark circles, and get rid of my blemishes. (My skin "type" is oily.)I've tried proactiv (disastrous), I've tried multiple foam cleansers (TheFaceShop, Aveeno, and L'oreal's Revitalift are the ones I've used for 6 month periods a piece for the past year-ish), I've tried topical acne products (acnevir was the only thing that /kind/ of worked). I used toner (Simple's Micellar Water) and didn't use toner. I used moisturizers (Etude House's Moistfull, L'oreal SPF15 face lotion, Clean & Clear face lotion all at separate times). I tried a serum (L'oreal Revitalift). I even tried oil cleansing by itself for about a week with the little sample of oil I'd gotten from TheFaceShop. All of it has done very little. I still get (real) blackheads, my sebaceous filaments are still dark, my pores haven't changed and, even when there aren't any pimples, there's like this underlying redness (you can see it on the sides of my face in the picture). All of the things I've tried over the past twelve months or so I introduced slowly (I didn't patch test but if I ever had something that made my skin feel bad [proactiv] I stopped using it immediately). I'm a poor grad student in the US so I try to stay in the drugstore pricing range of things. My routine (right now) goes something like AM: Cleanse (L'Oreal Revitalift) Acne prevention (Acnevir) Moisturizer: Clean & Clear Makeup: sometimes (but not in the past few weeks because I was trying to see if that's what was causing the irritants)PM: Cleanse Acne Serum: L'Oreal's RevitaliftReally, I'm just desperate for advice. :/

I've suffered from pretty severe acne since I was 12 (22 now) and was never able to afford a dermatologist nor did I have insurance. [skin concerns] please help me save my face after ole henriksen youth oil destroyed it

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Here's the rundown: bought that pure truth youth activating oil 2 wks ago, stupidly used it probably too much. Noticed clusters of small red bumps appearing on my face last weekend and stopped using the oil. Went back to my regular routine (cetaphil for oily skin, red stridex). Only... The bumps seem to be getting worse/spreading. Since the only thing I've added to my routine lately is this damn youth oil, I'm blaming it.These bumps are in patches but may be spreading. Mostly gathered on the sides on my chin and under my eyes. They don't itch or hurt, and I think they can be popped but I've been trying to leave them alone/they are really small. It seems like they are getting dry-ish? Naively, I am hoping this means they are going away. Like maybe they have to get worse before they get better?? (Probably misplaced optimism). Also-I am almost positive they aren't milia. If anyone has any advice, suggestions, similar stories, I would greatly appreciate it. Wtf are these and what should I do?? I'm supposed to go see my long distance BF next week and the thought of going there looking like this makes me really sad (have even looked into switching flights to another weekend bc I'm insane). I left a message for my derm but not sure if I'll be able to get in next week. I've been googling this for days and can't find a similar reaction from this product so I'm not sure what ingredient did it to me.Oh yeah, I've got combination skin and normally it is very well behaved. I get the occasional zit but it's never that bad and they go away. We have a great relationship and IM SORRY I DID THIS TO YOU, FACE.P.S. I'm not hating on the ole henrikson. I'm keeping the bottle and want to try (gently) reintroducing it when I get my skin under control. It made the skin on my forehead look great, and I honestly am sad I had this reaction to it

Around the time I had my last cigarette (Jan 23rd): http://imgur.com/a/vysE8. I also made a post around that time citing my frustration: https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/42mo0t/acneretinols_not_working_what_now/Today: http://imgur.com/a/TONm5Routine:AMCerave Hydrating CleanserCetaphil LotionElta MD UV ClearPMCerave Hydrating CleanserRose Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal)Cetaphil LotionRetinol (Epiduo for 2 nights, Retin-a Micro for 1 night, and so on)I've actually been increasing my intake of diary because organic whole milk tastes too damn good, and life is pointless without cheese. I will pop a pimple only if I'm confident if the core can be extracted very easily, then I apply Aquaphor overnight. Never pop in the morning.I'll post some tips on staying off cigarettes if there's any interest in that. Just know that I don't consider myself an ex smoker or a non smoker, rather someone still in the process of quitting, and still constantly wary of any situations that may tempt me. I avoid other smokers like the plague. Also, it took me over 50 "tries". Maybe even 100. I was an on and off smoker for almost 4 years, and fortunately able to avoid the embarrassment of being able to remember how many "last cigarettes" I've had. Also, any tips to speed up the recovery process would be greatly appreciated, I still have some PIH that are not going away nearly as fast as I would like. I'm also still in the market for a better moisturizer at the moment as Cetaphil Lotion is rather greasy and doesn't really absorb, but honestly can't find anything with a better ingredients list.

[Review] Primrose Oil and Hormonal Acne

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Every month, I'll have 1-2 weeks of glorious, soft, smooth, clear skin. Then I'll get 2-3 weeks of rough, bumpy, and chin/jawline acne. During my good skin days, my BHA and lactic acid work like a charm. But no amount would work during the impending time of the month for me. Last month, I felt was pretty bad. It seemed like my hormonal acne started and stayed around for far too long. On here, I heard about people taking primrose oil pills. So, I looked into it and bought a bottle. I take 2 pills a day totaling to 2000mg.The next month after taking primrose oil, I began to take notes to see if there was a change. 10 days before my period, I noticed a few pimples. 3 to be exact, 2 on my jawline, and one on my upper lip. After a few days those healed. But for the whole time until I got my period, my skin remained soft and smooth. And with the exception of the 3 pimples, I remained pretty clear. Pimples healed pretty fast too. I'm beyond happy to see that this worked. I was worried because I have my son's birthday party coming up and didn't want the hormonal skin mess and feeling like crap. Thank you to those of you who mentioned this here. And I hope it works for those who read this.

[Skin Concerns] Slightly bumpy red patches from temple to cheeks to nose. Dr. thinks rosacea but I am not so sure...

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have a horrible red face problem that is beginning to affect my day to day life. It started around 3-4 years ago and has progressed this last year. It used to just show when I worked out or after a hot shower but now it is constant. I am embarrassed and self conscious and finding myself reapplying makeup multiple times/day. I just want to figure out what's going on :(Here is my red face (One pic is plain, and one has red areas circled in red and white 'normal' areas circled in green)http://imgur.com/a/t2xmtThe issue: I have red skin patches mainly around my temples that 'bleeds' down to my cheeks right under my cheekbone and over my nose to the other cheekbone. It resembles the shape of one of those blue gel eye masks. The texture is slightly bumpy and sometimes dry but, more or less, feels like the rest of my skin. It doesn't bother me physically, it's just...ugly.The area around my eyes are white/normal and there seems to be a line from my eye down to my jawline that is normal skin. Weird.Routine:I wash my face with benefit's Purity Made Simple both morning and night. I have been using this wash 5+ years, starting long before my face issue. I use CeraVe in the tub both morning and night as a moisturizer. When I use sunscreen I use Bobby Brown. For makeup I usually use a tarte bb cream or diorskin foundation.Doctor's Orders:I have been to see a dermatologist and she didn't really have a clue. She said her best guess was early onset rosacea and she prescribed me Finacea and sent me on my way. I used as prescribed for 2 months and nada. No change whatsoever.Has anyone else had anything like this? Anyone with rosacea out there have insight to the pattern? Any advice is very much appreciated! And of course, if I can give more info please ask :)

[review] first combo sunscreen that doesn't burn!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Ermergerd I am so excited about this. I ordered my first Japanese sunscreen a while ago and didn't realize until after I placed the order that it was not purely physical, it was a mixture of ZnO, tinsorb and one of the filters beginning with 'O'. (It's Rohto Sunplay Super Block Sunscreen btw http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/imaster/item/e393637h0000/) I wasn't too bothered because it was not costly and I thought I would try it once on my face and if it stung (as I fully expected) I would just use it for my hands and chest. I put off testing it out on my face because my last experiment was with Hawaiian Tropic silk hydration and it burnt like a bitch (even though my twin sister loves it, weird huh?) as did the Olay Complete for sensitive skin even though there is no avobenzone in it... but I finally braved it and yessss. I applied the Sunplay very slowly and was waiting for the horrible tingling/stingy sensation but it never came! Just lovely, milky, hydrating, PA++++ magic. So happy I've just bought ten more.

[Acne] How long does it take to know if dairy causes your acne?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
If i cut all dairy from my diet, how long would it take for me to see a difference? I'm at my wits end with my acne. I don't get much but I get 1-2 nodules a week that leave an indented scar or leave a mark for a very long time. I've been on almost every topical prescription and antibiotic (i'm a male so no BCP).My skin was pretty clear surprisingly at the beginning of the year. I started working out and drinking half a gallon of milk with whey protein everyday. Also started taking an OTC testosterone boost supplement. Overtime my skin started getting worse again. Idk if it was from working out, the testosterone supplement, or from the ton of dairy I was drinking. I cut off the test supp. for over 2 months now and on the dairy/whey for a couple weeks now but I'm still breaking out with the same scarring acne. Would it take longer than a couple weeks to see results?

[Acne] Stridex Questions?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Okay, so I've been using Stridex in the red box for 3 weeks now, Monday will be a month. I use it once a day at night. I originally got it because I had lots of clogged pores on my forehead. However, I am not quite sure if it's working just yet. I think my skin feels smoother but I am just not sure because I have 5 small pimples that have popped up on my forehead over time. These didn't appear til a few days ago, this week.I almost feel like I may have even more clogged pores after using Stridex, and then those random pimples that appeared don't make me feel too good either. :/How long did it take for you guys to notice any kind of change?
