Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I've been a longtime lurker for a while....I've been slowly adding in products to my routine and have so far found it to be SCA a great resource for any questions or confusion I have.I've been looking at adding in a Vitamin C serum for a while now, but have been hesitant due to how expensive a lot of the serums are. Recently, however, I got a really great coupon and jumped on it before really reading through the ingredient list. Looking at it now it seems like there's a lot of extra stuff in there, especially when comparing it to some of the recommended vitamin c serums. It's got stuff like witch hazel and a bunch of other oils and I'm a little worried about putting this on my face. It only cost me like 2$ for the bottle, so if it really looks sketchy I'd rather just cut my losses. Here's a list of the ingredients.....I would be so appreciative if someone could tell me if this looks okay, and maybe even what all these extra things are there for? Ingredients: Aqua(Water), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Absorbic Acid (L), Alcohol Denat, Glycerin, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Tocopheryl Acetate (D-Alpha) Vanilla Planofoil Fruit, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange), Peel Oil*(Certified Organic Ingredient), Lavandula Angustafolia (Lavender) Oil, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Oil, Santalum Austrocaledonicum (Sandalwood) Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Glycine Soja (Soyabean) Oil, Xanthan Gum, Polsorbate 20, Caprylyl Glycol, PhenoxyethanolProduct: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DNQFR2S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Three questions:1) Are you supposed to rinse your face after wiping it down or leave it be?2) How long are you supposed to keep it on for?3) Should you apply moisturizer afterwards?

[Acne] Can allergies to stuff in the air like pollen and dust cause acne?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi,I'm an 18 year old girl and have mild but persistent hormonal acne. I only get pimples on my chin usually before my period but they last really long and leave red marks. I break out 10 times more in the spring/summer on my chin, cheeks, and around my mouth and get tiny red bumps on my face. If you look at my face I don't have alot of acne (maybe two little pimples on my chin) but if you feel my face there are tiny bumps everywhere. I've noticed this only happens when the air is full of pollen and dust. I never thought I had allergies but it makes sense as to why I'm breaking out. My eyes also water and my skin gets itchy. However, I tried to look up more about this online and everyone only talks about food allergies making acne worse but can other allergies do the same thing? Thanks in advance!

[Product Question] Started using Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid and now I'm breaking out.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey guys! Fairly new to the sub and after about a month of reading, I decided to try the Paula's Choice BHA Liquid. I just started using the product late last week. My overall complexion is looking better already, but I definitely have some new, small pimples around my chin and upper lip. Did anyone else experience this upon first starting? Of course I'm gonna ride it out a bit longer - I'm hoping my skin is just purging right now. How long should one wait before deciding the product is actually causing you to break out, as opposed to simply purging due to starting a new product? I've read so many good things on this sub, so I hope I can continue using! Thanks, guys :)

[Skin Concerns] If my face gets dirty during the day, should I wash my face more?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Right now I typically wash, cleanse, exfloiate and moisturize my face twice a day, but I also work as a house cleaner and sometimes products and chemicals hit my face making it feel irritating. I was wondering if at this point what you guys would recommend. Should I do my whole process again after my face feels irritated? Should I only wash it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[PRODUCT QUESTION] Which Vitamin C Serum should I get next?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello Skincare Addiction!I've been slow to jump on the vitamin C bandwagon, but I'm happy I finally did! As someone who had pretty bad acne as a teen, took accutane, and still has some stubborn marks, it's exciting to finally find a routine that's helping them go away.I've been using the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum and while I can't reeeally tell whether I'm running out (opaque packaging...) it's been a good five months so I'm getting ready to replace it.My question is: what are your vitamin C serum recommendations? The price tag on the Drunk Elephant is a little hefty, but it's a great product so I don't mind investing. I'm interested in hearing your opinions on vitamin C serums in general and also these specific ones:-Dr. Dennis Gross Hydra-Pure™ Vitamin C Brightening Serum-Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum-Serumtologie Vitamin C serum 22Thanks in advance!

[Acne] Cleared my body acne by not picking, is it possible to do the same with the face?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I'm a 17 year old girl, and I've had moderate acne since I was 12 or 13. Now I'd like to say this was just normal acne, but mine has always been considerably worse than my other teenage friends, who mostly have clear skin by now.My body acne started at 13/14, and it stopped me from wearing any kind of tank top or bathing suit. I really started trying to treat it this year, and assaulted my skin with all kinds of body washes, BP, salicylic acid, etc. I finally gave up and tried one last thing: a sea salt toner, applied once a day and left on over night. Now I'm not sure what cleared me, the sea salt toner or the fact that I didn't touch/pick my skin AT ALL during this period. Prior to this, I'd pick at/pop any clogged pore, blackhead, whitehead, or red bump. Anyway, a month later, I'm left with no acne on my chest, only one small pimple on my shoulder (I'd like to say this is normal, especially at my age), and a few small pimples on my back- nothing that would hinder me from wearing a bathing suit or tank top. I'm extremely happy with these results and haven't been picking at my skin at all. Little to no acne has reformed. So I'm just wondering- is it possible that the same approach could apply to my face? Am I just prolonging (and worsening) my acne by constantly picking and popping? I've recently dropped all my chemical skincare products after developing a rash with hives after using BP, and my new, current routine is:Morning - Apply Thayer's Witch Hazel with Aloe toner with a cotton pad - Apply one Niapad (vitamin B3 pad) - Apply makeupAfternoon - Nothing, but I'll take my makeup off ASAP if I'm not going out againNight - Remove makeup - Shower - Apply Witch Hazel Toner - Apply Niapad, cut one up and leave it on problem areasAfter only a few days of this combined with very minimal touching, I've already seen a decrease in inflammation and a decrease in the amount of new pimples forming.Has not touching your face and eliminating chemicals every worked for anyone when it comes to acne? Does the fact that my body acne went away after not picking mean that if it weren't for my touching, I most likely would have very little acne?

[Acne] Bacne and related scarring - time to find a solution
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've been battling bacne since I was 11 years old - now 20 - and have had no luck banishing it whatsoever. I have been on multiple acne treatments, from topical Differin, Epiduo and retinoids to prescription antibiotics and Accutane. While some have been a little more effective than others, nothing has completely gotten rid of it, with the added perk of continuously picking up more acne scars and related hyperpigmentation over the years. My skin is also quite dehydrated - which is might be due to the hardness of the water where I live. Enough is enough. I have no idea how I can begin to find the path to a clear back, but I thought that I might start here.

[MISC] 22yo man looking to try out some makeup in the near future
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Recently ive played more and more with the thought of trying out makeup as a guy, i dont really give a damn about stigmas and whatnot anyway so i dont mind.Thing is, however, i dont have a single clue about what to try and why i should try something. I have a lot of friends that wear a lot of makeup (sometimes waaaay too much) but im not looking to overdo it at all.Im basicly looking for: * basics that help my skin look healthier/better, preferably nothing too far from my natural color* anything that helps my skin less fatty, especially on my nose i have a lot (A LOT) of blackbeads* if anything like that exists some way to stop my forehead from sweating all the time, whilst i am far from superfit or whatever, my forehead sweats the very instant i feel warm or do any type of physical effort. Going to work in a kitchen from this year on so i would really like to not have to swipe my forehead all the time! (it also makes the skin feel very dry and coarse after wiping it all day)If you have any other pointers or products you think i should try feel free to mention them! Id prefer to shy away from the more expensive ones to start though since im still a student!

I've been waiting for iHerb to get Neoteric Cosmetics products with the new branding in stock and it just didn't look like it was happening. I e-mailed iHerb to ask what's up and got back a response that it is for sure discontinued.Except the lady also said: "However, iHerb does take product requests. We have forwarded your email to the appropriate department so they can go over your request. Requests are analyzed and studied by our Purchasing Department to determine if there is enough demand for the item to order."So, yeah. If any of y'all want to see Alpha Skin Care items back on iHerb shoot them an e-mail. iHerb is the go to store for MANY folks outside of the US and these products are great. Holy Grail kind of status for a lot of people. I think if enough people let iHerb know WE NEED THIS they'll bring it back. info@iherb.com or you can use the contact form on their website. Thanks

[Review] Yes To... Grapefruit dark spot correcting serum
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have old and new acne scars on my cheeks and forehead.I tried the Yes To Grapefruit dark spot correcting serum to see if it would improve my dark scarring spots at all. I got it discounted online through a natural cosmetics co-op website which I've never used before.4 Weeks: Applied Yes To Tomatoes face moisturizer to clean face, then applied the correcting serum twice a day. Noticed no improvement, re-read instructions on bottle, decided to give it four more weeks this time applying the spot corrector first, and face lotion second.8 Weeks: Applied spot corrector to clean face, followed by Yes To Tomatoes face lotion twice a day. Still did not notice much improvement, even after applying corrector first, lotion second, for four weeks. My dark spots appeared to have faded a little, but that was likely from my face tanning as the weather got nicer.Though the correcting serum was able vanish new acne wounds at a faster rate than when they heal naturally. I didn't notice much of a change in older scars or dark spots.

[Product Question] The wiki is honestly too confusing for me. I just need help finding these two products.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi guys,Thanks beforehand for your help and all the great work you do helping people on this sub. I've got a situation...So I'm already on Duac Gel which works well for me but isn't good for getting much of my body other than my face. My GP had nothing she could prescribe for my back and whatnot and so she told me to just buy a 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide body wash (or any worthy alternative) and trawling the wiki here it seems I need to find myself a decent moisturiser too.A big thing is that I'm low on cash at the moment and I like being able to purchase in person. With that in mind...I need help finding a 2.5% Benozyl Peroxide wash and an SPF30 moisturiser that are good value for money and are typically easy to find in UK high street stores such as:Boots, Superdrug, Lush, Bodycare or any pharmacy etc.I'm hoping to spend around £15 but I do see the value of investment so feel free to recommend anything in the region of £0-40Hope you guys can help.

Removing sunscreen w/out a cleanser [Skin Concerns]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey everyone! I've been using a zinc oxide based titanium sunscreen to help allow my PIH to fade and it's been working really well, but I'm worried that the sunscreen and lack of a cleanser (I rinse with water and use soft pads to wipe any potential dirt off my face because my skin is very sensitive to most cleansers) is causing the sunscreen to clog my pores and create more pimples and such. Is there any effective way to get all the sunscreen off without a cleanser? Thanks!

[Sun Care] Sunscreen for sensitive skin
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi SCA! I'm wondering if anyone has any sunscreen recommendations for sensitive skin. I currently have a sunscreen but it sucks and I don't really go out that often so I haven't really thought about getting a new one until now. I'm just looking for something that is non-irritating and isn't TOO expensive (I don't have time for $70 sunscreen lol). Thanks for the help!

[ACNE] red marks (where pimples used to be) not fading away
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I had some problems with pimples here and there, not full blown acne, so I bought a neutrogena 2 in 1 facial cream.Although I'm not getting as many spots now, the weird thing is that all of my spots have left visible red marks behind, for over 2 weeks. They're not scars, just red marks, but still visible.Could anyone advise me on a product which might help get rid of them? Or something I could do?

[Product Question] Can I use micellar water between cleansing?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I cleanse in the morning and at night with CeraVe Hydrating and moisturize with Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel. I don't usually wear makeup, and very rarely put any on in the morning, if I do use any it is usually later in the day before I go out or socialize with people. The problem is that by this time, my face starts to get oily. I don't want to cleanse and moisturize three times during the day, so I thought I could just swipe on some micellar water to get a good foundation for my makeup. Would this be too drying or irritating to be applying a 'cleansing' product between the times I wash my face?I've never used micellar water before, but I'm assuming you just swipe it on and leave it, no rinsing required, correct?

[Routine Help] Trying out Vitamin C for first time -
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi all!I know there are a lot of threads on Vitamin C for PIH/PIE but I wasn't able to find definitive answers for some of my questions so was hoping to do that here. Starting with the C20 -Do you do it AM or PM or both?Is it the first thing after cleansing and how long should you wait before moisturizing? Do you leave it on before moisturizing or wash it off after x minutes? Is it bad to mix with anything else (Like BP or I use EltaMD's PM therapy at night, it has some active ingredients)Thanks so much!

[Sun Care] What exactly does increased sun sensitivity mean?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey guys!So I've read a lot on here that you should be wearing sunscreen once the UV reaches 3+. But what about people with an increased sun sensitivity like those who use an AHA or have rosacea? Does increased sun sensitivity mean that those people are at risk of damage & need to wear sunscreen even when the UV is 1 or 2? Or just that they're more likely to suffer worse burns & damage than the average when the UV reaches 3+?Thanks!

Shaving your face and your routine? [Routine help]

So I'm new to this but it seems that nobody includes when they shave their face into their routine. I find I need to shave every other day to look presentable and already do the whole wicked edge thing, so do I just shave then do the part of a routine recommended? Or does the shaving already cover some steps?

Hi SCA, I've cleared the acne on my chest however this is what I'm left with http://imgur.com/a/MPMBQ. I've been using Stridex which helped clear the acne, however nothings improving these marks, I've just started using PC 8% AHA hoping it'll work.I'd be really grateful if anyone could give me some advice on how to tackle this, I've learnt to accept my backs covered in scars but this is a lot more obvious.Thank you!

[Skin Concerns] PIH HELP!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello ScA!I am Indian, and I have Indian skin which scars easily. My battle with mild acne ended as soon as it started, but left my skin with PIH. Most of these have since faded, but new ones had come about whenever I got the occasional pimple. But one. Just one PIH spot has not gone away even after 4 years. It has definitely slightly faded, but it has not gone away completely like the others have. Furthermore, it is right on my forehead. I need help. What should I do. I tried hydroquinone for a while, and it just made the surrounding skin lighter but didnt really lighten the mark. I am currently using OST 20 vitamin c serum together with their cream every night. I must admit I skimp out on sunscreen. Please help! Has anybody been in a similar situation? 4 years and it has not faded. I am really really worried right now. What can I do to remove it?

[Acne] Having sex with cystic acne? Paranoid about bacteria
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm dating a new girl and she knows I have skin problems on my body but what do you do when you have active cysts some which may be semi-open (get blood on shirt on occasion). The last thing I would want is for her to get acne or some infection from skin to skin contact (she has clear skin). Is this sort of thing transmittable during sex? If you take a shower after does it matter? Should I just keep my shirt on?I'm a little neurotic about this and a germaphobe myself so any advice is appreciated!

[Acne] Cystic Acne Advice.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi, I am 29 and have had cystic Acne since I was 16. I am very very oily all over my face and I have large pores on my cheeks. I have taken doxycycline for a year for it in the past, but that didnt help my skin much. I have recently discovered that sunscreen and dimethicone (which are in almost all liquid foundations and primers) makes my cystic Acne worse. I switched over to Bare Minerals (the one that's supposed to help with complexion) about 3 months ago and Have seen a huge improvement in my skin. I wash my face with Philosophy facial wash and use Jojoba oil on my skin for a moisturizer. Those are the only 2 products I currently use. I thought switching makeup would make it go away, but I am still having cystic spots come up, although it hasn't been as bad( I have way more good days than bad now). Any advice to help keeping them at bay and make my pores smaller would be appreciated.

[Skin Concerns] Skin isn't absorbing anything. Dehydrated or not enough exfoliation?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
As the title says my skin doesn't absorb anything. No cream, no gel, no sunscreen. It all sits on top. I read this could be a sign of dehydrated skin, but on asian beauty they said, it could be because i'm not exfoliating which leads to dead skin build up. Which one is true?

[Routine Help] No acne but oily forehead
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello, as the title says I get an oily forehead and I've got some sf's on my nose but I don't get acne. My cheeks will feel a little dry after I get out of the shower.I use clean & clear morning burst and some aveno lotion and that's it. I've spent a couple days looking through this subreddit but couldn't find exactly what I should do. Someone recommended Paula's choice acne exfoliant in another thread, but I'm not sure if that's what I need. Can someone just tell me exactly what to buy (to start with) and do please! I just wanna stop getting such an oily forehead.

[Skin Concerns]Chin Wrinkles?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I never thought of asking about this until just now, but whenever I make a face like opening my mouth or holding it closed, a bunch of wrinkly indentations show up on the front of my chin, as if you had taken a normal chin and imprinted it with a meat tenderizer. I'd write this off as like normal wrinkles if I weren't 21, with this having been a thing as long as I can remember and no other wrinkles to be seen. Not sure what other information I can provide (my skin is somewhat dry but didn't used to be, I don't really do anything to it, I am slightly underweight but nowhere else shows anything like this) or if this even belongs here, but any ideas?

[Product Question] Derma rollers intentionally cause tiny wounds -- but isn't that exactly what the walnut scrubs do?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Okay, so walnut and apricot scrubs are the devil. We all know this. They cause microtears. But isn't that literally exactly what shallow dermarollers do? Tear up the skin so as to allow penetration of products applied afterward, and supposedly renew the skin by forcing it to repair itself? The longer ones do other things, like stimulating collagen, but that's a different story. My point here is -- are microtears actually so bad? If they're followed with a targeted essence and protective creams? Is there a difference besides the literal shape and grid-pattern of the tears you're making?

[Skin Concerns] Can you help my mom?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Image: http://i.imgur.com/tq4p9ER.jpgAs gathered from the picture, maybe, my mom has some dry skin under her eyes that she'd like to do away with. It doesn't hurt her, it isn't irritating, it's just annoying and she doesn't like how it looks. The only thing she does for skincare (concerning her eyes and the area around them) is removing her mascara with an oil-based makeup remover (that she's used for years), and taking out her contacts. There are rare occasions when she puts on night cream, but the dry skin appears every night regardless of whether she does that or not.So, are there any hydrating under-eye creams that are fairly inexpensive that you would recommend she try? Or should she do something else besides just using an eye cream? Thank you for your help!

[Skin Concerns] I'm 17 and my skin is only starting to ruin my self-esteem now.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello strangers, I've been having horrible skin problems since I was fifteen. I have just turned seventeen and am still suffering the same problems that most of my peers only suffered in middle school. I don't even know where to begin. The acne is obvious, but my skin seems to look both cracked and oily at the same time? I also see wrinkles, but I don't believe that is the case at seventeen. I wash my face daily with the orange Neutrogena soap bar after I come inside so I can wash the sweat off of my face immediately. My showers are also an opportunity for me to use this orange bar. Other than that, I use no complicated products other than a clear blue Neutrogena astringent with salicylic acid as the active ingredient. I just put this on a cotton ball and wipe my face with it when I feel my face starting to become oily. I used a benzoyl peroxide cream for a while, and it did nothing special. I discontinued use of it two months ago due to fears about the sun. I spend a hearty one to five hours a day exposed to direct sunlight outside every day without sunscreen. I've never had sunburn in my life, but could the sun be the thing that's killing me? Could I already have skin cancer? Skin type: 1 oily (I guess.)Image (warning: ungroomed facial hair, eyebrows, and hair because it's summer and i don't give a shit. i probably look like a bum or an ogre or worse.)

[acne] acne back after liver surgery, help!?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey guys, getting pretty down lately, you all probably know why haha. Basically I used to have acne as a teen (now 23) so I went on a benzoyl peroxide cream by the drs (and have been on it since) and eventually got it pretty stable, only coming out in a few spots. I've also been on the pill since I was 16, the first pill I was on was to help my acne, then I switched to a different one (microgynon 30?) and was told this would not benefit or make my acne worse, which it didn't. However, three months ago I had to come off the pill altogether and about 2 months ago I had liver surgery. After the surgery I stopped using my benzoyl peroxide cream as too ill to use it. Up until about 3-4 weeks after the surgery my skin seemed fine (I tried not to use any creams etc hoping I'd have grown out of acne by now) but suddenly spots appeared on the cheeks, then my forehead, then going down to my chin, and now getting them on my neck... Ive started my regime that I was doing before my surgery again, benzyl peroxide and all, but as of now, no luck. It is so depressing, I thought I'd left this horror behind. :( any help would be appreciated? Now I know it could be one of three things here, but suggestion will help greatly.Edit: Three things I know it could be: Stopping using benzoyl peroxide, so I'm trying that again as I were before hand. Stopping the pill. Unfortunately never allowed back on any pill due to health. And the liver surgery. One of my very knowledgeable colleagues said it could be this, as the liver removes toxins etc from the body, and can also mess with the hormones. I just want to know, of it turns out to be any of the above, do you think it'll settle, or should I be trying other things as of now?

[Routine help] Want to include sunscreen on the reg, can't figure out how to make it easy
Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I am a 22 year old female looking to finally start wearing sunscreen on the reg. I usually only wear it when I'm going out to the beach, etc., but I am now living in a city that is quite sunny and I walk quite a bit, so I'm ready to get my sun protection on.I guess my issue is that whenever I wear sunscreen in the morning to walk the dog, I sweat a little and the sunscreen seems to move, even though I put it on way in advance for it to absorb into my skin. The sunscreen I'm using is Aveeno's SPF 70 sunscreen that is waterproof, so is it just appearing to be moving but isn't actually? Should I reapply once I leave for work in another 2 hours? How do I combat the stickiness?Would appreciate routine recommendations as well as product recommendations. Maybe I'm not picking the right product and my problems can be solved with that!

[Review] Clinique Even Better Brightening Moisture Mask
Beauty Tips For Body Care
http://imgur.com/xO7NGlMHey everyone! I had mentioned this in a Rant/Raves thread a few weeks back and I'm now at a point where i can give a full review of the Clinique Even Better Brightening Moisture Mask.My skin is normal and tends to lean a bit on the dry side according to the weather. This is the first "moisturizing mask" that I've ever used. It retails for $36 and has 3.4 fl oz (100 ml) of product. It has an exhaustive ingredients list. Up front are nourishing, moisturizing ingredients like Sweet almond oil, squalene, capric tryglycerides, Glyceryl Stearate and cetearyl alcohol. What follows is a long list of antioxidants and anti-irritants. Chamomile flower extract, Birch bark, chinese skullcap, cucumber, apple, barley and turmeric extracts to name a few. I confess that this list is what attracted my attention and made me buy this product. However, that also increases the allergic potential for sensitive skins so patch-testing is must!Ingredients: http://imgur.com/90bSA4KHow i use it:I have been using this thrice a week since almost two months, roughly about a big pea-size for my face. It is pretty thick coming out of the tube and a bit difficult to apply. I spread a thin layer all over my face, let it rest for about 20 seconds and then massage lightly all over my face. The body heat helps to spread it easily and evenly. Clinique advises to keep it on for 10 mins but I'm quite happy to break this rule :D I keep it on for about 45 mins to an hour and wash my face gently after the time is up.Now onto the Performance:It is an excellent mask if you have dry, dehydrated or even normal skin. It gets absorbed completely and makes my skin supple. It gives my face that well-rested look. The thing that I'm most excited to share with you all though is the effect this mask had on inflammation due to acne. I had a hormonal breakout some time back and used this mask everyday for four days and the inflammation subsided much quicker than it normally does. Raised cysts flattened out quickly and it took care of redness like nobody's business. Needless to say, it did not aggravate my acne, nor did it give rise to any new ones.Makeup goes on exceedingly well after i use this; no dry patches, no redness at all. And did i mention how little is required every time? I reckon it's gonna last me ages, making it pretty cost-effective.Tl;dr: I love this mask. It goes above and beyond what it claims to do. It nourishes, moisturizes, plumps, calms and gives me that lit-from-within glow. It has become my HG mask and with the winter approaching, I'm sure I'm gonna love it even more.Let me know if I've missed something! :)

[Routine Help] Sweating more because of weather and activities. Do I need to modify my routine?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have a routine that has worked pretty well for me.AM: cerave foaming face wash, neutrogena hydro gel moisturizer, la Roche posay sunscreen (if spending time outside), concealer (for pimples, used only if needed)PM: (oil cleanse with neutrogena ultra light cleansing oil if I used concealer), foaming face wash, stridex (wait 15), nip and fab glycolic acid syrum (wait 15), benzoyl peroxide gel for problem spots (wait 5), RoC correxion retinol cream, light layer of neutrogena moisturizer again.Once a week I use the Aztec mask, and I change my pillowcase nightly and my towel in the middle of the week.Everything has been nice and my skin, wonderful. But recently I have been spending a lot of time outside, and in this heat, sweating. As a result (I assume) I have been breaking out. Will this subside eventually, or should I modify my routine to compensate? If so, how should I change it? Thanks!

[Routine Help] should I apply salicylic acid before a mud mask?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've read a few pages that say to apply it first to start working on the dirt in your pores therefore making the mud mask work better. Does this method work better than doing salicylic acid after the mud mask? If I wait about twenty minutes after applying salicylic acid and before doing the mud mask, will the salicylic acid have enough time to work? I plan on applying salicylic acid, doing a mud mask, than OCM and cerave cleanser. I want to make sure the salicylic acid actually has time to work and won't simply be washed away after the mud mask. Thanks!

[product question] Can we talk about bad products, regret purchases?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm on a work trip and my flight was cancelled, but my bag went on a different flight and I don't have any face products. I found a grocery store within walking distance of my hotel and grabbed a few things from the Garnier SkinActive Brightening line. I'm now back at the airport feeling nauseous from the overwhelming smell of whatever crap they put in there. My skin is incredibly greasier than normal and the smell is so overwhelming. It would have been better to literally wash with hotel bar soap and put nothing on my face.Tell me about the worst products you've tried. Learn from each other's mistakes and avoid wasting money.

[routine help] how to incorporate oils into routine?

I would like to add in maybe a serum or oil into my regimen, but do i still moisturize after? I have a pretty light weight moisturizer (cetaphil ) because I thought I once read that an oil shouldn't replace a basic moisturizer. Thanks

[Skin Concern] Insanely dry lips and skin around mouth. I can't wear lipstick anymore. Please help, desperate.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Here's a picture of what my lips look like.I do have eczema on my hands and a bit on my arms; could it be that? They're not particularly itchy but literally every morning when I wake up, this is what they look like. Or some variation of this. I've tried Vaseline, numerous lip balms and chapsticks, and recently I splurged on the Bite Agave Lip Mask at Sephora. It's really hydrating and helps the skin peel off a little quicker, but the next day there's just more layers of dead skin peeling off. This is such a huge pain in the ass, and as a makeup lover it sucks not being able to wear lipstick. I could really use some help.

[Acne] 17 y/o girl struggling with moderate acne and obsessive popping. Can't take this much longer, desperately need help.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
TL;DR; I've been struggling with mild acne for 4/5 years, but it became a lot more severe when I started to pop compulsively. I feel like I've tried almost all available treatments, and it just won't go away. I now avoid going out, and I stay in everyday obsessing over my skin. I cry about it almost every day at this point. My skin has become my enemy and I treat it as such, which I know is even more damaging. I don't know where to get help- therapists, dermatologists, etc. I could really use some advice.MY SKIN (warning: blood included, if you're easily grossed out I wouldn't look. I included the post-picking pictures just to demonstrate how much I absolutely ruin my skin): https://imgur.com/a/yIwJCSo I'm a 17 year old girl and I've had acne for about 4/5 years. It was very mild at first, but then I began to pop my pimples compulsively (I have OCD) and haven't been able to stop since. My acne is at the absolute worst that it's ever been and I can't get it to go away, no matter what to do. It's an absolute shame because I wasn't originally that bad looking, but I have ruined my skin which has 100% made me much less attractive.I have tried: - Benzoyl Peroxide (in many different forms: OTC topicals, prescription topicals). I've developed a reaction to it recently and now break out in hives. - Salicylic acid (face washes, OTC topicals, prescription topicals, exfoliation creams). Doesn't do a thing for me - Honey, sea salt, olive oil, tree tea oil, Desitin baby rash cream, Calamine lotion, witch hazel. Nothing does anything. - Changing diet, cutting dairy, losing weight, eating less, exercising, eating more fruit. Nothing helped - Vitamin D, Vitamin A, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin B3 (topical and oral), probiotics. No improvement - Not picking/popping. Only saw improvement 1 out of the many times I've tried it for a week+ - Dermatologists (just prescribed antibiotics that I'm not willing to take and topicals that irritated my skin greatly)What I'm not willing to try: - Accutane - SpironolactoneI'm honestly at my wits end. I'm depressed, my acne won't go away and it scares me not knowing whether or not it ever will. I've turned to other things I can control which is becoming a little dangerous, I've lost 15 pounds in the past 2 months from eating a lot less. I'm constantly stressed, my sleep is screwed. I've isolated myself from all my friends, and I've pushed just about everyone away aside from my parents and boyfriend. Each time I pop, it's kind of like I become entranced- I don't snap out of it for a good 10 minutes, and it's extremely hard to stop. Once I'm done, I cry, knowing that I've once again ruined my face and guaranteed more acne. I'm lucky in the sense that I've never had any serious infections, but one of the cysts on the top right side of my face looks pretty bad right now.I seriously don't know what to do. This is ruining my life. I could really use some guidance on how to get help. I don't know if I need a new therapist (I see one for other issues), a new dermatologist, or both.Thank you for anyone who reads through this and tries to help.!

[Acne] Stubborn butt acne that just won't go away- what do I do?!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
For the past few years, butt acne has been the bane of my existence. I tend to get acne EVERYWHERE- face, shoulders, back, chest, butt. Nowhere is off limits, according to my body. In the past month, I've been able to clear my chest/shoulder/back acne MIRACULOUSLY (seriously, it's amazing), but I'm still left with face and butt acne.As you can probably assume, I don't really touch my butt often, therefore I doubt my acne down there is from spreading bacteria with my hands. I don't get cysts (only once in a blue moon), but just smaller pimples (picture here- not full butt, don't worry https://imgur.com/a/YeWo9) and it's very irritating. I'm a girl, so of course I get involved with guys here and there, and I often have to slather my ass in waterproof makeup so that they don't see my pimples if I'm naked (and it sucks). The only thing I've found that truly works is Green Heart Lab's Butt Acne Clearing Lotion, but if I slack on putting it on for even a day the pimples will come back. If I stay up to routine, I'm almost acne-less. The stuff is really expensive and comes in an extremely small bottle, so I'm kind of running out of funds in the acne care department. I'm normally very conscious of taking care of my butt, I try not to sit for too long at once and when I have to wear yoga pants, I try to wear panty line free cotton underwear to prevent any friction. I'm also hygienic. So, really, what I'm wondering is- what even causes butt acne? Can it be hormones or anything? And most importantly, how can I rid myself of it?

Also, I've had these bumps on the backs of my thighs for as log as I can't remember and anyone I've ever asked about them has no clue what they are or how to get rid of them, it makes me so self conscious to wear shorts or bathing suits, please help!!

[Routine Help] I'm a clueless guy. What else should I pick up?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
A couple a years ago I remember a guy saying I need skincare products bad. I mostly ignored it but I picked up a face wash which felt really nice. That was probably 5 years ago.Lately I been dealing with being ugly AF and noticed girls talking a lot about guys hair. That led me to thinking about (my ugly) face and decided to give this all a try. After look at this sub for an hour or two I picked up CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser & Moisturizing Lotion and Neutrogena exfoliating scrub with white tea & vitamin e. For hair I picked up pantene pro V shampoo (strengthening or rebuilding or something) & pantene conditioner.I plan to shampoo & condition 3 times a week and use the face products every morning and night. Am I doing it right? Everything feels nice except the moisturizer. I suspect it's because I need it bad and its hitting my face hard atm.Hygiene wise what else should I pick up?Face: The 3 I mentioned above. I don't use anything for shavingHair: Mentioned above. Pantene pro V shampoo and conditioner (separate it isn't a 2 in 1).Body: Dove soap in the shower. I hear I should use different brands of deodorant every few months or year.Mouth:- Scope mouthwash sometimes listerine to mix it up- Brush every night (colgate) sometimes morning (it hurts my teeth if I do it twice a day everyday, I think I do it wrong)- Floss 4+ times a week- Crest whitestrips. I been real lazy. I only do it once or twice a week. I bought it a month ago and didn't finish. How soon until I look better? I'm assuming in 27days bc thats how long google says it takes to regrow skin. I should be able to finish the whitestrips by then. What else might I want for my face or body? I think I may take new dating photos next week and again in 30 or so days.

[Routine Help] Okay, I'm 80% sure I'm purging, so what do I do while I wait?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I recently started using a mandelic acid peel. I don't usually use AHAs because I am allergic to glycolic acid and the majority of AHA products are glycolic acid-based, but I do use fairly high concentrations of BHA (4% salicylic acid every other night or so, sometimes a peel) with no problem. I was aware I was taking a bit of a risk but I had some free time so I figured I'd give it a shot as I'd really like the benefits of an AHA in my routine.I built up slowly and my skin tolerated the peel fine, no irritation or redness beyond what's associated with the peel itself and none of the symptoms I have had when I've used glycolic acid on my face. After a couple of weeks of use I found I was breaking out all through my T-Zone. For lack of a better way of describing it, it seemed like all my blackheads were turning into whiteheads. I freaked out because didn't immediately make the connection since I never purged with BHA, but then I came over here, did some research, and realised what I was describing fit the description of purging pretty well. That is:I have small whiteheads surfacing where I have a lot of blackheads and CCsThese whiteheads are confined only to the area of my T-Zone and my cheeks where I consistently experience most of my breakoutsI have no problems anywhere else on my face, in fact that rest of my face looks and feels goodI have no symptoms that could better be explained by irritation, allergy or dehydration (I have very sensitive skin so I'm familiar with all these) or by a regular breakout (it's not hormonal, and there are no other variations in my routine that I think would be breaking me out right now)So now I have three questions:Does my guess that this is purging sound about right? While I've never purged from an acid before, I have had multiple courses of Accutane and being familiar with how that drug works I more or less believe that purging is a real thing. The new whiteheads don't line up with anything else that I would expect to trigger a breakout and they look different from a breakout situation anyway. Am I correct in assuming this is what's going on?Am I supposed to keep using the product during the purge period? This might sound dumb, but I have been hesitant in case I wasn't correct that I was purging and also because even if I knew it was a normal part of the process, I felt kind of shitty about my skin and didn't want to make it worse. Should I modify how I use it (timing, frequency, areas of application) until my skin clears to minimise the problems or should I continue with what I'm doing? How should I care for my skin during this period? Is there anything I can or should do during the purge phase to protect my skin, or minimise the impact of these little breakouts or any marks they might leave behind, or minimise possibly making them worse? I haven't been using my BHA while I have been waiting this out, should I? Will it help at all?My current routine is simple: Cetaphil cleanser, PC 4% BHA foam 3ish times a week (but I haven't used this since I started the peel cos I didn't wanna overdo it), this MUAC peel now 2x a week, Cerave PM and Vaseline as an occlusive. My skin is sensitive, very combination (either very oily or very dry), historically acne-prone (I did three courses of Accutane before my cystic acne cleared) and I guess now headed towards ageing (I'm 28).If anyone has any observations, tips or pointers it would be much appreciated!

[Skin Concerns] Weird blemishes on chest: what are they and how can I get rid of them?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Over the course of the last few months, I've had these weird blemishes cropping up on my chest left and right, particularly between my cleavage. They seem more well-defined and pronounced than sunspots; plus, I almost never wear a neckline that exposes this part of my chest to direct sunlight. Any idea what else they could be and/or how to get rid of them?

[Review] BHA Mattifying Miracle
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have oily/combination skin that's more on the oily side, especially around my T-zone, and my skincare routine involves me washing my face with La Roche-Posay's Effaclar gel, followed by Hada Labo's Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid, followed by Cosrx's 96% Snail Mucin Essence, and followed by some CeraVe PM.My routine is the same for both AM and PM except I put on a sunscreen after it in the AM, and I put on some Vit C serum before it in the PM.Now I've been looking to add a BHA into my routine for the last few months and finally settled on PC's 2% BHA liquid because it seems quite popular – but I changed my mind and decided to get the cheaper 4% BHA from Cosrx after r/asianbeauty recommended it. They said that it's more gentle on the skin than the PC BHA (Cosrx uses betaine salicylate whilst PC uses pure salicylic acid, so the 4% is to match it to the strength of pure 2% salicylic acid whilst still being more gentle on the skin bc of the betaine). Also, some people have complained about the PC BHA leaving an oily film on their skin, and that's the last thing I need.So I purchased the Cosrx BHA 'Blackhead Power Liquid' as it's called, and I've been using it for approximately a week. I use it in my PM routine after my Vit C serum (I wait about 30 minutes in between the two because both of them are actives and the Cosrx BHA also contains niacinamide). The changes have been absolutely phenomenal so far. By day 2, the two whiteheads I had near my nose had completely evaporated into nothingness. By day 4, the pores on my nose became invisible. It was as if my nose became a continuous stretch of uninterrupted road without any potholes on it. By day 5, my face was a lot less red than it normally gets and my mild rosacea was just... gone. The few (mild) pimples I had on my cheeks have also shrunk considerably. But perhaps the most striking change from this whole BHA experience is the way it has mattified my skin. The CeraVe PM is a great moisturiser, but using it in the daytime makes my skin a bit greasy, and layering sunscreen on top of that just makes it more ugh. However, my skin stayed mostly matte the whole day yesterday and that's unbelievable considering that I only use the BHA at night and wash it all off in the morning. This is a phenomenal change for me (but also ugh because prior to getting the BHA I was stupid enough to waste money on some LRP Toleriane Ultra Fluide (lighter daytime moisturiser) as well as the Bioderma Sebium Pore refiner (mattifier) and I'm not gonna need them at all let alone open them because the BHA does the job so perfectly... anyone wanna buy them off me?! lol)I've also been using it under my eyes (should I stop doing this, is it safe because the skin's so thin there?) and some of my fine lines have been diminished.I'm no expert so idk what kind of magic voodoo is in the BHA but it is honestly the best thing I have ever done for my skin. I'll continue using it every night until my skin's the way I want it to be, and then I'll use it every other day for maintenance.

[Routine Help] Can anyone recommend a cleanser & moisturizer without coconut-derived ingredients?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have oily, dehydrated, acne-prone skin. I'm pretty sure the products I've been using (which are laden with coconut-derived ingredients) have been drying out my skin, leaving it oily and dehydrated. So I want to start fresh and cut out everything with coconut in it. Can anyone recommend a cleanser and moisturizer without any of the following ingredients: https://np.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/1dd5ov/psa_for_my_fellow_sensitive_skin_types_regarding/Thank you!!!

[Product Question] Asked The Body Shop about the pH of their cleansers and received a weird response
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Unfortunately we are not able to divulge the pH of our products as this is proprietary information.Weird, right? Is it common for companies to withhold this kind of information? This kind of rubs me the wrong way. I'm moving abroad and I'm sure of what kind of skincare I'll be able to find in my new city, but my city does a Body Shop, so I was hoping to find a cleanser that I liked, but this response kind of turns me off...As an aside, would anyone know/be able to test the pH of some of their cleansers?

So I've been struggling with acne for a while. I've implemented a pretty strong skincare regimen, and while it has definitely improved, it still pops up everyday. But, in the same spots on my face.http://imgur.com/IPkOWHWhttp://imgur.com/zezJneWTonight, while washing my face, I realized...IT'S MY GOTDAM CELLPHONE.I should have known but I'm just realizing this now, haha. Let's see how drowning this thing in alcohol before I put it on my face works!Routine:AM: Cleanse with Aveda creme cleanser, tone with witch hazel toner, 2% benzoyl peroxide cream, Burt's bees brightening moisturizerPM: Same as above, substitute 2% salicylic acid moisturizer

[Personal] In Regards to a Dermatologist
Beauty Tips For Body Care
so, when I was younger I was able to frequent the dermatologist... initially, this was due to warts but the poor girl tried her best to assist me with my acne as well as i was around 11-14 at the times of my visits. i believe at one point my visits were as frequent as 2 weeks.now, two years have passed and i've found this reddit, my skin feels healthier than ever etc... but there's one thing i can't get over, when i discovered this reddit i found that the "blackheads" that i've been stuck with on my nose since i was 11, appeared to be more like sebaceous filaments. i've looked at pictures of both and i'm just baffled as to how my dermatologist informed me they were blackheads. i'm just so confused because i don't want to act as if i know better than a certified dermatologist, but there is absolutely no way that what i have are blackheads. i'm not sure as to why it bothers me so much, but if i could get potential feedback on just how she mixed them up or anything, i'd like to hear it from this subreddit. i've started using red box stridex pads every night before bed during my routine and my sfs have since improved.TLDR : dermo said i had blackheads for several years of constant visits. discovered this reddit, compared pictures, started treatments recommended here and obvious improvement tell me i have sfs instead. need help understanding how it happenedalso, sorry if this is under the wrong tag, still learning how reddit works.

[Routine Help] Confused about BHA/AHA/Chemical exfoliates/toners
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Skintype: mostly dry, sorta oily around the T-Zone in the summer, very sensitiveI'm interested in using a chemical exfoliate to help get rid of Sebaceous Filaments on my nose and whiteheads all on my chin.I currently use mostly korean products, so I've been eyeing this for a hot minute but it is labeled as a toner? Is this an actual exfoliate or just a toner with AHA ? I already use the Etude house toner which i like. Would it be ok to use both? Or transition to this product? If you think a different product is better(doesnt have to be Korean fyi) please let meShould i also post my current routine? I never have posted here

[Sun Care] Melanin activating self tanners?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
There was a thread here a few months ago about self tanners or tanning or whatever, and someone recommended a lotion that used melanin activating peptides (not sure if I'm saying it right). So I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with lotions like these, or recommendations? I can't remember the name of the brand that was mentioned but it had kinda a funny name. Maybe someone knows what I'm talking about? ;)

[Hair Removal]Very pale skin and dark hair - I'm curious of the effectiveness of in-home IPL products and if they will effect my skin?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi everyone,As mentioned, I have extremely light skin and dark thick hair. In particular, I am looking to do something about the hair on my upper lip and chin area. After doing research, I've come across a few products to consider: - Silk'n Flash & Go - Tria Hair Removal - Philips Lumea IPLHas anyone had experience with these or similar products? Would they work on facial hair? Will it cause dark patches on my skin or irritation?I'm hoping to gain any advice or recommendations for similar products that will be effective and also safe for my skin.Honestly, I'm going fucking insane having a dark hair follicles be noticeable all the time. My problem with in-office treatments is that you are told to not wax/tweeze hair for 6 weeks prior. Tell me how I'm suppose to walk around for that long with shaved five o'clock shadow?!Thanks a bunch!

[Product Question] Started using 2% BHA and Vitamin C. Skin is red and dry, is this normal?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey guys,I started using BHA and Vitamin C two days ago. The first day I used both morning and night. The second day, I only used the BHA at night because It made my foundation application horrible in the morning (dry and flaky). I think I will continue to do this.My skin type is oily/combo. Prior to these products, I simply used olive oil to wash my face and a moisturizer. Now, my routine is: Cleanse with Olive oil, apply BHA (wait 15 mins), Apply Vitamin C (Wait), Moisturizer/Sunscreen.Anyways, after applying these products my skin feels very tight and dry. It also looks very red. I already have a pimple on my chin, and I usually only get pimples around my period. Is this normal? Should I do something different? Thanks!

[Anti-Aging] Peeling from Retin-A
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I started using Retin-A cream about a month ago. I was on it a while back, but I started off using it too often and had a lot of irritation. I now use it every 3rd day.I have recently started having a lot of peeling from it. I moisturized this morning before work, then I got to my office and the whole area around my eyes, nose, and mouth was full of peeling skin. I've been applying Eucerin Calming Cream really often (it's the only thing I've found that doesn't sting) but I'm still having a lot of peeling. Is this something that will go away soon? Do you guys have any suggestions for combating it?

[Acne] How to combat acne on sensitive, oily skin?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have a pretty difficult skin type (sensitive, acne prone, and oily) and it's near impossible for me to combat it it seems like. I know salicylic acid face washes dry my skin out and make my acne worse, so I use either an oil cleanser or a cleaner for sensitive skin from L'oreal. I know I used to make my own toner that was 1/4 ACV and 3/4 green tea that worked great, and froze green tea into ice cubes and would rub it on my skin (again worked great) and want to start making my own vitamin C serum from an old thread I found on here. But is there any good product anyone knows that helps acne without making my skin look even more red and irritated? Whether store bought or a DIY recipe?I also don't know 100% what a good moisturizer would be. I've been using argan oil but I'm pretty sure it's breaking me out. Would I cleanse, apply toner, serum, acne product, moisturizer, then ice cube? I always thought I knew so much about skincare until I got on this subreddit! Ahh!

[Misc] Moisturizer recommendations for dehydration?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have fairly clear skin from years of hard work and now I am focusing on the dehydration. My skin used to peel all the time and I couldn't fix it no matter what I did. But I finally tried out Cervae in the tub and that all went away. Now I don't peel anymore but I am still am dehydrated, I just don't think the Cerave is enough. I also have already tried Nivea creme and hated the oiliness to it.Any other recommendations?

[Product Question] Why is SCA addicted to CeraVe?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello r/skincareaddiction, I ask this question not as an over-generalization of this sub, rather from the standpoint of a curious outsider and investor in Valeant Pharmaceuticals, who owns/produces CeraVe dermatological products. What makes it so special? Why CeraVe over Neutrogena or Lubriderm or Cetaphil? What does MVE actually mean for my skin?

My skin was flawless when I was using the face wash by Clean and Clear that was super drying and then NOT moisturising. I've been experimenting with tweaking my routine and I'm almost at my wit's end. Failing everything I'm just going to go back to that face wash and see what happens.

[Routine Help] When to stop using benzoyl peroxide?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've had amazing progress getting my acne under control using BP. My skin isn't currently 100% perfect (thanks to PIH) but it's no longer the painful, angry red mountain range it was before. I've been using BP nightly for about 4 months now - when should I discontinue using it? Also do I just quit cold turkey or phase it out as I phase in something like an AHA cream? Thanks :)

[Routine Help] NOT washing your face at night?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Just a quick background on me. 25 year old male, very bad acne/oily skin from my teens onwards (generally my t-zone). Went on a course of accutane at the age of 19 and my acne was as good as cleared up, however a few years later my old oily skin came back and I now suffer with it daily. After various experimenting, I think a 'less is more' approach is what my skin seems to prefer. Too much cleansing and while my t-zone seems to appreciate it, my cheeks/mouth subsequently seems to get very dry. As a result, I think cleansing once a day seems to suit me better. However - I seem to read on this forum that most people do the majority of their cleansing at night/before bed? Due to my incredibly oily skin, I just feel completely gross all day if I don't wash my face in the morning, so it's got me into the habit of cleansing in the shower (I've started oil cleansing which seems to have helped), but then just splashing my face with water before I go to bed. This seems to be the opposite of what most people in here suggest however - is it a bad habit? So to break it down, my routine is as follows: Morning:Massage deep cleansing oil (DHC) all over faceRinse off in as cold/luke warm a shower as I can tolerateMoisturise (shine control tea tree & witch hazel moisturiser) Night:Splash face with waterLightly moisturise Is this a poorly informed routine to have? Should I be switching this round?

[Product Question] Calamine lotion seems like magic, but is it safe to use on my face?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I bought a bottle of calamine lotion on a whim the other day. I used it when I had poison ivy years ago and remember dotting it on active zits too. So I've been using it the past few nights and damn! It dries up my spots overnight, and ones that would have been there for days! So obviously I'm in love, but I'm wondering if I'm doing damage somehow and just don't know it? Can I put calamine lotion on my face? The ingredients: Calamine 8%, Zinc oxide 8%, Bentonite magma, calcium hydroxide, glycerine, purified water.Any thoughts?

[Routine Help] Fed up and overwhelmed. Dehydrated, mega oily and very acne prone. Help :(
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Okay so I have very recently found this sub and it has educated me to within an inch of my life about my skin, I love it, thank you all. I always thought I had oily skin, but I am now 99% sure it is dehydrated and the oiliness is a symptom of that.About me: 23, female, UK.My skin: Had acne since age 12. Cleared up fantastically on Dianette birth control but had to stop as it gave me a benign tumour on the pituitary gland (fun times) . Acne returned around 4 months after stopping Dianette. Clear cheeks and nose. Very few pimples on forehead. Incredibly reactive chin and jawline covered in CC's (like silly string if you try and squeeze them) which almost always turn into huge horrible pustules. Feels a little tight after cleansing, feels parched after moisturiser, gets oily very quickly throughout the day and look like an oil slick every morning I wake up. So not only does my face look like crap my hair gets oily and limp immediately too.Routine: AM - Boots sensitive cleansing gel, Indeed hyaluron (HA), Eucerin Dermo purifying adjunctive hydrating care spf 30PM - Boots cleanser, Nip+Fab 4% glycolic acid (wait 30 mins), splash face with water, Indeed hylauron, Eucerin Night Care (contains lactic acid)Not sure I'm hugely fond of my moisturiser. My whole routine is only around 1 week old as I have only just found this sub and my routine was sketchy at best before this.I have only just introduced the glycolic acid as I was hoping to restore my skins moisture barrier (I used baking soda on my face for a LONG time) as I really want to do something to stop these awful CC's turning into horrible balls of pus. My skin is still so oily though! I know my routine is new and you need to give things time to work but I feel like my dehydratedness (not a word but you know what I mean), oilyness and acne are battling each other. And these pus balls on my chin make me want to cry and stay at home forever.Any suggestions/advice on my skin type, my routine, my products, my life in general lol, would be much appreciated skin gurus.EDIT: I also take vitamin B5 (500mg) combined with L-Carnitine (250mg) every night as this is suppose to reduce oilyness. Could this be screwing me over?

[Skin Concerns] I am six months pregnant, and can feel the skin on my stomach is beginning to stretch. Is there anything I can do to prevent stretch marks?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
So my skin on my stomach is in fairly good condition, no soreness or stretch marks yet, but is there anything I can do to prevent stretch marks in the next three months or so other than moisturising? As I understand it, stretch marks are where the inner layers of the skin tear, and you get scars despite no actual full ripping occurring. It makes sense to try and keep this skin as nourished and moisturised as possible to retain elasticity. But is there anything other than a general moisturiser that would benefit my skin? I've been using one where the main ingredients seem to be water, decyl cocoate (which ewg.org says is a fatty acid derived from coconut oil and is an occlusive) and glycerin - I've also been using up an old bottle of bio oil, but I'm sceptical about it.I'd be prepared to spend a bit of money - I've got a lot of stretch marks on my breasts from where medication side effects made them grow very large very quickly, and some of the stretch marks are purple and have a sunken texture to them. I'd like to avoid this happening to my stomach, where the skin is starting to feel tighter.Thank you anyone who has any ideas :)

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello everyone! Long time lurker here.First off, this subreddit has helped me TREMENDOUSLY already. Now I'm just working on PIE and light scarring, with small problem areas. I've read that using vitamin c with certain things can irritate your skin (mixing pHs, yada yada stuff I unfortunately don't understand yet.)Current routine:AM: CeraVe foaming, Witch hazel, CeraVe AM or PM (depending on how much sun I expect to get, because I prefer PM)PM: CeraVe foaming, Stridex redbox, Paula's choice 8% AHA, CeraVe PM, Slug mask of vaseline(Also, I'm still experiencing an overall kind of redness. Any tips?My only remaining problem areas are the side of my chin which I assume to be hormonal. I've read spearmint capsules may help blocking androgens?)Thank you for reading! Any help is welcome. And THANK YOU SCA!Edit: sorry for the formatting. Currently mobile.

Any tips?My only remaining problem areas are the side of my chin which I assume to be hormonal. I've read spearmint capsules may help blocking androgens?)Thank you for reading! Any help is welcome. And THANK YOU SCA!Edit: sorry for the formatting. Currently mobile.

[Review] So I tried CeraVe Intensive Stretch Marks cream ... on my face.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'll admit, I mostly tried CeraVe Intensive Stretch Mark cream on my face because I was feeling lazy last night. I'd had friends over for dinner and was exhausted after playing host all night and drinking a bit too much wine.I decided to keep it simple - my trusty PC 4% BHA foam and ... what? I have a number of moisturisers that I use on my body but not on my face, and the CeraVe tube was just sitting right in front of me. I liked the surprisingly light texture, so I thought I would give it a go on my face even though my skin is very oily. It sank right in, was non-greasy and when I woke up my skin was soft and hydrated and not covered in the after-grease I am normally accustomed to after applying a heavier night time moisturiser.I probably won't use it every night, but for combination tending towards dry skin it I think it would work well as a night time moisturiser.

[Acne] Skin appears to be clear in the AM, imperfections appear during the day
Beauty Tips For Body Care
So one thing I have noticed about my skin is that when I wake up in the morning sometimes, all my imperfections like pimples just seem to be almost disappear. They don't absolutely vanish, they're just not as visible. I go to wash my face and they still seem to be gone. However, as the day progresses they come to light and become more visible. Does anyone seem to have an explanation for this?

[Personal] Mineral Oil may have betrayed me.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have been using mineral oil for two years to fight off stubborn, persistent acne - first as Pond's Cold Cream, then just straight. Despite the occasional progress, it always came back. Recently, I ran out and decided to wait until next paycheck so I could buy a bunch of bottles...only for my skin to miraculously start to clear up.How could the blessed OCM play me like this? I listened to its sweet siren call, only to have it turn upon me like this. This is just like when neem oil made me break out...

[Hair Removal] I'm a sufferer of trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling), affecting my eyebrows and eyelashes. Concerns about scar tissue and regrowth.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
It originally started as an anxiety stress response when I was a couple years into college (usually around exam times, then I'd recover for a bit). The last few years it has sort of become a boredom thing as well as anxiety. I'm stuck filling in my patchy and nonexistent eyebrows with whatever shitty non-realistic makeup I have.My self esteem has never been that high in life, and having this problem at such a prominent point on my face definitely makes this worse. I really need to talk to a PCP about what to do with this... Distraction methods that I've tried have not worked. (moved in November, haven't needed a PCP since the move except for this, and I hate getting comfortable with new providers.)It's been a couple weeks since I've pulled around the inner eyebrows and I'm not even seeing nubs coming back in. I never wear makeup anymore except for the eyebrows... I feel like it'll draw more attention to my eyes than they do on their own with looking so bad.I do use castor oil on them and take supplemental biotin, but I don't know if there's anything else that I can do.

[Acne] Turns out EltaMD UV Daily was the culprit all along. Switched to Avene and skin is clearing up.
Beauty Tips For Body Care
About a week and half ago, I switched from using EltaMD UV Daily to an Avene sunscreen and my skin has been getting clearer every day. It is the only change in my regimen so it has to be that.I've been using EltaMD for about a year. During this time my skin was never clear. Lots of clogged pores that would turn into red marks, and new breakouts before old ones would fade away. But I always just assumed that it was due to stress, since there is so much praise for EltaMD from people who are acne prone, especially on this board. I sincerely hope they're not shills.I initially switched to EltaMD from Shiseido Extra Smooth SPF 38 because the finish was just so much elegant and matte. But thinking back, it was around that time that my breakouts got worse.Anyway, I'm glad I finally switched. And if any of you are struggling with breakouts while on EltaMD, I highly suggest you look into it.
